Enough OF THE SAME QUESTIONS!!!

Okay. I’m sick and tired of insecure people asking stupid questions on Maple forums. Any threads I see will be directed here, and it can easily answer almost any ‘do i have enough’ query in the world.

I know that other people in the Maple community are sick of reading the same old crap, so feel free to link here too.

1) Is my equipment good enough for my level?

If you’re having trouble figuring out if your equipment is good enough, put a clock next to your computer. Then buy a lot of pots, and write down what % you’re at in MS notepad. After that, go and train as you normally would. After an hour has passed, figure out how much % you gained by comparing your current % with the % you had written down.

Now figure out how many 1 hour sessions it will take you to level up. If you’re happy with the time it will take you, then carry on as normal. If not, then buy better things.

You’re probably thinking “BUT NICKZILLARGH, WHAT IF SOMEBODY CALLZ ME A N00B BECAUSE OF MY ‘LOW’ DAMAGE?!?!?!!!!!! I DONT WANT THAT!

Here’s a quick and brutal reality check for you: people will call you noob for any reason they see fit. There is no meaning to the word. There is no way to avoid it. You will find people spouting the ‘N’ word at you all the time, and most of the time you’ll be a better player than they are. YOUR DAMAGE HAS ALMOST NOTHING TO DO WITH IT.

This is assuming you are your own man. There’s a good chance you just want the approval of your Maple peers because nobody in real life likes you. If that’s the case, then go around and ask the other guys of your class (not school class you noobs) what their equipment is like. If their equipment is better than yours, buy better stuff. If not, then stay as you are.

Same goes if you just want the approval of your friends. Ask them what their stuff is like, and if their stuff is better go shopping. If not, stay as you are.

2) Do I have enough money?

The best way to figure out if you have enough money is to get an idea of what you need equipment wise for your next set of levels.

Say, you’re a level 45 bandit and you want to know how much money you should have. Simply go and figure out how much you will need for your next weapon/sonata set. If you need a shield or anything else, add that to the cost.

If you have enough for your new set of things + you have enough money to cover potion/scroll costs, then you have enough money. If you don’t have enough for them, then you don’t have enough money.

Oh, hey Desperately seeking the approval of my Maple peers because nobody likes me guy, didn’t know you were still here. Anyway, a good way to figure out if YOU have enough money is to go and ask a few people who are your class how much they have. If they have more, then you need more. If they have less, you’re good as you are.

Note that a lot of guys will lie about how much money they have/make so if it sounds too high, just disregard it.

Now it’s a shame that most people linked here will be far, far too stupid to read past the first sentence, but if I manage to help anyone at all with my amazing analysis, it’ll be time well spent. Chime in if you see any more common ‘do I have enough’ questions and I’ll probably add them to my list. Also feel free to flame if the ‘desperately seeking approval’ thing hits a nerve and you want to lash out. I know the truth hurts.

Bye all.

  1. A smarter way would be to test the exp in say, ten minute periods instead of one whole hour. Then calculate xp per unit time (i.e. second, minute) then compare the different areas. That way, you wouldn’t be interferring with others who are training there, leading to circumstances that may affect the accuracy of your calculations. Unless, of course, you are trying to find out the rate of xp you’ll get while being seriously KSed and harrassed.

  2. SilverFx – if you expect to be KSed and harrassed during an hour of regular training, then you should include that in your calculations, as that will be a factor. Do whatever amount of time you feel is enough and judge by that.

Then again, the kind of people who need these guide should use the hour – they might have trouble working it out from minutes.
    To the general public:
In case you’re not sure, divide your remaining % needed (100 – current %) by the % you gained during your training (final % – initial %), and then multiply this number by the time interval you’re using.
    Worked example:
    Finished at 50%: 100-50=50
    Started training at 30%, 50% after 10 minutes: 50-30=20
    % exp needed/% exp gained: 50/20=2.5
    Time interval 10 minutes: 10*2.5=25
My estimate for levelling is 25 more minutes of training.

If you have trouble with this, use a calculator.
If you still have trouble, get somebody to explain it to you.
If you still have trouble, benefit humanity and never have/influence kids.

It’s really a lot harder to write this in lame-man’s terms than you’d think.

  3. LOL to your three pieces of advice. Frankly, if I am harassed at a spot where training is supposedly optimal, I’d rather go off to another place with lousier xp rates, even if insulting and befuddling my harassers could potentially be entertaining. It’s not a very good guide that way. Besides, you could always change channels to avoid harassment.

  4. Well, thats how i figure out how fast i train, my calculating how much exp i get in 10 min. But of course, i get distracted so it takes a bit longer than calculated.
