Words of a Hacker-CH7-

“Michael! I’m so glad you’re all right.” Lily said hugging me tightly.

“If you guys don’t hurry up and pack I’m leaving you two here.” Aaron said stuffing his bag with provisions. Me and Lily broke apart. I went upstairs and started to gather my things. I placed my sack of Mesos into the bottom of my bag after I pocketed a couple thousand Mesos. I carefully folded my Anakamoon and Seraphis and placed them into the bag. Hmmmm…What else do I need? I quickly checked all around my room for anything I needed.

I searched under the bed for anything that might’ve rolled under there. I stared carefully into the darkness. I saw that one of the floorboards was missing. I crawled under the bed and reached into the hole. I felt around the hole until my hand hit a wooden box of some kind. I slowly pulled it out of the hole. I crawled out from under the bed and set the box on my bed. It didn’t have a lock and looked pretty old. Out of curiosity I slowly opened the lid. A blue light filled the room. I opened the box all the way. It was completely empty. I peered into the box and saw a familiar symbol on the bottom of the box.

“It can’t be…” I whispered. I tried to move, but couldn’t. I felt my hand slowly move towards the symbol. I screamed out as my palm touched the symbol. Blue lines traveled up my arm. I finally pulled my hand away. I fell on the ground grabbing my hand. The light slowly started to fade, but left black marks on my arm. They resembled the ones of the symbol in the box. I saw the symbol in the box was gone.

“Michael, I heard you screaming so- Oh my gosh! What happened?” Lily asked rushing to me. She examined the markings on my arm.

“Game guard…..” I said. “I didn’t know it was real. The power source for the Ban.”

“Yeah. It permanently removes Hacker powers from Hackers. Although it is strong you can only use it four times a day. And there is a 30% chance of dying from trying to implant it into your body. So my dad created the full Ban using his blood and the Game Guard. He would leave a container of his blood in the box with Game Guard for three minutes and when he took it out it was Ban. Ban had the readiness of his blood and the power of Game Guard. The perfect anti-Hacker weapon.” Lily explained.

I stretched out my hand and used vac. My bag flew to me. I stared at my hand.

“Why aren’t my Hacker powers gone.” I asked.

“They’ll probably only disappear if you accidentally shoot yourself with the Game Guard.” Lily said. “Oh yeah. You have to use Game Guard as a part of an attack so Holy Arrow is probably the best.”

“You guys! GMs are near! Come on we got to go now!” Aaron called out from downstairs.

“Here. I’ll just quickly bandage you’re arm. No one else can see this.” Lily said quickly tying my arm in white linen. I grabbed my bag and we raced downstairs to find Aaron and Ly at the door. Lily grabbed her bag and we left.

“You guys sure pick the wrong time to be making out.” Aaron joked as we ran away from Lily’s house. I felt my face grow hot and ignored him.

“Hey since we’re not GMs anymore it wouldn’t be morally wrong for Lily to marry a Hacker.” Aaron joked. This thought hit me hard. What he said is true….

We ran away from the town and soon found ourselves in the forest outside of Henesys. We were all panting and breathing heavily. I took a gulp from a bottle of white potion and handed it around.

“What now?” Aaron asked sitting against a tree.

“GMs! I see a Hacker!” I shouted at the top of my voice.

“Michael! What are you-.” Aaron started, but I cut him off his a light Energy Bolt to his chest. He quickly fell to the ground unconscious.

“Sorry Lily.” I said. I struck her with an Energy Bolt, too. She too fell to the ground without a sound.

“Ly let’s go.” I said. I quickly ran from the two bodies with Ly following behind me. Ly was quiet as we ran towards Ellinia. I occasionally looked back to see if anyone was following. I could see the greener trees of Ellinia start to mingle with the trees of Henesys. Almost there.

“Two tickets to Orbis please.” I said to the ticket-seller. I pulled out 10,000 Mesos and passed it through the small whole in the window of the ticket booth. The ticket-seller passed back to tickets. I handed one to Ly and we walked across the station platform. The ship still hadn’t arrived yet.

“Excuse me. When will the next ship be here?” I asked the ticket usher.

“Sorry, but the next one won’t be until morning.” The ticket usher replied. Crap!

“Thanks.” I replied putting on a smile.

“Ly come on.” I whispered. I quickly ran to the edge of the platform. Funny how they never thought to make some safety railings. I slowly laid on the platform. I stuck one leg over the platform. I felt around with my leg until I felt a wooden beam under my foot. I placed both foots over it and peered under the platform. Countless wooden beams were crisscrossing under the wooden platform above. I slowly climbed through the maze of wooden beams until I found a spot where a lot of beams intersected.

I carefully rested myself in a spot where I could lay down without strain. Ly slowly followed. Ly found a spot near mines and laid down, too. I peered downwards to find clouds hovering gently under us. It was dark under platform, but I could see the reddish light of sunset shining from the top of where the platform ended.

“Ly. I know you want to ask why we left Aaron and Lily back there so I’ll tell you. We’re going to The Hole. You know the Hackers there are. I thought about bringing them with us since they are ex-GMs, but I kept thinking about the Hackers there and decided they would kill them GM or not. As long as they are non-Hackers they’re enemies in their eyes.” I said as I slowly fell asleep.

“I’ll miss them, though.” Ly said softly. That was the last I heard as I drifted to sleep.

“Michael….” A soft voice whispered. I slowly opened my eyes. I was still under the platform, but someone was in front of me.

“Jane?” I asked. I tried to get up, but she gently pushed me back.

“I need to go soon so please listen. I know you’re going to The Hole. Just ask the barman and he’ll tell you where Luke’s hideout is. That’s where I’m trapped. Please save me.” Jane said tears forming in her eyes. Tear drops fell on my face.

“I’ll save you not matter what.” I promised. She came towards me and kissed me on the lips. We both stayed like that for a while before parting.

“I got to go.” Jane said through tears. I reached out to try and stop her form leaving, but my hands grabbed empty air. I opened my eyes to find it was the middle of the night.

“Was that a dream?” I whispered to myself. I touched my cheek. It was wet. Jane’s tears.

“She was here.” I whispered. “The faster I get to The Hole the faster I find Jane.” I slowly got up. I woke up Ly and we both crawled back to the top of the platform. The sun was slowly rising. I stretched and sat at the edge of the platform waiting for the boat. Ly was standing behind me. From his silence I guessed he was thinking about something.

“Die!” A voice screeched. I quickly used Meso Guard. The Mesos that were hidden in my clothes released their shield. A crossbow arrow bounced off the golden shield and fell to the ground snapped in half. I released the spell and the shield disappeared. I turned to find a guy standing near the ticket booth. His hair was in patches. One of his eyes was a lazy eye. He gave me the creeps. In his hands was a Gross Jaeger. He loaded another crossbow arrow and aimed at me.

“This time I won’t miss.” He wheezed tilting his head. He released his arrow. I easily dodged it.

“Ly get him from under. I’ll keep him busy.” I whispered running towards the guy that was attacking us. I flipped out my Korean Fan. I grabbed a handful of Mesos and threw them at him using Meso Explosion. A cloud of dust filled the air. I saw Ly go under the platform out of the corner of my eye. I quickly transformed my Korean Fan into a Dragon’s Tail.

I used Assaulter and slashed through the cloud. I expected to clash with the guy’s crossbow, but I only slashed at empty air as I came out of the cloud. I searched around, but couldn’t find him.

“Over here.” His voice called out. I turned towards the voice, but didn’t see him. An arrow appeared out of no where and struck my leg. I quickly pulled out the arrow. He called out a couple more times and I got struck each time.

“Come out already……Hacker!” I called out. I heard him laugh.

“I guess you guessed it already. Yes I am a Hacker. I have the power of ‘invisibility’. I am Jack. I’ve come to kill you Zero under Luke’s orders.” Jack said laughing maniacally.

“Luke?! Where is he?!” I shouted.

“Sorry I can’t reveal that.” Jack replied. “Now shhhhh….We have to finish our game.” Arrows started to fly everywhere. I barely dodged them all. Suddenly a purple arrow hit the ground. Small fragments of it dispersed and multiplied under my feet. They all soon shot upwards cutting my flesh. I cried out in agony. Jack released his invisibility and I saw him in front of me.

I took this chance and quickly charged up a Holy Arrow with Game Guard in it.

Author’s Note: The Holy Arrow with Game Guard will now be called “Ban Shot”

I quickly aimed at him and fired. It struck his chest. A blue circle formed underneath him and released blue light upwards. A red light appeared around him, but was washed away by the blue light. After all the red light was gone the circle disappeared and the blue light faded. He fell to his knees.

“I’ll kill you!” he shouted running towards me with his crossbow. I shot him with a Holy Arrow and he fell backwards onto the ground.

“Ly now!” I yelled. The wood under Jack cracked a little bit as one of Ly’s claw strated to come out.

“He can’t kill me.” Jack said. He quickly loaded and arrow onto his Gross Jaeger and aimed at the platform. I saw his energy surround the arrow. The arrow turned into metal and he released it. I heard Ly scream from below.

“Ly!” I screamed. I used Assaulter downwards and broke through the wooden platform. I jumped down. An arrow was buried in his chest and a wooden beam. I quickly went towards him, but hole appeared above him. Jack dropped down and aimed an arrow at Ly’s head.

“Let him go!” I shouted.

“Stay back or he dies.” Jack said smiling. He curled his finger around the trigger. I quickly searched my mind for an escape. I clutched the silver locket around my neck. It contained all my memories with Ly. Wait! The locket!

“Ly. I release you!” I shouted holding the locket in the air. Ly’s body started to shake violently.

“What’s going on?” Jack shouted.

“Ly’s going back to his original state.” I replied.

Ly’s body started to morph. It grew bigger and silver hair was growing everywhere. In a matter of seconds he became a full Lycanthrope. He howled and slashed everywhere. Ly grabbed Jack and stared at him. Jack started to scream in the air as Ly dropped him into his mouth. I heard his bone’s crunching as Ly chewed on Jack’s body. I felt sickened as blood dripped down his mouth.

“Good bye Ly.” I whispered. I ran towards him and grabbed a sac of Mesos. I jumped up the whole Jack had made and dumped the bag of Mesos into the hole. I used Meso Explosion destroying some of the beams. I watched as Ly fell into the clouds in his monster form.

I didn’t want to kill you, but in you’re monster form all you’re human memories would be gone. You wouldn’t be the Ly I knew. A foghorn sounded as the ship to Orbis arrived. It was huge. I was surprised it could fly on its two motors.

“Farewell Ly.” I whispered as I boarded the ship.

  1. awww man. make more fast cause i love ur stories. they fun d(^.^)b two thumbs up. too bad ly had to die.

  2. Ooh, nice chapter. Now Zero is travelling alone. What will happen when he reaches the hole? Will he die or will he get killed(no chance of surviving)?

  3. Oblivion said: ” Me and Lily broke apart.”

    Lily and I broke apart.

I believe staccato is a musical term meaning “detached”, or “apart”.

  4. At the end of the second paragraph and at the beginning of the third, you used the word “I” to start a sentence eight times in a row. Thought I might point that out.

You ask if it was two fast. I thought Ly’s death was premature. He coulda had a lot of potential.

  5. I agree with AznRiceFan. He till had a lot of potential plus with the search for Jane I found it a bit too premature for my liking. But I can’t have what I want, it IS your story, and I still love it either way. ^^ Keep it up!This is my favourite MMOTale Story out there!

    Regards,
    Rob
