Fable of Oak Chap. 4: Mission Start

First off, I changed the name a bit. It sounded better to me.
Second, I’m attempting to upload the character pics, but it may take a while. MMO doesn’t agree with my computer.
T.T
Anyways, 4th installment. Read on.

(And to anyone that PM’ed me about copying other’s ideas of using a 3rd-person view in a story, I’m the one who made it up. Read the rest of my blogs. And I’m NOT copying Fpooned, he posted like that, I’m writing a story.)

Hope that clears everything up.

Julian

Don’t stop running. Don’t turn around. Don’t trip over. All these thoughts ran through his mind as Julian sprinted through the cliffs of Perion. Rocks perched on the ledges of mountains, threatening to crush him, but he payed no mind. He had failed his mission, and would pay for it in more then just broken bones.

“Bitch!” he said aloud. “Why did she have to interfere anyways?” It was supposed to be a simple and clean job. Blow up part of Perion Market to divert attention, and then kill off all, if any, witnesses. Luckily, Raven had only been seen by one homeless monk, and the explosion should have killed him. But some chick just happened to see him fall on the ground and she healed most of the wounds.

Damned Paladins.

So now he was assigned to kill the witness. And he got side-tracked and almost caught by the chick who saved him.
So now he had to go face MP and explain. Awesome.

This is living hell.

Emily

Ha. Falerixy. That’s a really good one. I’m using it again.
She walked through the revolving doors of the Perion Thiri HQ. All around her, mouses clicked, screens flashed on peoples’ faces. Everyone was working hard. That explosion was important. It was made by a Edge minion, Thiri’s rival, and a similar explosion had appeared in Ocavian city. Emily kept walking past the workers until she reached the elevator. Striding inside, she pushed “B”. It made a slight humming noise as it went up. Elevator music serenaded her as she waited.

*DING*

She walked out and took her place in the auditorium with the rest of the crowd.
The boss’s face appeared on the screen a few minutes later. Sound died, attention focused.

“Good day. As you all know, the Edge clan has planned an explosion in every main village…”

Falerix ran up into the room beside his baby sister. ‘Falerixy?’ he mouthed to her.
She shrugged and pointed up.

“…There have already been two explosions, one in Ocavian city and right here, in our beloved Perion. We do not know the reason, but I want you, the Elitists of Perion Thiri, to find out.”

Tensions changed. Everyone in the room stood a little straighter.

“I have conveyed this message to the Ocavian Thiri HQ as well. Work is under-way. Now, good luck.” The screen faded.

Slowly the crowd resided into their work areas.

A young boy ran up to the siblings, crashing into Emily.

Falerix watched them roll on the floor. “Watch it,” he muttered, and he headed for the elevator.
Grinning, Emily looked up. Isaac lay on top of her.

“Get up, not in the HQ,” she said on the floor.

“Aw, all right.” He got up and dusted off his robe.

“Don’t you have work to do?” she asked.

“Other then running down my girlfriend? No.” He grinning sheepishly. “And by the way, I saw you run into your bro’s house when I was coming here. Any problem?”

“Nothing. Tea party with some girl who got scared of the explosion. So I just introduced myself as the cute little sister.” She made a baby face.

Isaac smirked. “Not the rough, 4IC jutsu-ist of Perion Thiri HQ?”

She shook her head and smiled. “Well, I’m going to Monthesis, look for any suspicious activity. Wanna come?”

“Why wouldn’t I? Nothing to do here ‘cept look at computer screens.”

They walked towards the elevator, hand in hand.

Rebbecca
As she walked out of the brown hospital, her watch beeped and the ring on her left index finger glowed.

“General?” she said into the ring.

“Rebbecca, we’ve got a problem. There has been another incident at Monthesis. Some casualties, and most of my people are out. There might be another explosion soon.”

“Got it. On my way.”

As she bent her knees to jump, she heard a soft knocking sound. Turning around, she looked up and saw Ishuno waving to her.
She jumped. Leaves and dust flew around in her path.

A smile was flashed.

“Hide and seek, anyone?” The voice came from nowhere.

The trio formed a triangle, guarding each other. He saw Rebbecca hold her right shoulder in pain. She needed help, soon.
He looked around. They stood in a flat grassland, surrounded by massive trees. He could still hear the voices of the children over the treetops. And old, broken down temple lay in front of them in ruins, walls crumbling. Silence follow. They could hear nothing but the wind. Isaac smiled. This was his element.

  2. Very well wrighten and surreal chapter. I love how the name of the book pictures a giant tree, coverd in difforent. . . tree stuff. . . o.0″
It also makes it feel like a very interesting series. You know about me and leaves, and what does a leaf holster it self upon? A tree. and when I think about it, even an oak tree! ^_^
