Genesis of Shadows-Part 1

The day arrived, we we’re finally going to depart from our hometown, onto our neighboring continent. Our bags were packed and we we’re at the docks. Shanks, the captain of the ‘Sterling’ was awaiting the other familys to arrive.

I sat on my breifcase playing with some wooden tops that my brother had given me before departing into eastward lands. Sadly, we’ve not heard of him since months ago. I’ve always had a facination with tops and how they span, swirling, unstopable, and they’ve always been important to me, a keepsake from my brother.

The horn sounded and I suddenly looked up in surpirse, The boat was leaving!!, I hurridle pocketed my wooden top, picked up my breif case and ran towards the plank. Shanks grasped my hand and pulled me onto the dock with one quick heave. I thanked him and quickly scurried through the crowds of familys looking for my own. I found them towards the end of the boat, sitting near the edge on their breifcases. We wern’t very rich, much like the other familys riding with us and were hoping to start a better life from scratch.

The boat commenced moving with a jerk and the sails droped to catch the afternoon winds. with a slight drop into the everlasting nothingness below the clouds, we evened out, corrected our selves and our little area, and continued on course. It seemed like hours passed as I subconsiously played with the wooden top, thinking of what might await us in the new land, I thought of friends, companions, maybe brother was there, waiting for us…
‘Black Sails!!!” I awoke suddenly from the daydream of happyness and remebered the horrible folktales that my parents told me about when I was young, and in every one of them, only one thing had black sails:

Pirates

~~~ Here’s a little connection with this story and my character, I found a set of wooden tops which I based Sirsolo on, they were his first set of stars, The ‘Brother’ is my first highest level character, an Ice Lighning Wizard whom I abandoned for Sirsolo ~~~
