(except the part with the meteorite, that was star wars) 3rd of all Don’t YOU DARE COPY THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4th of all….it’s not about maple and finally it’s the draft one so there is quite a bit of mistakes, don’t be heaps negative and be all blah blah blah and finally it’s a COOL STORY!

Chapter 1
Lachlan’s eyebrows where in a furrow, a bead of sweat dropped down from his long, orange hair, landing on his armoured chest. He forced himself to take a deep breath, his hazel eyes concentrating on his target, his dirty hand tightened around the trigger. He took in his surroundings. It was a bleak cloudy sky and it will probably rain in about an hour and a half. The atmosphere was dense and the ground muddy, but this did not annoy Lachlan all he wanted to do was pull the trigger and quickly leave this area as quickly as possible.

This was it he was about to shoot. He tensed himself and blocked out all train of thought to his head. Beep beep. “What in the name of the world was that?” Lachlan said quietly to himself as the noise echoed around in his head, breaking any trace of concentration. Lachlan checked his cross com a little message in read was flickering in the top left corner of the screen. He activated it with a wink of his eye and the message expanded across the screen until it reached it’s full size and began playing. A familiar voice could be heard in the message which Lachlan could distinctively tell was his mother shouting in a cross angry voice “Lachlan for the tenth time dinner is READY!” loud enough for the group of men, Lachlan’s original targets to hear. They drew their weapons so fast that it seemed inhuman. The ringleader of the group pulled out a very nasty weapon called the Plasma rifle. Which could melt through armour in seconds like a knife through butter. He fired two deadly bolts and laughed in madness as the two balls of plasma sunk into Lachlan’s chest sending him flying backwards across the rooftop and also throwing him out of the game and back into his room. He looked around a bit dazed then cursed his bad luck. He had almost got him, he had almost got Contractor! Contractor was a teenager part of a clan called The Businessmen, they are called that because they wear business suits with liquid Kevlar weaved into the fabric of the suit. Liquid Kevlar is one of the worlds strongest matters and can withstand plasma and endless rounds of metal bullets. Contractor trains the new clan members due to his recent demotion from squad leader to trainer because of a mix up allowing an entire operation to go down and letting rival clans know the whereabouts of the Businessmen’s base and battle plans. But even though Contractor seems stupid he is not to be trifled with. He is very trigger happy and doesn’t even have a hint of fear as his enemies surround him. That was the reason Lachlan was about to shot him, Contractor had caused Lachlan’s clan enough trouble recently, burning outposts to the ground in his angry rage about being demoted. So Lachlan was sent by his clan, clan Nitro to eliminate him from the game. And Lachlan had the perfect position, He was atop of a building cradling a M75 2000 sniper rifle which had been modified to fit his needs but Lachlan called it sting, gazing down at the street at Contractor talking to his trainees on the street below. But if mum hadn’t of called me I would have been heading back to my clan’s secret base with news of Contractors death. Lachlan sighed he took off his virtual reality helmet which instantly transports you into the game and headed down to dinner.

Which cheered him up a lot as it was burrito’s and mum sure knew how to make them right. In the game Lachlan’s real name was Cyberwolf because when you get it you’ve got to sign up and when you sign up you have to type in your preferred gamertag and if that tag is taken, try another one or add some numbers onto the back of it. You also have to create your password which was a total secret and Lachlan’s not going to tell anyone what it is. You speak your password into the helmet when you want to play. Once it’s reads your voice and scanned your iris and made sure you have said the right password it lets you into the game.

Chapter 2
Lachlan woke up to the familiar buzz of his alarm clock, it was Saturday morning and was 7:15 a.m
“perfect” called Lachlan to himself as he got dressed and walked into mum and dads room. He gave mum a kiss on the check and asked
“Muuuuuuuum can I prettie please have Josh over today?”
mum replied with the usual “go ask dad” and as Lachlan would ask dad. Dad would reply “go ask mum” with two stupid answers from mum and dad Lachlan bellowed out
“MUM dad said go ask you and you said go ask dad, would someone please go and give me a straight answer here?”
“OK ok Lachlan you can go and ring josh to come over, just give me a second to wake up”
“thanks mum!” Lachlan called out as he run out of the room slamming the door behind him.

Finally when mum dad and James his older brother who stays up in his room all the time came down for breakfast, Lachlan was allowed to call josh. He punched in the number and waited patiently for someone to pick up the phone.
“hello?”
“hi Josh it’s Lachlan wanna come over today?”
“hi Lachlan, ill go ask my mum”
“ I’m allowed to come want me to bring some stuff?”
“yeh, bring your Virtual Reality helmet and we can play together”
“ok….cya there!” The line went dead.
Lachlan put the phone back down on the receiver, “mum Josh is coming over today I just rang”
“ok” mums voice rang out from the kitchen is he bringing anything?”
“yeh, he’s bringing his virtual reality helmet”
“fine but I don’t wanna have to call you out of the game again like last time”
“ok fine you won’t I promise”
Lachlan walked out of the kitchen to the dinning room. Everyone was already in there. Lachlan sat down and started eating his breakfast, two fried eggs, bacon and sausages “yum!” exclaimed Lachlan as he took his empty plate into the kitchen and put it into the sink. Lachlan ran up the stairs and into his room, he closed the door so know one could interrupt him. He put on his virtual reality helmet spoke his password and let it scan his iris and voice patterns and let it suck him into the game. Lachlan got up an dusted himself off, he was somewhere in a dusty, old town Lachlan activated his cross-com it told him that he was in the sandy desserts of Scatnewa and was in the town of Zainl. Lachlan used his cross-com to give him a sweep of the area…. no one appeared to be near him so he started consulting his options. Before any ideas sprang to mind his cross-com started blipping again “now what” Lachlan said to himself as he activated the message. The message expanded until it filled half his cross-com and turning into a screen showed Matt Keat’s head staring at Lachlan. This is another thing about the world of Virtual reality if someone you know has it you can add them to your friends list and then, if there in the game, you can chat to them wherever they are via cross-com or you can use a A.I.W which stands for Artificial Intelligents Watch which you wear on your hand, this is what Matt keats, gamertag: Rudder is using right now.
“Hi cyber!”
“Hey Matt how are you going?”
“well I just completed a mission and got a hefty wack of credits to spend for completing it”
“lucky, I got killed yesterday because mum called me while I was playing, and my target was Contractor and I was about to get him”
“Jeeze that’s unlucky”
“yeh I know, I would have got heaps of credit”
“anyway do you know where I can find a cross-com helmet? I want to buy one I know that I have enough credits.”
“I think so, where are you?”
“I’m at Zainl in the windy desserts of Scatnewa”
“same! ok meet at the center of town cya there”
“bye bye and remember to call me by my gamertag, Rudder”
The screen on the cross-com shrunk, “ok now iv’e got to wait for Rudder” Lachlan said to himself as he stood in the middle of the road. But Lachlan didn’t have to wait long as Rudder emerged from a narrow pathway in between two buildings.
“hey Rudder”
“hey cyberwolf lets go find a store that sells cross-coms”
“ok then follow me”
The two boys walked cautiously through the dusty streets. They knew from previous experiences that you must always be on your toes. The two boys checked every window and door thoroughly, just in case there was a teen who had a particularly bad day and wanted to give someone hell. They quietly approached a stall with a shadowy figure seated behind it. “Hello Do you sell equipment?” Lachlan asked.
“yes but what’s it to ya?” said the man, he had a thick accent with a big mustache with flies buzzing around him like he hasn’t bathed in days. He probably just was a bot that was built into the game.
Matt spoke up, “do you sell cross-coms?”
“yes….they cost 1200 credits each,”
“What! That’s crazy I could go anywhere else and get them for 800 credits!” Lachlan stammered. Matt piped up,
“Lachlan, I don’t care about the price I really need it!”
“you sure? You could go to somewhere else and get it for heaps cheaper,”
“hello? Are you two finished chatting cause if you don’t mind I’ve got business to attend to”
“Lachlan, I’m positive I want it, ill take one cross-com please,” The man gave a toothy grin, he seamed a lot more cheery now that Matt had made a purchase “aye I knew you would come to a conclusion now here is your cross-com”
Matt took it with gratitude and put it on with pleasure. With a flick of annoyance Lachlan accepted the fact that Matt had just got ripped off.

Chapter 3
A message bleeped on Lachlan’s cross-com he activated it and it expanded in size then started playing
“Hi Lachlan it’s me Josh, I’m at your house. Ill be coming into the game in a sec just wait for me,”
“cool Matt’s on too ill tell him”
“ok cya!”
“bye bye”
“Hey matt! Josh is at my house I rang him earlier”
“cool! Is he coming into the game?”
“yeah he’s just getting it all set up,”
“ok”
Just as Matt finished his sentence a tornado of pixels flashed next to Lachlan, which sorted themselves out until they formed Josh
“Hey Josh, sick, now we can start playing!” yelled Lachlan
“Hey Wolfhound,”
“hi Rudder”
“What are we going to do Lachlan?” questioned Josh.
Lachlan replied “Let’s start a squad, can I be leader?”
“sure” said matt and Josh simultaneously.
Along with clans in this world there is also squads where a maximum of four people can join including the leader. Often clans attack using squads with specific jobs, but Lachlan’s reason was just for fun. As soon as Lachlan sent the invite out to Wolfhound and Rudder to join his squad a bar of health floated above their head to help Lachlan know if they were on low health. Lachlan set his cross-com to Matt’s view, so whatever Matt sees Lachlan sees. Which is perfect for when there is a person creeping up on you and Matt sees him and Lachlan doesn’t. The trio crept down the road, on full alert.
The hot desert sun shone down on them quickly covering them in sweat unless they stuck to the shade. Lachlan sensed danger he alerted Matt and Josh and pulled out his Favourite weapon The BATTLE RIFLE with a 5×10 scope with three different modes of fire: Burst, automatic and single shot. Burst shoots out three bullets in quick succession. Automatic is for all out fights, it can deplete a ammo clip in seconds. Lachlan only uses this mode if he is in deep trouble. And finally there is single shot which shoots out one bullet, perfect for precise head shots. They three boys stood there, frozen in deep concentration. Then a anonymous gunman leapt out from behind a barrel holding two small MMG Mini Machine Guns and fired rapidly Lachlan instinctively dived to the left ducking into a alley, josh to the right into an opposite alley to Lachlan’s and Matt copped the shower of bullets on the chest flinging him back a few metres. The bar above his head had been cut by half, he was injured but not out for the count yet. The gunman was now focusing his aim on the building Lachlan was hiding behind. Lachlan dared a little peek but quickly retreated as a bullet wizzed past his head. Josh wasn’t having any more luck than Lachlan. As another gunman had joined the first holding a semi-automatic rifle which kept Josh Back in his alley. Lachlan tensed, back pressed against the wall he twisted around the corner so he could get a shot in. Both gunman turned to him to scare him back into his alley but Lachlan simply stared into his scope and fired. He was in Burst and the Gunman flew backwards from the bullets and landed in a pig pen. Josh saw his chance. With the last remaining gunman staring with horror at his fallen teammate josh fired his Mac-7 rifle, it was known for its power and sheer velocity of its bullets. The second rifleman didn’t stand a chance, the gunman doubled over and collapsed. Now with the threat neutralized Lachlan turned his immediate attention to Matt he was lying there on the ground, a steady flow of blood was leaking out of his bullet wounds. His health had gone down a bit. Lachlan searched his medikit and found a medi pack. He placed it on Matt and then it got to work. First all his bullet wounds sealed up then the bar above his head gradually filled up unit it was full.
“Almost scared us Matt” claimed Josh jokingly
“Aye but of coarse I wouldn’t die on ya like that! Not from those weaklings”
“By the way who where those men?” asked Lachlan
“Beats me” Josh bluntly said
“Same” said Matt
“oh well let’s find out later, first let’s go kick someone’s butt!” yelled Lachlan
“YEAH!” yelled Matt and Josh.
“come, let’s take a break from the game now”
“okay” said Josh and Matt.

Chapter 4
Josh and Lachlan both sat in Lachlan’s room, Matt must have been sent back to his house.
“That was heaps of fun!” cried Josh
“Yeah I know,” replied Lachlan
“Let’s go down and have some morning tea, then we can go back into the game later,”
“Okay,”
The to boys hurried down stairs into the Kitchen. Mum was on the phone chatting to here best friend Narelle
“Yeah and I’m like keep way from me freak!”
“Mum?”
“And then she’s like oh I’m sorry did accidentally step on your foot? And she said it with sarcasm! Oh the nerve”
“Mum?”
“so then I got so angry that I poured my lunch over here head. Ha that’ll teach here!”
“MUM!”
“okay okay Lachlan just give me a second, sorry Narelle, I’ve got to go, Lachlan wants me. Okay bye bye cya,”
“Now what is you two little devils want?”
“Can we have cookies?”
“Fine, go sit out at the table and ill bring it out”
“Thanks mum!”
The two boys waited patiently for Lachlan’s Mum to bring out the cookies
“Ohhhhhhhh my favourite!” smiled Josh
The two boys ate quietly, telling each over stories about when a 90ft whale with gigantic teeth with huge spikes and a ray gun on it’s back, had crashed through there boat and cut it in half and how they had blasted every single alien on a space ship to smiverines, they both new the stories were a bit exaggerated but it was fun telling them anyway.
After Morning tea, the two boys played outside for a while, then they went inside to play the game again. Lachlan booted up his virtual reality helmet. Josh did likewise they both whispered there passwords so they couldn’t hear each others then it scanned there iris and were sucked into the game.
Chapter 5
Lachlan and Josh materialized in the game. The stood there taking in there surroundings, they were in a bleak, black and dangerous city, it was raining heavily. Which was also a hazard because they could slip. If there is anywhere you might get in danger it would be here. The Streets were crowded with kids each blankly staring ahead on full alert. Lachlan presumed they all had guns underneath there coats. Most gangs hanged around in the city preying on passing people, Lachlan and Josh were standing on the roof of a tall building, the next building was a lot smaller so there was a big drop in-between the two buildings. But Lachlan and Josh’s armour could handle a drop like that so they both jumped of the building and landed like cats on the next building. Then they heared a gunshot, Lachlan and Josh both immediately broke into a sprint as they knew a gang wasn’t that far away. They leapt from rooftop to rooftop closely followed by their pursuers. It was time Lachlan tried out a new device that he had bought a week ago, he had totally forgot about. Just as he leapt into the air to clear another gap he activated it, everything slowed down he twisted and pulled out his handgun fired seven shots in slow motion at the gang behind them. Each shot distinctively rang out as he fired. Then he landed on the next rooftop in a roll and kept running, time went back to normal.
“Wow that was cool move everything slowed down as you shot” panted Josh between breaths
“Thanks I know, it slowed them down but there still on our tail it’s bought us some time, come on let’s face them,”
“Whatever”
The two boys turned pulling out Mac-7 rifles, Lachlan crouched on one knee to stabilize his aim and opened fire. The gang that was chasing them immediately scattered ducking for cover then they came charging in. Lachlan and Josh were swamped Lachlan swapped his Mac-7 for dual MMG’s running backwards firing both his guns simultaneously smashing into a skinny teenager hurtling him backwards off the rooftop. Josh tripped over and skidded across the rooftop a gang member saw his opportunity to take out josh he pulled out his sword Josh didn’t stand a chance. The man easily cut through Josh’s armour and into his chest. He screamed and then disappeared, thrown out of the game. Lachlan reached the end of the narrow walkway that hung over the edge of the building he was shooting at the man with the sword who was charging at him. He deflected evry bullet using his sword, he was on top of Lachlan in seconds. He raised his sword above his head Lachlan was trapped he thought to himself Stand still and your dead, jump and they’ll tear you to peaces using there guns. No there is only one option left. Lachlan sprang backwards and at the same time activating slow motion, he saw the guy swing his sword down and miss Lachlan’s head by centimeters Lachlan executed a back flip all the while his hands were jammed down on the triggers of his MMG clipping the man on the shoulder, chest and leg. He cried out and collapsed over the edge Lachlan was still in the air bullets whizzing past him as the gang tried to bring him down. Crunch he landed on the next rooftop in a squat, he had gained a lot of credit from that fight which he could put into his account to save up for something big. He was lucky he had only just made it out alive.
Chapter 6
Lachlan got up he was inside his room. Josh was already on the xbox playing Halo 2, he didn’t seem to know that Lachlan was in the room. Lachlan walked across until he was in front of the screen.
“Hey move out of the way I can’t see!”
The familiar noise of the Master Chief dieing was heard.
“Great now I died, good one!”
“If you weren’t paying so much attention to that you would have noticed that I’m back,”
“Oh yeah, how did it go did you die?”
Lachlan gave a lengthy explanation about what had happened,
“I’m glad you creamed the guy that killed me,” announced Josh
“Not only that but now I’ve got heaps of credit to spend on items and equipment”
“Cool wanna go back into the game?” asked Josh
“Yeah but let’s do some snooping around The businessmen’s home base, maybe we will be able to find out what they are planning next”
“Okay, maybe you can buy a vehicle with your credit to”
“Yeah!”
The two boys made up their mind about what they were going to do and entered the game. “Were are we?” mumbled Lachlan as he stood up
“I have no idea check your cross-com,” said Josh
“Ok,”
Lachlan booted up his cross-com it read out his current position.
“Space station four?”
“hmmmmmmm maybe we’re in space?” asked Josh
“Yeah and by the look of it I might be able to get a really good space ship here” replied Lachlan excitedly
The two buys walked down the sleek shiny walkways staring out at planet Earth, or at least that’s what they thought it was. They kept walking along the walkway until they were ubruptidly stopped by a tall, slim, silver alien. The alien spoke a foreign language to Lachlan and Josh so Lachlan activated his cross-com to translate it for them.
“Hello and welcome to Space Station Four how can I help you?”
Lachlan used his cross-com again to translate his speech into the Aliens language so it could understand him.
“Hello do you have some space ships for sale?” Lachlan asked
“Yes would you like me to take you to them?”
“Yes please”
“Okay then follow me”
While this whole conversation took place Josh just stared at both of them dumbfounded.
“So how’d it go?” asked Josh
“Perfect he’s taking us to the ships that are for sale”
“Cool”
The strange Alien led them through a series of doors walkways and gardens. Lachlan and Josh stared in awe at their awesome creations and ideas. Soon they arrived at a docking bay, it was filled with ships of all different shapes and sizes.
“Here is our stations ships on offer, feel free to look around”
“Thank you for your help” replied Lachlan, when the alien had walked off Lachlan and Josh ran down towards the ships, they all looked amazing. He browsed around until he came across a sleek, fast, streamlined spaceship with wings that were slightly aimed down. It was a metallic blue with two mounted plasma rifles on each side of the nose, there was heat seeking rockets that are shot out of rocket launchers, which are located underneath the wing. Nestled against the side of the ship. With three big boosters at the back and three small ones nestled in-between the space ship looked really fast. A glass pod stuck out of the ship, which was the cockpit. The Metal on the ship was made out of Kevlar and it reared up and swamped the back of the cockpit to protect it from danger. The ship had cloaking and a massive gun that rested on the bottom of the ship, it had three separate barrels that rotate, each firing a cannon ball that reach a velocity of 2000km.
“Wow this ship is amazing” Lachlan remarked, he had barely realized the floating Alien that had approached him.
“It costs 10,000 credit”
“aagh! Oh it’s just you jeeze you scared me!” Lachlan replied a little surprised
“Wow that’s pretty cheap hmmmmmm ill take it,”
“Thank you for your purchase, here are the keys and your driver manual we can take the ship to the launch pad for when you depart,”
“Thanks”
“No need to apologies it’s my pleasure,”
The floating alien walked off.
“So…did you buy the ship?” Josh asked as he couldn’t understand what Lachlan and the alien where saying.
“Yes,” replied Lachlan
“Sweet” commented Josh
“We can go right now if you want,” offered Lachlan
“Okay then lets go!”
The two boys asked the nearest alien for directions, which led them straight to the launch pad. It was huge! It was a small straight that only after about twenty meters went vertically straight up for about one hundred meters, all the way up there was special boosters that sped your ship up to help it get some momentum then you would brake free of the stations gravitational pull and be flung into space. Lachlan gulped; he didn’t think he was that ready for this. Josh spied Lachlan’s space ship on the runway all alone in one corner, he called Lachlan over to it.
“Oh man, this is so cool were gonna be in space!” cried Josh excitedly
“Yeah I know still what if we crash and were are you going to sit?”
“Didn’t they tell you? Your ship expands just behind your seat to make room for a co-pilot”
“The world is full of surprises” muttered Lachlan as he got into his ship. There was a complex amount of buttons that Lachlan didn’t quite understand, Josh clambered in behind him.
“hmmmmmm I wonder what I press to turn this thing on?” Lachlan asked
“hmmmmmm I wonder maybe you try turning the key?” Josh said sarcastically
“shut up!” mumbled Lachlan as he turned the key. The glass dome folded over them, all the buttons on the dashboard lit up. The steering wheel was normal except that the two horizontal grip bars were cut off so there were only two vertical grip bars left that had a red button on top of either of them, obviously for the guns. The two vertical grip bars were linked in the middle. It could be pulled up down and turned left or right. There were two levers on ever side of Lachlan. Lachlan guessed they were the brakes, he put one hand around each of them and pulled back on them, to Lachlan’s surprise they both came back easily the ship started rolling forward.
“Quickly accelerate! Before we crash!” Josh screamed,
Lachlan put his foot down on the right hand pedal, the thrusters boomed and blue fire shoot out of them, as the ship was abruptly boosted forward towards the vertical part of the runway.
“Aaaaaaaaaaaaagh! I didn’t think the ship could go this fast!” yelled Lachlan as they were thrown up the vertical part of the runway. Lachlan and Josh’s head were both thrown back into their seat as they continued up the runway then suddenly woooosh! And they were flying through space. As soon as the stopped, hovering in space. Lachlan and Josh started figuring out what all the buttons did, most just charged the solar what’s it called or the super duper thingy magig. Some buttons were useful like the one that activates the wormhole that can warp them to a different location or the one that charges and primes the plasma rifles. Once they had done a few loops and turns to get use to the controls, they set a course to land on planet earth.
