Words of a Hacker-Ch6-

“Ly are you ok?” I asked as I halted the healing. He had opened his eyes for the first time since yesterday.

“What happened to the battle?!” He shouted sitting up quickly.

“It’s over” I whispered staring at my palm. My Hacker powers. Gone. Just like that.

“What’s wrong?” Ly asked with a worried look. I told him the whole story of the battle. After I told him he remained silent.

“Michael!” Lily’s voice called out. I saw her run into the room. She was breathing quickly. “I got good news! The Ban Luke had was a fake!” Fake? I started at my Korean Fan on my bed. I reached out my left hand. I felt excitement grow inside me as it shook a little bit and flew into my hand.

“But be careful. You won’t be able to sue it at full power for a while.” She warned.

“Don’t worry.” I said happily sheathing my Korean Fan. We heard someone knocking on the door.

“I’ll get it.” Aaron shouted from downstairs. We heard the door open and Aaron and the stranger talking downstairs. Lily walked over to the window and peered outside.

“It’s the Captain!” Lily shrieked. “You just got to meet him!” She grabbed my hand and started to take me downstairs. I loosened myself from her grip as we came close to the front door.

“Lily, are you crazy?” I whispered. “He’s a GM. I’m a Hacker.”

“We just won’t tell him.” She whispered back as she pulled me along. “Hi Captain!” I froze.

“Lily. Why is this Hacker in you’re house?” he asked calmly. Lily and Aaron looked confused. I tried to move my body but it wouldn’t move. I grabbed some Mesos and dropped them on the ground using Meso Explosion. I quickly Teleported upstairs.

“Ly! We’re leaving now!” I shouted grabbing my bag. I opened the window and jumped out. Ly followed quickly behind me. We landed on the next rooftop and kept jumping across roof tops.

“You’re under arrest Hacker.” Called out the voice of the GM captain. I sped up and went faster. Ly easily kept up. Unfortunately so did the GM captain. He leaped into the air and landed in front of me. He pulled out his Cursayer. I gripped my Korean Fan tightly.

“You expect to fight with-“ he started but he stopped as my Korean Fan transformed into a Dragon’s Tail. I used Assaulter. He just stood there as I rushed forward. As I slashed at him he stabbed his dagger forward. My attack stopped. He….he…. he just stopped my Assaulter with his dagger.

I jumped back but it was too late. He had already started his counter-attack. He used Band of Thieves, but instead of attacking me the Bandit Guardians just grabbed me.

“Now Michael. Why run from your older brother?” Sean said bringing his dagger to my neck. I tried to move but couldn’t. He grabbed the locket around my neck and yanked it off.

“Ly stay still!” he commanded. Ly un-willingly obeyed and stood where he was.

“That takes care of him.” Sean said. “This is an odd reunion. I came because there was some kind of fight but I find my little brother here.”

“Michael!” Lily shouted. She was running towards us with Aaron. “Captain please don’t kill him.” Sean stared at her as if he was about to strike. He walked over to her and held the dagger to her face.

“Your badge please.” He said. She stood there looking confused.

“Captain you don’t mean….You’re taking her GM badge away?” Aaron asked stepping forward.

“I didn’t see you do anything wrong but if you interfere you’ll lose your badge, too.” Sean said. Aaron stood quietly. “Now Lily. Badge please.” He held out a hand. Lily reached into the folds of her robes and grabbed her badge. She dropped it in Sean’s hand. I could see tears in her eyes.

“As of this moment you are no longer a GM. You have been caught helping a Hacker and have committed treason. I’ll let you go without a trial but you will be kept under-surveillance.” Sean said. “Now for you.” He said turning back to me. He pulled out a syringe of Ban. He started to walks towards me.

“Stop!” Lily shouted. Her eyes were red from crying. “My father invented that and he passed it on to me. It rightfully belongs to me and I will not allow you or any other GMs use it.” Sean stared at her for a while before dropping the syringe on the ground. It shattered and the blue liquid soaked into the ground.

“You’ll be taken to headquarters for testing and questioning. If you try to escape your life will not be spared.” Sean said walking towards me. I slashed upwards missing my face by less then an inch. He sheathed his dagger. He pulled out his GM badge and held it in front of my face.

“Seal.” He whispered. I could feel my energy starting to disappear. The Bandit Guardians disappeared with a wave of his hand. “Let’s go.” He said. He pushed me forward and I started to walk. I took on last look at Lily on her knees, crying. Aaron was standing there with clenched hands.

“Ly follow.” Sean said tying the silver locket around his neck. Ly followed us as we grew further and further form Lily and Aaron.

We reached the head quarters of the GMs after a couple hours. Sean showed the two guards his GM badge and they stepped aside as a giant set of doors opened. He walked over to a desk where a woman was typing away on a computer.

“GM #10507: Lily. Removed form duties as of today. And please send out a message. The usage of Ban is no longer in our control.” He said placing her GM badge on the table. The woman picked it up, looked at it, and resumed typing. He led us down a long flight of stairs into a dungeon full of cells. He opened one of the cells.

“You guys stay in here. We’re about a mile under the ground so don’t think of escaping. Here’s this back.” He said throwing me the silver locket. He locked the cell and walked away. We both remained quiet for a while.

“Ly, we’re getting out of here.” I said pulling out my Korean Fan. I tried to make it transform, but it wouldn’t. Stupid Seal is still in effect.

I punched the ground in frustration. Ly stared at me with a worried look. I smiled.

“Don’t worry. We’ll get out of here.” I said.

2 Weeks Later

“The last guar fell asleep.” Ly whispered. I quickly un-buried the small bag of Mesos and grabbed the last of the Mesos. I had vacced these spare Mesos from the pockets of the guards when ever I could. I quickly pushed them into the ground near the caged door. I checked all around the door to make sure all the Mesos were in place.

“Ly I have enough energy for one Meso Explosion. If it doesn’t work I want you to take the last of my energy and destroy the door and escape.” I said stepping away from the door. Ly tried to say something but I cut him off. I suddenly heard footsteps coming down the flight of stairs.

“Pretend to be a sleep.” I whispered into Ly’s ears. We both laid on the straw mat and pretended to be peacefully sleeping. I heard the person fumble with the cage door. I quickly got up to find the person sticking his arms through the metal bars. I quickly grabbed his arms so he couldn’t escape.

“Let us go or I’ll-.” But I stopped as I saw it was Aaron. “What are you doing here?”

“Shhh!” Aaron hissed putting a hand to my mouth. He dug out the last Meso and carefully opened the cage door.

“I’m helping you escape. But stay quiet.” He whispered as we walked out of our cell. “Here. You might need these.” He handed me back my Mesos with some of his. I used Dark Sight as we walked up the flight of stairs. Although Dark Sight only made me transparent it still helped me hide a little bit. Ly carefully hid behind Aaron.

“Walk silently, but when they suspect something run through the hallway.” Aaron whispered as he opened the door at the top of the stairs. In front of us was a long, white hallway. There were numerous doors on either side and GMs were casually walking in and out of rooms. Aaron walked straight down. I slowly followed behind careful not to make a sound. A couple GMs asked Aaron who the “kid” was, but they were satisfied with his answer of brining him to the GM court to be tried.

After about five minutes I froze. I could feel my energy disappearing. I looked at my fingers and saw they were becoming more transparent. I quickly ran up to Aaron.

“My energy is gone. Just act normally with Ly. I’ll meet you outside.” I quickly whispered into his ear. I broke out into a run as I started to become more visible. A couple GMs looked surprise, but took it as nothing as they turned back to what ever they were doing. I ran into a giant room. I saw a door in front of me. I took a step forward. A noise similar to a gust of wind rang through the room. The GMs in the room turned their heads towards me.

“Don’t let him escape!” One shouted. They all ran towards me attacking. I dodged all the attacks and kept running for the door. They all jumped me to stop me form moving. I fell to the ground. One GM fumbled for his GM badge to seal up my energy. I remembered my bag of Mesos and pulled it out. I threw it into the air and used Meso Explosion. Nothing happened as it fell on the crowd and scattered everywhere. I’m out of energy. I stopped fighting the crowd.

I heard a bottle shatter on the ground. I turned to see a blue puddle near me. A potion! I reached down dipped my finger in it. I stuck my finger in my mouth and felt some energy swim through my body. I quickly used Meso Explosion. The scattered Mesos exploded and sent the crowd flying apart. I ran for the doors but to my horror found them locked. I turned and looked at a giant desk. It was where the lady with the computer was working at. I stretched out my left hand and used vac. The desk wobbled into the air. The woman jumped out as she screamed. The desk flew through the air and smashed against the door. A cloud of wood dust rose into the air as I ran through the doors.

“What?!” I shouted. I banged my hands on the door to feel cold metal. They put a metal door inside the wooden one?! I pulled out my Korean Fan. I tried to transform it into a Dragon’s Tail but I was out of energy. I saw another desk near a wall. I ran towards it and hid behind it. I stared at my Korean Fan. I wouldn’t be able to recover enough energy in a short amount of time to transform it into a Dragon’s Tail and keep it at that, but I would be able to recover enough for a couple Holy Arrows. I waited amidst the confusion recovering my energy.

After I felt that I had enough energy for about four Holy Arrows I stepped out from behind the desk. I saw a small boy crying in his mom’s arms. I hated to do it, but I was sure the GMs would let me go if I had him. I used vac. The boy flew through the air away from his mom. His mom screamed out as the boy cried. I caught him and placed him on the ground. I aimed a Holy Arrow at him.

“Let me out or he dies!” I shouted. All the GMs froze. A couple of them reached for their weapons.

“Don’t you care what happens to the boy?” I asked bringing my arrow closer to him. The ones that had reached for their weapons stopped.

“Open the doors! Now!” I commanded. A GM pulled down a lever concealed behind a wall panel. The doors started to slowly open. I planned the whole situation in my mind. As soon as the doors opened fully I would make a run for it. The doors came to a complete stop as they spread wide open. I was about to run when the boy reached out to my arrow. I raised it up. If he touched it his hand would burn. A couple GMs stared intently.

“Close the doors! He won’t hurt the child!” One of them roared. The GM that had been operating the door-opening lever immediately reversed it. I shot a Holy Arrow at his hand but it was too late. The doors were already beginning to close. I ran towards it dodging all the attacks of the GMs. I won’t make it! I quickly searched for an idea.

There! I found a couple gears moving at the top of the doors. I quickly used Holy Arrow and shot at the gears. The gears broke into bits as the doors screeched to a stop. I ran through them but bumped into somebody. I looked up. I froze. It was Sean.

“You will not escape Hacker!” He proclaimed. He pulled out his Cursayer. He slashed upwards across my chest. I fell onto the ground as blood poured form my wound. He jumped forward and kicked me into the building. He slashed the air. The blood slid off his blade. He sheathed his dagger and walked to me.

Before he reached me I was taken into the air. I saw Aaron had thrown me on his back. He started to use Flash Jump while holding Ly in his hand. Sean immediately used Haste and came after us but we lost him after a while.

Aaron let me on the ground. We were in an alleyway near the marketplace. I rested on the ground as I started to heal my wounds with Heal. I started to thank Aaron but he cut me off.

“Come on. We got to go now.” He said getting up. “We need to get to Lily’s house and get ready to leave. The GMs will be there any moment.” I thought about it. Of course. They know that’ll be the first place I’ll go to. Aaron handed me a blue potion which I quickly drank up.

“Ok. Let’s go.” I said using Haste. As we ran towards Lily’s house thoughts swam around my head. Where are we supposed to go? There’s no where to run to. I thought of all the contacts I had and all the places that I knew of. Wait. There’s The Hole! I hoped we would make it to The Hole before the GMs caught us. I gulped. I also hoped the Hackers at The Hole wouldn’t attack Lily. Hmmm…..I guess Aaron, too. He did save me after all.

  1. -That Asian Kid- ~?
    I don’t think I know you. . . HI!
Nice chapter, if you where wondering. ^_^

    – Little preacher man.

  2. Homg. So fast paced! A few spelling errors, but the story still flows with them. It is also, “Words of a Hacker -Ch6-“? The only other problem that I wanted to point out was when Michael was escaping the giant room,

Oblivion said: ““Don’t let him escape!” One shouted. I stopped fighting the crowd.”

I think you could’ve gone a bit more in depth here, explainin what happened, but whatever.
