MAPLESTORY: Paths, Chapter 6

CHAPTER 6:
Lith Harbor

*There was a strong pain on Xeno’s left shoulder*

Xeno quickly sat up and grasped his left shoulder as he awoke from his dream.

“What the hell mann?!” he said to himself. “Mann… that really hurt.”

Xeno looked around to see if Troy or Miro were awake. Apparently, they both were still asleep. Xeno stared at Miro and thought *Troy must’ve really hit her hard*. He then looked up at the sky to figure out what time it was exactly. There was a few more minutes until the sun rose.

Xeno stayed up waiting for the other two to wake up. As he waited, he practiced his archery. The sun was already up and Xeno had already made and used nearly fifty arrows.

He carefully aimed at the center of a tree’s bark when he noticed two soul arrows coming towards his head. He quickly jumped out of the way and barely dodged death. He traced the path of where the soul arrows came from and saw that it was released by Miro, who was readying another soul arrow. Seeing that Miro was serious about this, Xeno changed his expression and readied two arrows. Xeno began running toward Miro and released his arrows. With great accuracy and precision, Miro canceled out his arrows with her soul arrows. Xeno became surprised but continued rushing toward her and readied another pair of arrows. As he began loading his bow, he was already within twenty feet of her. Miro summoned her soul arrow once again and with speed that only a thief can compete against, it seemed as though she had disappeared and reappeared in front of Xeno.

Miro had almost released her soul arrows when a loud roar had stunned both Xeno and her. They both fell to the floor unable to move for a few seconds. To their surprise, the loud roar was Troy’s ‘Shout’.

“Sorry about having to knock you out and taking you with us, Miro, but we had to leave in a hurry…” said Troy. Troy went on with explaining to Miro why he had done what he had to do.

“I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to Athena” said Miro, sadly.

“Sorry, Miro, but a Dark Cape member was on his way to Henesys at the time. If we had wasted any more time we might’ve been caught and our plans on our ‘underground’ revolution might’ve been ruined, maybe even causing us our lives. Just know that you are now a key to our revolution’s success, also meaning you are hope to everyone that has suffered under the Dark Cape’s rule.” said Troy, “no pressure, of course.” (F2)

Miro gave thought to this for a few seconds and then said, “I see… so now I have the ability to make Athena’s dream come true. And the three of us will go through this together until we win? *Troy (F2)* Right Xeno?”

Xeno looks at Miro and pauses then says, “… yeah… together.”

Miro smiles and says, “Alright. Then I promise not to attack you anymore.”

Xeno (F6) says, “uhhhh, okay.”

“Now let’s get going to Lith Harbor. It should only be about half an hour away from here.” Said Troy.

As they came closer to Lith Harbor, they began to smell the fresh, clean ocean scent and saw the sun rise from the borders of the far off ocean of the small city.

Lith Harbor is a small, beautiful city inhabited by financially low mages. Lith Harbor is basically the city most mages go to if Orbis’ residential are just too expensive or if they are unwanted. Other mages live there because of the fact that it was the city that Grendel was born in.

“Nice place huh?” said a young looking mage. Xeno and Miro jumped from the surprise. Troy stopped to look at the mage. Troy was kind of astonished at the fact that the mage was already able to use ‘Teleport’ at such a young age.

The mage was pretty short and wore a blue wizard robe and a blue jester. He held a very rare staff called the ‘Maple Staff’. He was a scrawny looking kid and Troy thought he seemed to be a very smart and powerful looking cleric.

Xeno made a quick observation of the mage and thought, *he doesn’t look too good*.

“I wouldn’t walk in that city if I were you guys…” the young mage said.

CHAPTER 7:
Not wanted

“My name’s Grendal by the way… with an ‘a’. Sorry for the scare I gave you.” Said the mage.

  1. hmm. Nit-picking time! (all in friendliness, don’t worry. ) Miro seemed to have trusted Troy and Xeno too easily: I mean, you can’t like, switch from ‘IMMAKILLCHU’ mode into ‘Uh, okay, so I’m involved in a gigantic conspiracy and it’s prefectly fine.’ mode. And it wasn’t clear that Grendal had used teleport. You just made him speak up like that, and I assumed he spoke from afar. :/

And you skip from present tense to past.

you said: “Xeno looks at Miro and pauses then says, “… yeah… together.”

Miro smiles and says, “Alright. Then I promise not to attack you anymore.”

    Xeno (F6) says, “uhhhh, okay.”

“Now let’s get going to Lith Harbor. It should only be about half an hour away from here.” Said Troy.”

And what does this sentence mean?

‘Lith Harbor is a small, beautiful city inhabited by financially low mages.’

Financially low? Use ‘poor’, you’ll confuse less people. ‘Financially disadvantaged’ can do too, but you’re just making things complicated.

hmm. Nothing else I can see. Keep it up 😀
