[N] MCD – It’s Too Late

Sarah stared at the locket, the last thing that would protect the energy force of the Starcraft world, locked away in Shakuras, in an extremely remote zone. Sarah was the last amongst the generation of the keeper of the locket which held the entire power to Starcraft. It was to be broken to assure that no one would ever take control of the power. Knowledge of the powers were passed from generation to generation and Sarah recalled her father telling her:

“If you break the locket, or whatever contains the powers, they will split into five spiritually different fragments that will spread out around five different planets in this world. This is to make sure no one gets the power. Keep this information safe.

Sarah had decided a step ahead, to break the locket in advance, so that no one could take control of the powers. After all, she only wanted to live a normal life such great responsibility was daunting.

Lucifer examined the memories of Sarah, before she was about to die. He was not a very gentle man, nor did he care for anyone except for himself. He had met Sarah a few years after the locket incident and they became great friends and eventually more than that. They even considered marrying. One night, he overheard a conversation between Sarah and her friend, talking about some strong power source and he began his search for more information. He slowly pried it out of Sarah, who resisted until now. He even tried a sex ban but that didn’t work out well.

He grabbed his Psi rapier and held it against her neck, repeating the same question he had asked, many hours ago.

“Where is this power source?”

Like she has been doing for the last few hours, she kept quiet, strengthening her mind guards so that Lucifer could not probe in. Lucifer whacked her on the side of the head, causing a dark purplish bruise. Sarah faltered and Lucifer probed in, once again, trying to find more memories of the power source. He found nothing, so he decided to finally end this. He gave her a sharp rap on the temple and sliced her neck. After this, he threw her body and head out the window into the forest outside. Sarah was always an environmental person. Now she could rest in the forest forever. Lucifer began cleaning up the blood red liquid that was left, trying to remove the red blood stains from the table. He had used Maelstrom to keep her in a locked position so she could move.

After all, he was an experienced Zerg-Protoss cross and could use magic from either side which posed a threat to most of his enemies except for a select few that Lucifer just plainly hated. Lucifer walked in to his garden shed, where the Nydus Canal* was placed. He walked into it and was greeted by two Hydralisks on guard.

He continued down the path to pass two Cerebrates that were conversing intently on how they were going to divide Aiur into different Zerg colonies. He went yet again, into another Nydus Canal and went to the Zerg Airport, the Spire. Overlords were coming back and forth, ferrying across soldiers in the air. Lucifer boarded a private Overlord, specifically one that he had bought. It had high armour because Lucifer was a wanted man, in the eyes of the Protoss and Terran, that is. Lucifer told the overlord to transport him to a place a safe distance from the Terran city of Orestes, the last of the Terran cities on this planet. Lucifer deduced that it would be slightly foolish to have a Zerg Overlord land in a Terran airport, particularly since the Terran and Protoss weren’t too fond of the Zerg.

The overlord dropped Lucifer off a few kilometres from the base of the mountain because it would be a safe distance where any sentry in Orestes won’t be able to spot him. Orestes was the only remaining city due to how and where it was built : it was carved into a mountainside. This made it virtually impossible for any invaders to attack unless they had a huge massive cloak such as arbiters and dark templars, but ironically, they belong to the Protoss, who were on the Terrans’ side.

Lucifer snuck out from behind the rock and began his slow walk towards the mountain where a cable car would be waiting, to take him up to Orestes.

Location : Terran Practice Firing Range [Korhal]

In the open firing range, ten marines were practicing their shooting under the supervision of Leonardo while ten different goliaths were practicing their accuracy under the supervision of Jake. Leonardo noticed a strange occurrence, a flash of blue, from out of the corner of his eye as he was sharpening his warp blade on the grindstone. Jake, also standing by, noticed this and their eyes met.

“Let’s go check it out, yeah?” asked Jake.

”Of course. We have never had an adventure in ages ever since the Zerg decided to stop attacking,” replied Leonardo.

“Alright guys, cease fire, you guys are done for today and Johnson, tell me you won’t man a siege tank in your further career, because you can’t aim for sh-“

“That’s enough,” interrupted Leonardo.

Jake and Leonardo stopped and went single file into the armoury, which was next to the firing range. Leonardo took out clips of ammunition for his Canister Rifle and put his warp blades into their respective scabbards while Jake traveled down a little further to get himself into a siege tank. Jake leapt into the siege tank and began making some minor tweaks to increase the speed and power of the siege tank. Leonardo hopped in for increased speed and of course, so he could grab some food and eat it.

“Don’t you ever stop eating?” Inquired Jake.

“Naw, I need it man, the wings burn up my energy,” retorted Leonardo.

They set off, in the siege tank down the muddy path from the practice range into the dense forest to the approximate location of the flash. While traveling there, they found some of the artificial creep the Terran was placing around in an attempt to lure the Zerg. You could tell it was fake creep because there was no odour and it did not poison you. The plan was currently failing miserably. In between two thick buttress trees, Jake sieged the tank and Leonardo got out and began to walk forward, with clips of ammunition strapped to his body, towards the location. Jake sat by, calmly listening to the radio while Leonardo went ahead.

“Alright, I see them ahead, they’re on the creep,” reported Leonardo.

“I’m coming in, with the tank, we can load them in there, but I’ll keep the tank a distance away, in case things get feisty,” replied Jake.

“Affirmative.”

Jake closed in, the siege tank digging deep tread marks deep into the ground. By the time he reached there, Leonardo had lifted up one of them on his soldier and put him into the siege tank.

“Better bring ‘em in for inspection. They don’t look like they’re from around here. He might be one of us or not. Anyway, even if they were against us we could always shoot
‘em on the spot,” said Jake.

Leonardo brought the other one in. Whatever they were wearing, it wasn’t like the power suits that were normally worn by the Terran. When they put the two unconscious bodies into the siege tank, they boarded and began the ascent back to base. It was only a few kilometres to reach the Practice Firing Range.

Roma Fensulfr sat lazily at her desk, waiting for something interesting to do. She was given the desk job a month ago and had been literally itching for something more exciting to do. All she did all day was listening on the radio and since the Zerg weren’t attacking, there were no reports.

Suddenly the radio crackled.

“Requesting immediate assistance to Grid 269/578, I repeat, Grid 269/578, we are under attack by the bloody Zerg!”

There was a moment’s silence. After a whole month of doing nothing, Roma had read the map of Korhal and memorized some of the grids. Grid 269/578 was one of them because it was near her favourite shooting range. Also, it was the familiar voice of Jake, who supervised the training of young ranged soldiers that manned vehicles. No doubt he would also be with Leonardo, who was also there.

Roma acted immediately and began running towards the person in the next room.

“Sir, we have a code red! Lieutenant Leonardo and Captain Jake are under attack on Grid 269/578”

“We’ll have to take immediate action, get the guys down at the airport to start the dropships and transport a few tanks and marines down there, this is important!”

“Oh and get Rena Su-Li, she might be of some help.”

“Yes Sir!”

  1. Yeah, obviously an evil guy. So obviously cliche that it makes me cry. >>;
And holy hell, why am I rhyming?

  2. Hell ain’t holy. Hell is hot like the barbecue pit on a Saturday night.

Cliches make the story more easier to understand though. . .but too much of them makes the story *poof*.
