The Flight

Hello all, it’s me again with another poem ^^ and it’s Day 8 of my 3 week Maple fast (aka stay with relatives). But before that, a rant about mosquitoes.

Yesterday I stepped outside for about 15 minutes and got no less than 4 mosquito bites T_T one of them was on my left forefinger (you have no idea how annoying that is >.<) and one is on my wrist (so I have to wear my watch on my right hand which feels strange). Strangely no bites on my right hand. Thank goodness.
If I look at my arm I count 6 bites. That’s a lot. And that’s only my arm. I probably have about two dozen bites total on me *F5* [/rant=offtopic]

Okay, this poem is different from my other poems in two main ways. One, it’s longer, and two, it isn’t based on my experiences. And before you ask, it WASN’T inspired by that other person’s recent blog on Icarus. I started writing this two days ago. That is just a strange coincidence o_O apparently I’m not the only one interested in the subject.

Hope you like it

The Flight~~~

Let me tell you the story
of a boy who wished to fly.
This boy’s name was Icarus
and he took to the sky.

Icarus took a flying pill
he got from the fairy Wing;
it let a human fly with skill
and it tasted fit for a king!

Just then, Icarus sprouted wings
and flew over the city.
From the air he could see many things;
he thought Kerning looked pretty.

In the distance he could see
the city of Lith Harbor.
Looking down, he thought he
could see the shop of the barber.

He flew up north to Perion
but the air was much too foggy.
Haze and mist that was there an eon
made him start feeling groggy.

Icarus went to Henesys
and waved to all the newbs.
At Florina, he saw a couple kiss
and men in flowery tubes.

He visited Ossyria next;
it wasn’t hard to fly there.
Too bad he couldn’t read the text
on the signposts from the air.

Icarus had much fun and play
flying all around.
I wish I could fly, too, for a day
but I’m stuck on the ground.

  1. Cute. The part ‘tasted fit for a king’ sounded a little forced, but still alright overall.
