I’m rather sure everyone’s heard the term “If you have nothing good to say, say nothing at all.” Well.. this is where my trouble lies. I enjoy playing many games, and to my enjoyment I’ve found that there’s something great in every one. Then, I’ll agree that the old saying has its own downfalls. There’s a reason to complain about things sometimes, like when there’s a fatal flaw, but not because your preferences lie with another game.
I’ll go on playing my games, but I’ve now had a problem where people are hesitant, or even simply refuse to play a game that truely has given much to the MMO community.
Runescape is a great game and some of the things it uses, like Player Moderators, loss of items instead of xp, player killing in every server, and not being purely fighting based makes it very well rounded. Don’t get me wrong, the game isn’t perfect… but there’s a reason why it has thousands and thousands of people playing every minute of the day.
Maplestory is excelent, but it gets just as repetitive as any other game. Runescape is excelent, but it gets just as repetitive as any other game. Silkroad is excelent, but it gets just as repetitive as any other game.
Notice a trend? The memories I’ve gathered from these MMOs I’ve played weren’t about what the graphics looked like… but instead, they were about the friends I made. As silly as it may seem, even simple Neopets has its own charm. And make no mistake, every game is played by every crowd… Maplestory isn’t played only by children because it isn’t gorey and violent. Neopets isn’t only played by people under 18 because its content is wrapped around cute creatures.
My challenge to you is to break away from the ordinary. Next time your game is down for maintenance or for another cause, try looking through the homepages of the games listed on this site. Pick one that you’ve maybe heard one of your friends talk about before. Maybe a game that gets alot of attention. Try a game that YOU think YOU would enjoy.
These are my thoughts, and if you chose to the the time out of your day to read this, you have my sincere thanks.
If you did not, and simply use the comment space as a place to shout out to others that you’re biased and closed minded, then shame be upon you.
Have fun playing the games you enjoy. After all, that’s what they’re there for.
not to sound rude or anything but you’re an adult I’m I right?
Actualy no, I’m 15.
Sorry runescape SUCKS the blue dog no affense
Then don’t play it, simple as that. You don’t have to chase potential players away because you don’t enjoy this game, it’s rather useless to argue over the validity of your statements because they aren’t well presented. If you have a question like ‘how could you like that game? I did not find anything pleasing about it’ or maybe if you explained that if I enjoyed this game so much, perhaps I would enjoy your game far more.
