Numero Trois

Mark turned to face the stranger. “And who the eff are you?
“I’d tell you, but then I’d hafta kill you,” the stranger said, grinning and running his hand cooly through his unruly black hair.
Mark glared at him and punched him across the face. “That’ll teach you to mind your own business”
The stranger grimaced. “You think so, eh?” he answered, raising his fist menacingly.
“Yeah!” Mark shot back.
“GUYS!” Blair yelled, emerging from the Ladies’ room.
All the other customers stared, as did Jessie.
Blair separated then boys. Eric turned to face Jessie and re-adjusted her Sonata for her. Jess smiled weakly and gave him a grateful look. The stranger just winked. Jess felt her cheeks redden. And with that, he was gone. But he had left something. She picked it up, to realize it was a glove. Giddily, she linked her arm into Blair’s and in her head, vowed to return it. No matter what it took.
“Jess! Don’t you dare walk away from me!” Mark yelled, his face flushed with anger. Jess just smiled smugly to herself and kept walking.

“Hey, that guy was cute, huh?” Blair asked, nudging Jessie.
“Yeah, he was,” Jess answered.
“What are you holding?” Blair pointed to her hand.
Jess remembered his glove clutched tightly in her hand. Her grip was so strong that her knuckles were white. She had forgotten she had it. Jess held it out for Blair to see.
“It’s the stranger’s glove, isn’t it?” Blair asked.
Jess nodded, “I’ve got to return it.”
“How will you find him again?”
“I will, don’t worry about it,” Jessie insured Blair.
Or will I? She thought to herself doubtfully. But being her determined self, she never gave up on something she wanted.
By the time they got home, it was nearly 2 PM. Despite the time, Jess and Blair were tired. So Jess gave Blair some blankets to sleep on the floor and she slept on the couch. Very soon, they fell asleep.
When Jess woke up, Blair was still sleeping and it was 5PM. She couldn’t go back to sleep, so she decided to train. She went outside, cold wind hitting her soft, pink cheeks and blowing her long brown hair into her dark eyes. She decided to train at copper drakes, so she took a scroll to Perion and when she got there, she spotted a bunch of thieves in dark clothing.
They looked familiar, but she couldn’t place it. But she recognized that they were a group of thieves that stole valuable items. So on her better judgement, she decided to steer clear of them. Jess turned to go another path, but they called to her.
“Hey, dollface,” said someone who seemed to be the gang leader, “Come join us.”
Jess responded with a cold, “Not even in your dreams.”
The other gang members snickered. Their gang leader seemed shocked but recovered fairly quickly. He walked up to Jessie and put his arm around her. Casually, he placed an affectionate kiss on her cheek. Jessie struggled to get him off but he had a firm grip on her shoulder.
“Aww, come on.. It’ll be soo fun! Don’t you think?”
“Leave me alone!” Jessie shrieked.
The gang leader raised an eyebrow in amusement. “You must not know who I am,” he started to introduce himself.
“I don’t care,” Jess responded, cutting him off.
He took her hand in his. Jess slapped it away.
“Didn’t you hear her? She wants you to leave her alone.” It was the stranger, coming to the rescue. Again.
“Why dontcha come make me?” he taunted.
The stranger smirked and tightened his Silver ID. Then, he hasted himself, moving so fast that no one could see him. Suddenly, he reappeared behind the gang leader. The stranger jabbed him with his deadly fin and the gang leader was knocked out cold. Just in case, he checked for a pulse to find that there was one.
“You could hardly call that a fight…” the stranger mused, “Soo.. Who’s next?”
The other gang members looked panicked, and cowardly fled. The stranger laughed.
“Thanks for helping me again,” Jess said, “You’re really awesome.”
Eric smiled and waved it off as if saving pretty girls was what he did everyday. “Anytime… Oh and, I didn’t get your name, miss..”
“Its Jess,” she blushed slightly.
“That’s a pretty name. I’m Eric,” he greeted, “Umm.. So I guess I’ll see you around?”
“Yeah, maybe,” Jessie grinned.
The stranger turned and left. Jessie felt the cold and shoved her hands in her pockets to find that something was there. When she pulled it out, she realized she had forgotten to give Eric’s gloves back.
