So I was innocently wandering through Maple, thinking to relax after the crappy paper this morning (Oh yeah, my Major MAJOR exams just started and boy did it start off bad. But that isn’t MMO related, so back to the topic). It was a normal day. I started with Gemina, smashed some Jr Sentinels to happy bits, and finally levelling her up to 26 with one last Huckle quest, which happened to be her eleventh level-up from Huckling. ^^ Guess how many Tower Scrolls she has in her inventory.
Then I logged into Gastropoda and bummed around Omega Sector for a while, finishing off a couple of Omega quests, teasing the Mesorangers for their strange, strange names (I mean, Hoony and Gunny? What’s next, Funny?), tagging after a random Cleric to see her level up (I famed her, just for fun ^^), and guiding another cleric around the place.
And all that amidst the dark mutterings of my friend declaring how Maplers are actually sadists, running around killing cute creatures by the hundreds. Quoting him:
‘I mean, you are magically transported to a magical fairyland, right? And what do you do? Pounce on the first cute, puffy mushroom you see and kill it.’
Alright, if you put it that way.
I tried to complete the DNA cell quest, The History of Zeta Leticulan, from the Black Mesoranger. It started out alright, the first Zeta Gray I killed dropped a cell straight away, and I got the Ultra Gray’s cell pretty quickly. But after countless of Barnard Grays, Chief Grays and endless channel hopping in search of Chief Grays, I never got the last two cells I needed.
But I had fun locating the Chief Grays, which is positively my most favourite Gray (I mean, how can you resist that bobbing little staff that he carries? I want to steeeal it. ^_^ I took some SSes of him and his cute old-ness; maybe when I have time after my exams, I’m going to make a emoticon with them).
So I got tired of Omega Sector really quickly and logged off to get onto SilverFx. I whisked her off from Orbis and straight to Aqua Road, to finish up the Aqua quests and finally get my hands on that Relax Chair. And when I was climbing back up Orbis Tower to get to Leatties, I suddenly lost sight of my character while trying to climb up the stairs through a mob of people and Jr. Pepes. I had my eyes trained on Silver’s unmistakable combination of White Polyfeather Hat and Rose hair, before I realised that I was looking at two of that and I wasn’t looking at myself.
It turned out that it was someone else with the same exact hair and same exact hat. She even had the exact same Chloro and carried the Asianic. How often does that happen, when you meet an accidental twin in Maple?
We met again while I was busy poking the Leatties puffballs. (The sound they make when they die is so cute. Like, psssh*pop!* Of course, when I told that to my friend, it inspired another dark muttered round of the Theory of Maple Sadism.) We chatted a bit, and to our surprise, found that we were even the same level! Talk about a small world.
Of course, I asked if we could take a SS together, and so we did! ^^
[1] The official SS
[2] When I first saw her
[3] ZOMG we are even the same level?!
[4]
So, yeah, that’s all.
[Edit] Major edit. The initial entry was done in a rush, because the com lab was shutting down and I didn’t have time to email the SSes over to myself. SilverFx wouldn’t have an entry that short, uh uh.
Cookies for thee, reader~
LOL haha, well never happened to me before
Gasp, that better not be that Rocky that we all hate and disrespect.
WHOAmg! Freaky! I saw a pair of clones once, but they had practically the same name, so I’m assuming their attires were planned to be the same. Not coincidence. =D
But that’s awesome!
You played Maple Story in a com lab!?!?! I would have never dared to do that T.T
Ha I only got my chief gray cell after killing 45 chief grays. Woke up at 5am and hunted them till 7am for two days. Wanna see how many cells I have?
@devilrymage: One? XD You can only get one cell, right?
@RandomGuy: You wouldn’t believe the things they did in my com lab. It all stopped when the Supreme Authority stormed the lab, of course, but still. The techies are lazy, so the gaming mice come out to play.
Never did that quest, DD
Itachi was laming about there? o.0
I would never play maple in com lab either ><
*shudders at the thought of my teacher coming in*
@Annikabelle: That Itachi person’s monkey’s name fooled me, alright. I was like, huh, since when Maple allowed people to name their characters GMA.
haha didnt know u were blogging while u were mapling, signed up to find that thread u showed me last time and chanced across this. And the last time i met a clone, we both went nice hairdo dude =P
Cheers,
Imppala
Im going to make two mages named BlackWaltz2 and BlackWaltz3 with the appropriate attire.
Oh well, no one will get the reference.
Oh well, no one will get the reference.”
im pretty sure that it is a reference to FF9 i love that char
I’ve met quite a few clones of myself throughout my entire time on Maple Story. They were usually in the low levels, though.
This talk about maple sadism is a bunch of bullcrap. I can’t imagine how anyone could take such a view to a cool game like this.
As always, excellent writing! Oh, and hopefully your exams get better!
Lol, someone else who thinks the leatty death sound is cute! XD
And I’ve met my Mapletwin before, I wish I had kept the screenie but my comp went poof and I had to reformat the harddrive, I was unable to save anything (T_T)
Man, you are lucky, playing maple in a com lab. They don’t even download it into the com!
@Imppala: There’re lots of things you don’t know, dude. Welcome to MMOtales. ^^
@Tninja: Why not? It’s logical, if you think about it. I mean, in the real world, would you run around killing cute little kittens by the hundreds? And it’s a joke, after all. Thanks for the luck.
@Roisin: Miff about the reformat. I know how that feels: my computer crashed once before, and they had to wipe all my drives out. Poof went all my Singapore-Malaysia-Thailand gateway Maple SSes and all my MP3s.
