My MapleStory – Part IV

[h]Remember the Name[/h]

My time in the 6x’s is just a blur. I recall going from place to place, visiting all sorts of things. I had such a profound power I never had before. Something for once, I was someone who could make a mark in the game. I accomplished many things, although many however, found it not as astounding as it seemed.

[h]Power Unfolding[/h]
I had achieved to kill a Spirit Viking sometime during my 6x’s. I definitely recall myself spending lots of time to defeat the beastly thing. Unfortunately, I only received 2100 experience for my hard work. Though, in comparison, 2100 experience seemed much more vastly greater than 190 experience, the amount you gained at Coolie Zombies. I never dreamed I could achieve such power to take on such vicious monsters of Ludibrium before. But there I was, standing and obtaining the token of my victory. Although it was a lengthy victory, it proved I could one day be something.

As well as being able to kill monsters during my late 6x’s, I began to find out that I had a growing reputation. I started to get people pass me by and know me without knowing them. These were people who were indirectly friends with me through another friend. Though, words do spread rapidly, I wasn’t aware of the idol I was to become.

[h]He’s a Selfish Liar[/h]

I remember the day I was going to turn to level 70. It was a casual morning where I awoke early as soon as both my parents left for work. I went into the computer room and began my final day’s training. Although, for an unusual incident, something would distract me from my most important experiences in my Maple Story career. *

Around midday, I received a phone call from a friend, and he invited me to dinner that day. It was his birthday celebration, and his parents were inviting me and my brother to a dinner at an Asian restaurant. Contemplating the decision between advancing or putting it another day off to join my friend, I hastily denied my friend. Returning to my room, I obtained a few more drops of experience on my way towards leveling up to 70, and just another step to 3rd Job. Guilt, however, did catch up to me quite fast. I felt ashamed that I put a game before a friend I had known for so long, possibly for 5 or so years, and I didn’t want to attend his birthday dinner over some game with little meaning.

[h]Reaping of a Guilty Conscience[/h]
I called my friend back and I said I was available to go, so he was excited and picked me and my brother up to his house. From there, my friend allowed me to play Maple Story on his computer. I was generally excited about this, and I told my friend of the soon to come accomplishment. My friend was also excited, for this was something that we never thought would ever happen to any of us, including myself, my brother, and my friend. I got very near to leveling up, perhaps somewhere around 93%, and we had to leave to dinner immediately. I sighed, and left the house along with the other people and attended dinner. Dinner was quite fun.

Soon after his dinner party, everyone insisted that I go finish leveling up and advance. The last few bits of experience came quick, and I leveled to 70. I chose to level it up at Jr. Yetis because my friends didn’t feel like going all the way to the Dead Trees to watch me level. I struck the last Jr. Yeti and I leveled to 70. I remember my friend making a Super Megaphone say, “Congratulations to PirateJing on 70! Now you can be a Priestess!” I laughed so hard at that.

[h]Chilling Out[/h]
I did all my quests on advancing, and advanced that night. I had a few of my closest friends along side with me, but not the really old friends I knew. So everything that night went perfectly. I went to a friend’s birthday dinner, I leveled to 70, I advanced to a Chief Bandit, and I got to watch Heroes for the night. I even remember that it was the second episode of the debut of Heroes on NBC. I relaxed at my friend’s house, using my newly profound weapon, a 93 ATK Golden River (I don’t remember the exact Weapon Attack of the item..). I used Assaulter all over the places. I even went to Henesys’ Hunting Grounds 1 and started to Assaulter all of the Green Mushrooms. I don’t know how long I was there for, but I gained a good 5%+ from it. Soon there after, I had to leave.

[h]A Night to Remember[/h]
It was one of the greatest nights of my life. It was something that you achieve, and you feel proud of doing it, because it’s who you are, and what you’ve done to get there. I don’t know how much this game has changed me, but things are rapidly changing my perspective on the game. Not only did I only get stronger, I was unaware of the fame and notoriety I was going to get. I’ll continue my stories in part V.

Thanks for reading, it means much. ~PirateJing
