Autumn Wings – 5

Author Notes: Lolz, I dunno If any of you are even interested, or remember
about this story, but oh well. I promised to finish this, and I will. Even if it
takes me months, years, decades, centuries…or well before I’m dead anyway…meh. =P

Part 5 – What a day…

It’s been a few days since that incident. The chilling sensation of ending
someone’s life, it was frightening, and dreadful. I’ve never felt it before.
“I’m a murder…I don’t deserve to live! I’m trash…kill me!” I shouted that
out loud. I was in paranoia, losing control of my body, going crazy. I remember
It clearly. I was crying too. I felt nothing but fear. There wasn’t any turning
back, I had just killed someone, I can’t just go back peacefully and live
a happy life. Will I go to hell…what’s going to happen next?

These and many other distrubing thoughts raced across my mind. I couldn’t
stop. Kira had talked to me a lot, calming me down, helping me get over it,
and to accept the fact you might have to kill again. That made it worse, and my
insides tightened. After that day, I began calming down. I spent most of the time,
thinking about a lot of stuff. My friends, family, my hometown, my school, my
teacher, and Reina. I was going to miss her a lot. Sighing, I took one
last deep breath, took out a pen, and started writing in my diary.

I wrote about all that has happened during my trip, even the small things.
When I was writing about the fight, my mind went blank for a while,
but I quickly recovered. There were lots of funny stuff that had happened.
We would sing songs with the crew, tell scary stories, and played cards.
They would always beat me at cards though. The fact that I would always
lose to these guys, but always winning against Reina had cheered me up.
Before, Reina was really annoying, but after not being around with her,
I began to think what a great sister she is.

“Land ho! We arrived at Lith Harbor!” a sailor shouted.

I began to have some mixed feelings. The fun times were coming to an end,
but I decided to make the most of it. Both excited and nervous, I closed
my book and met with Autumn, Kira, and a bunch of others on the poop deck.
It was more beautiful than I had imagined. A pack of seagulls flew around
in a circle, surrounding a lighthouse, as if dancing with joy. There was a clear
sky out with no clouds, and the town was filled with crowds of people.

We were by the docks, being greeted by the locals and tourists.
Businesses were booming, restaurants were packed, and inns were
all booked full. It was a lively place, especially since it’s summer time.
I examined my surroundings like I was a curious little boy, eager
to explore, and maybe find a giant treasure box filled with gold!
The thought made me laugh and I reminscinced about when
I was a little kid, thinking there was treasure somewhere on Zipangu.

The first thing on our minds were “Food, food, food!” We didn’t eat breakfast
yet, so we decided to go to a tasty restaurant to eat. It took us forever
to find a restaurant that still had tables avaliable. Our bellies grumbled
along the way. “Oh shut up, I know I’m hungry.” I complained as if
my belly could understand what I was saying. Strangely, It obeyed
and It didn’t grumble until we finally had to eat.

Fish, Crab, Lobster, and a Juicy Steak! We ate to our heart’s content.
Kira ordered lots of beer as well, and got drunk fast. He even tried
making me and Autumn to drink some as well! Our bellys, now satisfied,
settle down peacefully. A waiter with a shocked expression came
and dropped off our bill. I reached for it but Kira lurched at it as if it was more beer.

“What? This isn’t beer. I only…see numbers.”

He reached for some more beer and drank heartily.
Followed by a number of hiccups, he continued.

Lets see…120…120,000 mesos…that’s not so much…”

“WHAT THE HELL??!!!!”

I shouted insantly, shaking the tables with the vibrations. Kira, as if
snapping out of a trance, spit out a mouthful of beer, and looked
at the numbers again, eyes bulging. 1..1…120…120,000 mesos?!!!!
“Is there a problem sir?” a polite waiter answered.
“Haha…no problems at all.” Kira managed to stutter.

Kira put his hands on Autumn’s shoulder. “Do we have enough?”
Autumn had a frightened look on her face. “Um…er…” was all she
could cough out as she counted the number of mesos in her pouch.

Autumn muttered slowly. “We have 78,000 mesos…”

There was complete silence after that. We ended up having to
give all of our mesos to them, and work off the rest of the money
with work. Unfortunantely, we were going to be late to Ossyria,
due to a slight change in plans. They day was very tiring. Today
was Saturday, and the restaurant was always lively. At the end of
the day, I almost fainted! Thankfully, the restuarant owner
considered our situation, and allowed us to sleep here.
Most of the rooms were used for storage, so two of us have
to share a room. Since Kira was experiencing after-effects of alochol,
and the fact that he was going to have a hangover tommorow, he
had to sleep in his own seperate bed.

Autumn moaned. “Man! I wanted to go shopping! Stupid Kira…”

“A bit too late now.” I replied.

I had to share a bed with Autumn because they didn’t have enough.
It seemed like it was a bother for us to be around, so I aplogized.
“It’s alright, I don’t blame you. I blame that drunken idiot of yours.”
He was just across the other room, already asleep, sleeping soundily.
I wonder if he’s even going to get up tommorow! I stared back at the
bed. We would have to sleep together. The bed was small, but enough
to fit us both. I felt my face reddening.

“I can sleep on the floor if you want.” I suggested.

“Eh…no it’s okay. Um…let’s just sleep together.” she stammered.

We crept in the bed. I felt her right next me. We both looked the other
way. I pretended sleeping. It was hard to sleep. I usually shifted
around my bed before I slept, but I couldn’t with her around. When I
was sure she was sleeping, I looked at her. She was really cute like that.
“Ahh what was I thinking?” I shrugged off the thought, and forced myself sleep.
I didn’t know it yet, but the days ahead were going to be filled with lots of danger.

Part End –

I’m sorry to have ended it like this! I had lots of things to write about,
but I couldn’t fit it all in one part, so I ended it here. The next one I write
will be better, I promise! I dunno when I’ll be writing again.

By the way, Merry Christmas!! ^^ I hope I get lots of presents!
