Dark Wings – Seventh Stage

Stage Seven – Second Encounter
I lied there on my bed, thinking about what to do or maybe you could
say I was thinking about what happened earlier. I could barely believe
what I did yesterday. Saving Rika. I wonder what she’s thinking. I secretly
blushed, only to be teased by Sky again.

“What’s wrong with you? Can’t you give it up already?” I shouted at him.

“Fine fine…but It’s only natural for me to tease on you after
what “you” did?

“So are you saying most of the time, I have to follow your advice?”
I replied back at him with a scowl

“Yeah…you can’t think for yourself! I wonder how you would
of lived your life without me.” Sky remarked proudly

“If It wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t even be here!”

“Shut up Saki.”

Then that ruined Sky’s usually good mood when I think about Rika.
Speaking about Rika, that reminded me about school, and that
we were having a field trip today. It was going to be a one week
trip. We were going to a forest just north of here. It was called
Ellnia. They had a great view and they had REALLY tall trees. I heard
that the trees were over 5 millon years old!

Excited about the thought of seeing more tall trees, I rushed
downstairs to breakfast, barely giving me enough time to change
my clothes. Mom made me rice with some ham and egg. She greeted
me with a wide smile on her face as I sat down to eat. After a few silent
moments, mom broke the silence.

“So…are you exicited about going to Ellinia?”

Her smile was still wide on her face. I had a feeling what she was going
to ask me next, but I answered her question anyway.

“Yeah…couldn’t you hear me rush downstairs?”

“Or are you happy about something else?” my mom replied, her smile
widening…which kinda looked freaky.

“Um…mom…where are you going with this?” I asked, a tone in my voice
saying, “Don’t mention it, but my mom just ignored me and kept bugging me.

“Don’t you plan on doing something with Rika during the trip?” she asked with
a wicked, but happy voice in her tone.

“NO WAY! Don’t get the wrong idea! She fell of a cliff, what am I supposed to do,
just stand there and yell out her name and sob?”

Before I realized it, my face turned beet red like a sun burn. Mom’s and Sky’s smiles
were now unormally wide and when my dad came into the kitchen and saw that
I was blushing hard, he realized the situation and couldn’t help but a smile too.
This is the funnest part of a parent’s job. Make fun of their kids, especially in public.
They’re REALLY good at it. I hope she’ll never talk about this in public!

I said goodbye to my parents and they offered to walk with me to school.
I refused, just in case I ran into Rika and then my parents cause a fuss, but
my mom said that I won’t be able to see her again for a week so she wanted
to say good bye to me at school. Well the worst happened, I ran into Rika, and
she was with her mom too.

“Well what a surpise, It’s Rika and Rose.” my mom said in an instant

“Well what a suprise, It’s Saki and Emily.” Rika’s mom replied in an instant

They two mothers whispered to each other. While I had really nothing to
do but look at Rika. We locked eyes for about 30 seconds until I felt like
I might blush and looked at a nearby car. She did the same. Then my mom
and Rika’s mom faced us with wide grins.

“Why don’t you two walk to school, I’d like to talk to Rose.” my mom whispered to me.

I heard Rose whisper something to Rika to. Probaly the same thing except that
she’d want to talk to Emily. Mom kissed me on the forehead and Rika’s mom did
the same to Rika and they hastily went back to Rika’s house. Sometimes I really
hate my mom. Even though I said that, I actually felt a bit grateful.

Suddenly Rika talked to me a lot about the trip to Ellnia. About how it
was a magical city back then with sorcerors using magic such as “Thunder Spear”
or “Fire Arrow” or “Magic Claw”. Sky was currently teaching me how to use
magic claw. I always broke something though and then he would yell at me.
I tried to start a conversation, but she interupted me every time and kept talking,
so I just listened to her and nodded every once in a while.

Then I saw Takeshi with her sister, Akani. Then I remembered about Takeshi. About
him kidnapping Rika, him growing white wings like I grow dark wings. I thought he
was going to do something to me, but he acted like nothing happened and then
greeted me and Rika. He was back to his old goofy self. Though, Akani didn’t say
hello. She looked at us and then what do you know? She began to smile.

“What do we have here? Saki and Rika…together?” Akani smiled even wider and
Takeshi couldn’t help to. He was actually laughing a little.

“Well…I ran into Rika so we walked together.” I said quickly, desperately thinking
for a nice comeback the next time Akani would say something.

“Well If you two live so close together, why don’t you walk together all the time?”

“We just ran into each other, so we decided to walk together…jeez.” Thank god
Rika had something to say to. I didn’t what to say.

“Oh…really? Is that all? Did something happen to you two?”

Then my face and so was Rika’s was blushing. Rika was blushing too?
Well…anyone would blush if you’re being accused of being “together”.
So I quickly found something to say.

“Okay…let’s just get back to class.”

Akani grinned more and even Takeshi got into the conversation and made stuff up
to themselves. They were laughing behind us. Thankfully the bell rang, and I ran
back to the classroom before they could say anymore. We were late. 5 seconds late.
Even Akani and Takeshi, who were behind us laughing like crazy, made it in time.

The teacher was surpised that Rika was late. She was usually a good student, but
then she saw the hardly concealed smiles of Akani. She then made up what happened
in her head and then smiled.

“Well since we have a field trip today, I’ll excuse you two for being late.” the teacher
said swiftly

She never ever excused someone from lateness and then the kids were wondering
what happened. Was the teacher in a good mood? Well things started calming down when
she let us decide who we’ll sleep with in our rooms when we get to Ellnia. I went with Takeshi
and Rika went with Akani, appearently her best friend. Then she listed out the group.

Unfortunantely, Takeshi wasn’t in my group. Neither was Kayo, one of my school friends.
It was groups of three and I was in the last group with: Akani and…Rika. What a concidence.
We got on the bus and we drove over to Ellnia. It was a four hour trip. Fortunatently, I wouldn’t
have to sit near Rika, so I sat with Takeshi and Kayo. So many kids were excited that they had
to pee a lot and we had to stop about five times for a bathroom break until the bus driver got
annoyed and said we would only have one more bathroom stop, so only go if you REALLY have to!

At about 11: 45 am, we reached Ellnia. The trees were really tall. I mean they were TALL!
It almost reached the clouds. Some even went past the clouds! The bus were filled with
excited kids, but the bus driver got ticked and told us that we could yell when we were outside.
Rika was saying some stuff to Akani that I couldn’t hear, then she blushed a little and stared
at me. I quickly turned my head to turn to Kayo and Takeshi about the trip. I wonder if Takeshi
would ever turn into that white angel.

The four teachers walked up to the man in a charge of the cabin we’ll be staying in and
when we got permission we went into the large cabin. It was really cozy. Made with
fine wood. There were lots of lights and It was a lot bigger than I thought. There were
four floors, and each floor was 20 times the size of my house’s floors. Takeshi appeared in
my room…but this time with a serious look on his face.

“Is there something wrong Takeshi?” I asked puzzled, but I felt like I already
knew the reason why he had a serious look on his face.

“I’m not Takeshi anymore. He’s part of the Hikari Family, and he’s just my container
and nothing more. Just like the dark angel in your body. Or should I say…Sky.

He replied me codly with a strange voice. It was the white angel’s voice. He locked the door
behind him and that was when he struggled to get his white wings out. A bundle of feathers
surrounded him. White ones. Sky urged me to change into him now and I let him inside
my body once more. The cold dark air surged through my body like It always does and
I became a spirit.

Unlike me, Takeshi wasn’t a spirit next to him. Sky told me he was trapped inside. His name
was Night. Sky’s eternal rival. He told me he wasn’t an angel. It was too hard to understand,
so I told him to stop. There was one thing I listened too though. Sky said he knew ancient
powers that’s passed down to the Hikari Family. So ancient powers flow through him.
Well that advice didn’t help much.

After Sky stopped explaining, he charged toward me and murmuring a few words, he
created a electric spear in his hand! He was fast. He swung at my head, but Sky quickly
ducked down and kicked him really hard in the feet. He was pushed back, but that didn’t
do much. Sky murmured some words of his own and then two blue scars appeared on the
tip of his hand and then enlarged, the two scars dashing towards Night.

Sky did magic claw so easily, yet I had so much trouble. He said It was an easy spell…but
since it’s an ancient spell, it’s very hard to learn…and he has lived for a long time! The
atack was unexpected and he couldn’t dodge it. It scarred and tore some of his shirt.
There were two scars on his chest. Then, he got back up to his feet and whispered
some incantations that sounded very familair.

Then white feathers surrounded me. It was the same as last time! A giant
hammer was right above my head and he yelled judgement once more like he
did in sleepywood. This time, Sky was prepared. He was whispering some incantations
of his own when he started. Black feathers surrounded our body and acted as a giant
shield. It blocked the hammer’s attack and the black feathers pushed the hammer back.

I was surpised. The hammer was destroyed and the black feathers suddenly exploded.
It didn’t hurt us, but It destroyed the white feathers around us and the blast that destroyed some
of the cabin room. Night wasn’t hurt much though, and he would of continued until Takeshi
fought to take over his own body. So Night must of been controlling his body, trying to get out.
Takeshi finally took over and the wings reluctantly went back inside his back, waiting to be freed again.

Many of the kids and teachers came over to see what the noise was. Sky ran out of energy
and I had to take over.

“What happened in here?!” one of the teachers asked worried.

Takeshi quickly gained conscious and responded just as fast.

“Sorry…I was doing an experiment and the place and made a hole in the cabin room.”

The teacher sighed for being mad at Takeshi and relieved it wasn’t anything too serious.
A woman who worked at the cabin came to see what happened and our teacher explained
to her what happened. The teacher promised she would pay for the damages and Takeshi
promised her he would pay her back. All of the kids left except Rika. After a while of staring
at each other, she simply said. “Be careful next time you guys.” and then left to find Akani.

“Thanks for the save…Takeshi.”

“No problem…but keep this a secret okay?”

I nodded and I helped him get up and we were about to go join everyone else, but we were
exhausted from our battle. Sky also uses up half of my own energy to share the pain. We lied
on our beds, sleeping through the whole day till dinner time when Kayo woke us up.
