I woke up in my bunk feeling stiff, oh great! Id slept ontop of my wings again……… they were extremely sensitive, and if I slept on them the whole, night, the crew would see my rubbing my “back” all day. My roomates, Kelly and Chistina were already up. Kelly was showering, what a girly girl, and Christina was making us some breakfast. Beside from the captain, Kelly and Christina were the only ones who knew about my wings. “Look at that sky!” Christina said in awe as she did everyday. It was a normal sunny day, but Christina was right, even in thunderstorms and typhoons the sky look amazing this high up. I sat up, let my wing flap around a bit, and got hit in the face with a clean shirt. “Christina, I told you to stop doing my laundry!” I said “I gotta learn how to do it myself!”. “Alright, fine, I just thought Id help you out since I was going down to the ship laundry room anyway” she said, having said it once a week for the past two years.
At breakfast, I was scurrying around the velvet carpeted dining room for the more wealthy customers. In truth, the food was the same, the room was just better looking. Glass chandeliers hung from the ceilling, reflecting light down on us. Painting of all sorts covered the walls (not so much as photos in the staff room but…). And what really expensive dining room be like without classical music? We had a very expensive audio system in the room, which I had never seen, sinceit was under the machanics to look after it. Breakfast was my favourite meal of the day, since I got to swing around the room on high heals serving people their food, which chef Thomas an dhis crew cooked every morning. Christina, Kelly and I loved talking as we rushed past each other. Stuff like “that guy at table 5 is so hot!” and “he’s to rich for us!”. After the last of the passengers in the five star class left, I walked towards the staff eatery for my own breakfast. I always sang a song when going to breakfast, counting bolts was for lunch. So today I decided on Before He Cheats. As a sang, people poked their heads out of their doors to see what was happening. Not many know this but Fairies can sing very well! Arriving in the almost comfy staff room I sat down next to Brendan as always, gave him a kiss in the cheek and grabbed my meal. Ahhhhh nothing beats bacon, eggs, and milk after dashing around serving folk for an hour or two.
I was off duty from breakfast till dinner, so I decided to walk around and explore. Id been on this ship since I was 11, but Id only started working at 12, so I hadnt goten a good look at some of the staff only rooms. Walking down the hall I met Brendan, who was off duty by the looks of it.
“Hey babe”
“Brendan……..”
“What? We have to try to like each other”
“I know, Im sure Ill like you enough to let you cal me ‘babe’ one day but not now”
“Alright, Ciara”
“Thank you”
So we began walking and talking, mostly about our wedding. “What should I get? Black or a regal blue?” Brendan, or so I believed actually loved me,which I kind of felt bad about since I saw him as a friend. “Black, I like Bonds” I replyed. “Oh, you like Bonds ‘ey? You know Ive used a gun” he was always like that, but I never minded. “You’ve never held one.” I was used to him trying to impress me by now, it was almost fun.
“Yes, Ive held one, even shot it”
“No you didnt”
“Did so”
“Did not”
“Did so”
“Did not”
Thats how Brendan and I talked, isnt it sweet?
