Subis Story – Part 3

We were getting closer as time went by. The amount of time me and Rose spend together is bringing us closer and closer together.
The way we co-operate makes deafeating Zombies a walk in the park.
We’ve grew so much here, we made our 3rd Job Advancement together, and it seems that every day we spend together we learn more about eachother.

It’s been a long day, I thought to myself, resting my head on my rucksack.
Rose lay beside me “Too long!” She said, giggling.
Gazing up at the stars, my eyes were getting heavier, I was about to fall asleep, when Rose nudged me.

I looked at her, her eyes shiny with tears.
Questioning her about the problem, she replied “It’s just.. well, I’m missing my Father, he was always there to comfort me when I was down, his smile made my day, but then he ventured too deep into Ossyria. The monsters there were too strong and he thought he could single-handedly defeat them all, one proved too big of a problem for him. I’m told the monsters name was Zakum.. My father put up a good fight but.. butt..”
She wept, I held her close, whispering in her ear “It’s alright Rose, I’ll always be here.”
It seemed she was asleep, being extremely tired myself, I decided to get some shut-eye too.

It was early that morning, when I woke up. Rose had woken already, I travelled to the Forrest to see her.
She wasn’t at our usual location..
I ventured deeper into the Forrest, no sign of her.
Deeper I went, relentless in my search.
But I still couldn’t find her, I was past the Forrest now, at an abandoned mine, they used to extract Bronze Ore from the ground here, until a tragic cave-in took all the workers lives, they still live here though, as Zombies, trying to seek vengeance on whoever dares to enter.

It didn’t bother me though, I’d do anything to find her, I went into the mine, Going down further, as far as possible.
A long drop lay ahead of me.
I braced myself for the impact and shock of hitting the ground at the bottom.

I brushed the sweat from my forehead, and jumped fearlessly, I seemed to be dropping for a while.
As I went further down, the temperature was rising insanely, as if I was being dropped into a furnace.
I hit the ground with some impact, performing a roll to break my fall.

That’s it, there was no turning back now. The atmosphere here was alot different to above-ground. The walls were cracked, the floor unbalanced, several indentations in the floor were full to the brim with molten-lava. I questioned myself, ‘Did Rose really come this far..?’ But I couldn’t think like that, I’d came here in search of her, and I was not going to head back now. I went deeper. I leeped over a pit of lava, when to my surprise, a beast emerged from the pit.

I stepped back, quickly getting stars from my back-pack. Rose had left me something, a legendary set of Ilbis, with a message engraved.
“You may never see me again, Subi. These stars belonged to my father, use them with pride.”
I felt a lump in my throat, I pelted stars at the monster, with as much effort as possible.
It slammed it’s humongous arms to the floor, causing a slight quake, I leapt into the air as it did so, shooting two more stars.
The monster yelled and dropped, I continued.

A large door was infront of me, I entered with caution.
A HUGE Stone altar towered over me, I went around to the front, seeing the back of Rose.
I knew it was her, her golden locks told no lies. “What are you doing?” I balled at her..
“It’s too late, she responded,” dropping a fire ore onto the altar.
