Dark Wings – Ninth Stage

~ Stage 9 – A New Threat
Awoken by Takeshi, I reluctanty got off bed. When I was beggining to brush
my teeth, he asked me where I’ve been. After the incident with Sky and
Night, I knew I could trust him, so I told him about everything…including
the part I pissed in the water and Sky got pissed. That was the part he
laughed at. Sky tried to punch my shoulder, but his ghostly figure just
went right through my shoulder.

After the laugh was over, Sky told me to tell him absolutely everything so
he would understand. Takeshi seemed to understand everything I said.
Suddenly, Takeshi saw Sky right next to my shoulder. Sky explained to us
that once you know of his existence, you can see him now. Unlike Sky
though, Takeshi doesn’t have a good spirit with him. I also told him
Night was Sky’s eternal rival and hated him. It was about an accident in
the past. I asked Sky about it as I was going down for breakfast, but
he ignored my question and didn’t answer.

Eating the breakfast, I would always see Rika stare at me a couple of
times as I eat, and then I always look away, but I’m probaly sure
she knows I’m trying to avoid her face so I stopped doing that and
I try to not stare at her direction. Takeshi anyalazed the situation
and than he made that stupid smile he made at school the other day.
He seemed to whisper something to his sister, Akani. Then I saw Akani
leaning over to someone’s ear. I thought I was freaking screwed until
the teachers finally announced we had to go on a trek around Ellnia.

I wanted to go with Takeshi and Kayo, but It was a group thing.
I had to go with Akani and Riku. It was only for 4 hours anyway…
I mean that training was SO much longer than just 4 hours.
We were allowed to go by ourselves. I decided we should go with
Takeshi’s group, but Akani was stubborn and wouldn’t let me go.
She wanted to go to the Ancient Tree. The oldest tree, and perhaps
the tallest tree in Ellnia. If you knew Akani, you knew you couldn’t
win an agrument with her, so I just shrugged my shoulders and agreed.

Rika didn’t seem to mind. When we were walking, she sometimes
walked slower behind us. Akani would take a quick peek at Rika
and than at me, and face the other way, trying to hide a smile.
Lately Akani smiled a lot. Hopefully she wasn’t smiling because of
…never mind. After a half hour of non-stop walking which
felt like forever, we couldn’t hear anymore voices. I began to
wonder If Akani really knew where the Ancient Tree was.

“Are we close Akani?” I asked her

“No, It’s further more in the forest.” Akani replied with that annoying
smirk still stuck on her face.

“Are you sure?”

“Trust me, I’m sure.”

We let Akani lead us some more. Rika and Akani would talk with
each other and I was just left to talk to Sky. Sky for some reason
was also smiling.

“Okay I know smiling is contagious, but this is just stupid.
Why are you smiling, and for no reason?” I asked curiously

Sky grunted and took a small breath and took the time
to make his smile fade away, then answered me.

“Akani planned this all up. Can’t you see?”

“What are you talking about Sky?”

“Figure It yourself.” Sky laughed a chuckle and then remained silent.

I didn’t really understand what he said, so I decided to ignore
him. Though after another 30 minutes when I was pretty sure
we were isolated, I think I understood the Akani and the plan
part. The question is what the heck is she planning?

“We better get back…..I think the tree will be really
far away.” Rika said to Akani

“No, we’re going to stop here.” she replied.

Me and Rika looked around. We were just around some trees. They
were slightly taller than the ones near the cabin, but there
was nothing special here. I looked back at where Akani was, but
she was gone. So she ditched us? That was what Sky was probaly thinking.
Rika looked around for her and I did too. After 10 minutes of searching
and yelling out her name, it’s official. She ditched us.

“Where do you think she went Rika?”

“I don’t know. Should we look for her?”

“I guess. But If we dont find her soon, let’s find our way back to the
cabin and tell the teachers.”

Rika nooded and we continued to search for her. We should of just
went back to the cabins, cause soon after, we got lost. Everything
soon got completly silent. We couldn’t even hear the humming birds
or bees. We weren’t scared…until the silence was broken.

Suddenly I heard loud noises. Dozens of bees buzzing around and
brids flying hurridely from trees. It was like they were running away
from something. We then knew why. A giant thundering stomp
shaked the ground, tripping the both of us. As me and Rika got back
up to our feet, a shadowly figure appeared in front of us, revealing
the indenity of the person who made that stomp.

Shocked to see…It was a giant…GIANT bear! There was somebody
on the bears back as well. He was a muscular man. The man than
began to open up his mouth.

“Give it to us…Saki.” The mysterious man said.

“What are you talking about? And…who are you….
and what is that?!” I asked shocked.

Sky went inside my body again and I already knew the drill. It was
someone he knew or he already understood the problem. I’m used to
him just taking control of my body for no apparent reason.
Sky told Rika to run for it and not tell anyone about this. She was
reluctant, but Sky told her he would ask him what he’s talking about,
and so she ran away.

“You won’t take me away.”

“I’m gonna have to kill your container then.”

“That ain’t gonna happen.”

Having no idea what they’re talking about, the man commanded
the huge bear to attack us. Sky jumped up and shot a giant
fire cannon at it. Unexpectedly It didn’t get blowed away like
usual. It just flinched. Sky obviously knowing this quickly got
down and unleashed one of his new moves, Holy Arrow.

Flashing yellow lights took the form as a bow and shot a
giant blast of holy energy. The blast was more powerful
than his fire cannon. The shot cut right through the bear’s
skin, cutting it into two. I was expecting to see some blood
and gore, but instead the bear was covered up in a blue
flashing lights…the one I saw when I was going into the other
dimension. I’d figure I would ask Sky later.

The man fell down to the floor hard, but got up fast. He grumbled
a few words, and soon his hands were flashing red. It was the
sign for a fire cannon. Sky, running out of time, got out of my body
and let me take control. Thanks to the training, I wasn’t helpless this
time. I quickly dodged the attack and dashed at him. Noticing my
attempt to attack, he quickly shot another fire cannon. I expected
him to do that. I slid right under the blast, the attack barely scratching
me, slid right behind him, and kicked him in the neck. As he flinched,
I lashed out magic claw and two blue razor blades cut through
the man, finishing him.

Feeling a little proud, I took a deep breath and let Sky slid in my
body. He wasn’t fully charged, but he had enough energy to talk
to the guy. Sky pushed my body towards the man. Groaning, the man
got up, eager to speak.

“You think you’ll have enough time Sky?”

The man said while coughing up some blood.

“I know I will. I’m gonna train him. Soon…tell him that.”

“Fine…1 more month. That’s all I’m giving you.”

“That’s plenty.”

The man coughed up some more blood and then murmured some more
words. A strange purple lighting came from the ground. The same the
one Sky put to sent me to the dimension. Once he dissapeared, I opened
my mouth, but Sky stopped me mid-way.

“I know Saki. I’ll explain as we go back to the cabin.”

Nodding, he got out of my body and I tried to find my way back to
cabin as he opened up his mouth like no tommorow.
