Ch 1 Pt 2 of the joint fanfic

Melissa slipped her Sapphire Staff out of her bag. Zeratul warned Melissa, “Put your staff away.”
She gasped and put it back in here bag.
“Watch how I fight you’ll gain more experience.” Melissa observed how good he was at fighting. Then after a while they both went to find a place to sleep. They ended up sleeping on the ground.

The next day after Melissa had woken up she noticed the Zeratul was gone. She hollered his name but there wasn’t a response. Melissa figured he was outside. He wasn’t there neither. Melissa was heading back in the house because it was to dangerous outside of there. She heard a noise as if something was flying through the air. Two Ilbis were thrown at Melissa and both of them scratched her shoulders. An assassin appeared about ten feet away from her. She dropped to her knees hoping someone would come save her.

Zeratul was getting a bucket of water to drink because he didn’t have much money to buy some drinks for him and Melissa. Zeratul sold Mana and Health potions. He gets them from monsters he fights. But he’s not the only Merchant out there. He’s competing against other Merchants.

Zeratul was now currently heading back to his little house. He was to lazy to put his shoes on so it hurt when he went through the forest to his house. When he got there he heard a noise. It was irritating. Zeratul just ignored it and went inside to put the bucket down. Zeratul picked up his Red China set that he left laying around and went to go get changed in it.

Melissa was shaking because she was afraid that it was the end of her life. She also couldn’t even get up because of the three ibis that had landed in her legs. It was the end of her life. The assassin was slowly running out of Mana but could still fight for a few hours more. Melissa got ready to hit the ilbi with her sapphire staff. The assassin threw the ibis and Melissa deflected them with her staff. She sighed in relief.

Zeratul had heard the noise that the ibis made from when it hit the staff. He quickly looked out the window and saw Melissa. Zeratul went to get his Steel Slain but, he couldn’t find it. “Darn it. . .” He whispered. He searched the whole house and didn’t find anything. Zeratul couldn’t fight without his Slain. “Should I fight?” he asked his self. Zeratul decided to fight and rushed outside.

It was still an unfair match even with Zeratul because he didn’t have his Slain. He pulled out a Mokbi with his bare hand and aimed at the assassin. Zeratul launched the Mokbi as hard as he could but failed. It dropped about fifty feet short. He started panicking. “I’m finished,” he moaned. The assassin came charging at Zeratul rapidly firing ibis at him. Only two of the throwing stars hit Zeratul. It wasn’t a serious injury but it was big enough to make him collapse.

The next day Melissa woke up in a hospital. A nurse was sitting in a chair with Melissa’s staff across her lap. She asked, “Where’s Zeratul?” The nurse said, “Oh, he your friend?” Melissa sighed and said, “Yes, wasn’t he there with me before I arrived here?” The nurse replied, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Zeratul woke up in a dark place. He went to go stand up but he had hit his head on something hard. It took him a while to realize that he was buried alive. Zeratul was kicking trying to get out but he had failed to. It was true he was going to die. He started to cry but then he heard a voice but, he couldn’t here what the people were saying. Zeratul wasn’t buried alive after all but he was going to. Or was he? He started to open the door again but it wouldn’t budge. Zeratul feared that he if he didn’t get out in a week or two he would die of starvation.

Zeratul decided to go to sleep.
