The Warriors Path Part 3

The Warrior’s path Part 3

The girl closed the journal and looked over at the boy she’d found, unconscious, outside the entrance to the Sleepywood dungeon, she looks over to where he’s been lain down in bed. He’s about 6 ft, with medium length, brown hair; his face is dirty and unshaven and his body is surprisingly clear of cuts and bruises, even though she had found him half dead with blood seeping out of every possible gap of the chain mail suit he wore. That very same suit was hanging next to him, now rid of blood and rust after she had thoroughly cleaned it. She sighed, the girl was roughly 5 and a half feet tall with long auburn hair and dark eyes to match she wore a bathrobe after just after having a bath earlier to get rid of the stains on her skin from cleaning him and his armour.

Darkness all around, a light, fighting beasts in the darkness, they scream and fall by the hundreds, they stop, they turn, they flee, they flee from me…

She looks up at the wall clock and sees that it’s nearly 6:30 and gets up from her chair with a sigh.
“Nearly dinner time” she says to herself and walks into the kitchen waving her arms to make the pots, pans, knives and vegetables levitate and begin cooking, while she selects a cookbook from a shelf.
“What will we have tonight?” she says to herself with a smile, while she flicks through the pages, “ah, here we are, we’ll have vegetable soup”. She puts the book down and walks back to where her guest was passed out on the sofa bed.

…Not from me, from the beast, the beast in the shadows, eyes glowing like fire, a roar that drowns the senses, the light, so close, yet so far away, must fight, must kill, kill!, KILL!

Only to see he wasn’t there.
“Oh shi-“ she never got to finish her sentence, because a strong hand clamped over her mouth, muffling her startled scream and something sharp was pressed to her throat.
The levitating cooking utensils in the kitchen clattered loudly to the floor as she lost her concentration.
“Where am I?!” said a voice, right by her ear.
“MMMPFF”
“I’ll release my hand so long as you do not scream”
She nodded slowly
“You’re in Sleepywood” she said quickly “I found you unconscious outside Sleepywood Dungeon, I’m a friend, please don’t hurt me” and she started to cry.
All of a sudden he released his grip and the sharp object on her throat was taken away.

We sat there eating her soup in silence, who could blame her? I could have killed her, I could have killed her without a moments thought, I looked around the room, nothing special, but from what I could see, she was a cleric, experienced, she had a good set of equips, golden pride, circle winded staff, and a full blue fairy robe set, with blue magic shoes, and a shiny pair of blue lutias.
She must really like blue.
I looked around more and noticed my journal on her desk, “so” I said “I see you’ve been reading my journal?”
She looked away, turning red in the cheeks, clearly embarrassed that I had noticed her curiosity.
“W-well I…” she stuttered.
“Never mind” I said, visibly relieving her and she went back to eating her soup. Instead I asked for her name, and to that she sprayed her soup.
“My name?” she asked.
“Your name” I replied.
“My, um, name is Katrina” she blushed, “but my friends call me Cat, for short”
She looked at me “what about you?”
“Me?”
“Yeah, what’s your name?”
I was taken aback, “I, er, I…don’t know”
“You don’t know?”
“Yeah, I, um, can’t remember my name, but all I know is it starts with a J”
“Uh huh…”
I looked at her sheepishly as a few more minutes of silence followed, I stroked my face thoughtfully and realised how unshaven it was.
I got up and announced that I was going to have a shave, and took my razor out of my pack; I could feel a headache coming on.
“But you don’t even know where the bathroom is” Katrina exclaimed.
“I’m guessing it’s somewhere upstairs” I pointed over to the stairs.
“Ok then, just don’t go through anything of mine”
“Fine, I won’t” I said as I climbed up the winding staircase, my head throbbing.
