I’ll take a stab at it: ATTN MRBASIL. Anyway, I’m sure you’ve all had a bad experience with an auction scammer or someone who avoids you in Maple so that you can’t do the trade and exchange feedback, or someone who had ended up getting that item or sold the item you bought to someone else and politely asked you if it was okay if you both exchanged neutral/positive feedback despite what had happened, but I don’t think you’ve had an experience like this one.
Sorry if this is kind of long. Bear with me.
Last week I had about 5 auctions up for Wild Boar teeth (I don’t know how that ended up working since usually it tells me I can’t have more than 2 ongoing auctions for the same item), starting bid at 3k and auto-win at 10k (from what I could remember, they would sell for 100 each; but then again, that was at the beginning of Broa and not many people want to buy WB teeth anymore). One of them someone auto-won, he ended up later telling me that he didn’t need them now and we exchanged positive feedback anyway, just for the sake of it.
This other guy placed a starting bid on the other four, when less than a day was left for the auctions to end. They ended, he sent me a message through Basil (quite soon after he’d sent it I received it), giving me his IGN and saying he’s already online. So I alt-tab back to Maple, and whisper him. No answer. Okay, I said, I told him to contact me when he got back from being afk. He never contacted me and I ended up having to go to bed.
The next time I go on Basil he asks for my IGNs. I told him the two I use the most even though I could be on any of the four first IGNs listed in my BasilID. The next time I sign on I track his IGN and he’s online. I try whispering him. He doesn’t respond.
Then I go on Basilmarket later and he sends me this message: “dude. . . buddy me in order to make this easier. . .my nick is donpinga”. So I added him to my buddy list. He wasn’t on when I had added him but the next day when I signed on, he was. I contacted him through buddy chat, and then through whisper. Neither did he respond to. I then attempted to invite him to Maple Messenger; maybe he couldn’t see my chat because he was in a flooded map. He wasn’t accepting chat invites.
A few minutes later, he signed back on (whether he got kicked off, lagged out, went on mule, whatever). I immediately sent him about 10 lines of chat regarding our auction and his avoidability. I gave him time to answer. He didn’t. After about 5 minutes I stated that he obviously could care less about this auction, it’s obvious that he’s avoiding me for never contacting me or replying to any of the times I attempted to contact him, and said that if he doesn’t contact me then I’ll be leaving negative feedback. I also noted the fact that I could give 4 negatives, not just one.
So I waited, he never responded. I deleted him from my buddy list and went on with my usual training and chatting with friends.
Earlier today (well, yesterday technically), I didn’t find him online nor did I find a message in my inbox at Basil, so I left him 4 lines of feedback. The first one was negative, the last 3 were neutral. See them here. [ link ] You can see the horrible (-4) feedback he left me here. [ link ]
Tonight when he saw my feedback I left him (oh my god, one whole negative and three neutrals!), he finally contacted me (though not in game, of course. He doesn’t talk in-game).

You never talked to me when I tried whispering you and never responded when I talked to you in Buddy chat nor in whisper. I tried inviting you in Maple Messenger but you had that disabled. Give me 4 negative feedback for nothing I did wrong, I’ll discuss this with MrBasil.

Why did you go on my map and not say anything? You just sat there and stared at my character and then left? If you wanted me to know that you came to my channel and map and that you missed me, you would have left me a message by saying something in All. Not once did you say a thing to me in-game, I added you to buddy list and everything–I contacted you as soon as you SIGNED ON. You have NO good excuse as to why you didn’t answer me. You weren’t afk, you were avoiding me.

I didn’t ruin anything. If I remember correctly, I was the one that actually made some form of verbal/textual communication with you, at many different times in-game, and you never contacted me. I’m so sorry you’re not gonna get that great deal of 3k per 100 wild boar teeth, it’s really something I could care less about.

You mean being able to talk to someone in-game? I think that’s quite a good thing. You obviously don’t have that skill, and that’s why I left that giant feedback for you. Be glad I didn’t give you 4 negatives, I would’ve done that if I was mean. With the way you are treating me right now, I wish I did.

To be honest, you’d be the one stuck with the teeth and would end up having to NPC them, thus losing money for yourself just to get some positive feedback. So that was your plan, you didn’t want the items in the first place? BasilMarket doesn’t hold auctions for you to get high feedback so people think you’re trustworthy (when you obviously are not), it’s for people to BUY ITEMS THEY WANT. You don’t even belong at this website.

I already understand that your goal was ultimately to just get a flurry of positive feedback, yes. But because you didn’t reply to any of the times I tried contacting you, I assumed enough that you could care less. I tried contacting you at least 4 times, and I gave you time to contact me in case you were afk–the last time you had just signed on and didn’t reply to me. At that point it was clear that you didn’t want to trade and that was that. Tell me if I am wrong about this. You sign on, I write to you in Buddy Chat, and you never reply. Tell me what it is I’m missing here, because obviously you didn’t want the teeth for anything but feedback. You even admitted it yourself.

Excuse me, if you take basilmarket into any kind of importance at all (and I’m assuming you DO since this +4 positive feedback is such a large priority to you), then you would understand that ANSWERING WHISPERS AND CONSTANT FORMS OF COMMUNICATION WOULD BE IMPORTANT. Don’t give me any excuse about event times, and how you can’t “take the time to read something.” That’s the worst excuse I ever heard. Even if you didn’t want to read them, they’d STILL be on your screen and you’d have to at least glance at it. This isn’t my problem. I don’t care if you give me -4 feedback, because even if I did you’d probably still do so just to spite me for your mistakes.
And no, I didn’t just whisper you once. As I said in an earlier message, I whispered/contacted you in Buddy chat 4 times at least, and NONE of the times did you respond. NOT EVEN WHEN YOU HAD JUST SIGNED ON.
. . .And you’re not using time to write these replies because you care about these deals, it’s because you type slow and have to keep backing up your contradictions with poor excuses, that’s all.

He never explained to me why he didn’t respond to me when I contacted him when he signed on. Even now he’s avoiding me. He avoided pretty much everything I brought up and just kept saying “im sorry u feel that way. .” and “u can think that. .”
This is really the worst guy I’ve ever come across in trading. Sure there’s avoidance, but this guy’s trying to act like he did nothing wrong. I’m sorry if I can’t wait another 4 days just to spend it getting avoided by some noob who can’t do a simple trade.
I always regret not leaving the correct feedback. I’m always too lenient on these people, and then they leave me worse feedback and I end up looking like the bad guy.

wow, that is amazing O__O. i feel sorry for u >_>;; if i WAS in broa id mass defame the heck outta him, even if you didnt want me to. hes being sucha noob, just like all the auctions i get. well, anyways. once i was buying some scrolls. after one day, i sent a PM. then i accidentally clicked “view my basil ID” then i got a TWO negatives. one saying “idk?” “sorry ur a noob”. and then, the next day, i was buying some slime bubbles cuz i needed for a noob quest. then after one day, i said “im busy i cant go on today” (through a pm) then this guy neg me saying “not recommended, contacted twice, didnt meet up” omg, i just sent him a PM saying i was busy >:O i h8 basil noobs -.-
I’ve had that kind of encouter a couple of times -.- Though, I’ve had even worse at certain times. Some guy went on, bought all the items I was selling, pulled the crap that, that guy pulled on you with me. I tried to get ahold of him several times, he ended up messaging me 2 minutes before I had to go to bed, I was in Ludi, he was in Vic. I dropped the items into my bank, told him I’d be back, jumped on my level 10 and ran to where he was at. Told him that I was going to be back once against to give him the last 4 items. He agreed to it. After I logged off, he did as well. He never left me feedback, :/

I recently had the same thing happen to me. Note my three recent negative feedbacks. I work, and I also do A LOT of studying. I have a range of times set in my BasilID, but normally I will PM you the EXACT times I will be on, when I can get them. The two most recent negatives of mine I had PMed the three I had pending trades with, with a span of four hours of time I would be on ONLY that day because the rest of the week would be full because of work and study. Only ONE had the decency to name an exact time like I requested in the PM, one said he’d be on “around 8” and I didn’t want to sit on that character waiting for him because of the other trades. The 3rd never commended. Again I PMed them with a span of times and they refused, thus marking the two negatives. The one thing I can’t stand about Basil.
That happened to be too I found a good deal 2 steel plates for 5k I even invited him he declined I whispered no answer so I gave up.

I had bad experience on basil too, Once, I was selling something and this guy a/w it. So, I sent him a pm on basilmarket asking when would be the best time to meet up with him, and not more then half an hour later, I find that he gave me a negative feedback already that said “!?” I was angry, so I pm’d him again on basil and in the game asking why he gave me that feedback when we didn’t even get to trade. He completely ignored me and all the messages I sent him, so I just had to give him a negative feedback,
Eh well that sucks for you. I wish there was some way you could do something to stop that sort of thing. I’ve only once had a problem with a trade, my fault. It was early in the morning and I accidently npced the bow I had sold on BM. I actually spent the next hour or so looking for it in FM just because I wanted to complete the trade even if it meant I took a loss having to buy a replacement one. I made the auction, I feel that I should uphold it. I couldn’t find one, just some below average and badly scrolled ones, so I pmed the person and told them what had happened, they gave me a neutral, which I am thankful for since they could have given me a negative as was their right, I gave them a positive because they could have, perhaps even should have (I’m not too familiar with the rules about that, but I suspect it should have been negative.), given me a negative, but chose to do otherwise.
