Chapter 5: When Things Get Too Interesting

“It is already an hour, can’t those clean up guys hurry up?” asked Laren who sat down staring at the ceiling of the Lubridium Help Center, which was a few blocks from the clock tower. “Well, Alishar and those other monsters did do a lot of damage to the festival area, so it should take a while for them to clean it all up”, said Tino as he patted his shoe with his wand, a fog of dust slowly appeared and disappeared. “So…once the festival resumes, who wants to go no the carnival rides?” asked Jay as he watch Laren nod her head and Zaleb merely shrugged…carnival rides weren’t his thing, it always ended in disaster. “How about you Kai?” asked Jay as the cleric rolled her eyes, she didn’t like the idea…but she peered at Laren and sighed, she nodded her head [u]only[/u] because her friend gave her the ‘Please?’ look. “Well, the rest of us will go to the game zone and wins some prizes”, said Artin as Nelson cheered, he had been waiting for this for a while…the anticipation was thrilling. “Hey…where is Gin?” asked Tino as he looked around, the ice wizard had vanished…where did he go?

Gin was now walking silently away from the festival and back towards the hotel, he didn’t see much reason to be happy today…today of all days. “No need for me to sully everyone’s mood”, mumbled Gin who had fun with being part of the presentation at the festival…and even fighting Alishar, but still…he shouldn’t be there. Gin suddenly peered to his right and watched as Tickle made it’s way towards the festival holding it’s food bowl and dragging the bag of food…the obedient monster, ironic isn’t it? “Hey Tickle, you hungry?” asked Gin as he watched the monster stop and nod, amusingly enough…the Tick merely stopped to ask for a snack as Tickle hid his food bowl, but nudged the bag of food it was dragging. “Okay…let me help you”, said Gin as he took the bag of food and took out a few bits of food and set it on the little bowl, Gin chuckled watching Tickle devour it hungrily. After a moment, Gin returned the bag of food and watch Tickle walk forward with the food bowl in its’ mouth. “Hope you find Laren”, said Gin before he began his journey towards the hotel again.

After a while and lots of searching, Tickle made its’ way to the Lubridium Help Center and somehow managed to open the door, it walked inside as hungry as it was before Gin had fed it. “So, how much longer?” asked Laren as she sat eating a sandwich, she watched as Artin and Tino play a game of Match cards…Tino was winning. “Not sure, but I think it is-“ began Zaleb as the Mayor appeared in the middle of the room, Tickle was slowly closing in on where Laren was. “Sorry the interruption on tonight’s festival…but the clean up has just finished and the festival will resume”, said the Mayor as the tourist and residents made their way back to the festival. “Yay! Let’s go”, said Laren as she sat up and drag Zaleb, Jay, and Kai out the door. “Hey! Wait for us”, said Artin who finally won a game of Match Cards against Tino before running after his friends, Tino stared at Nelson. “Hey, wait for me!” yelled the warrior as he ran after the hunter; it was not a good idea to stay nearby with an angry Tino. Tino sighed as he got up and walked out of the Lubridium Help Center not noticing a dizzy Tickle who rest on it’s back when the herd of people knocked it to the dark and forgotten corner. Tickle began to sob as it tried to get back up and follow Laren…it was hungry.

When Gin returned to the hotel, he sighed finally getting the time to rest…been a while since he had any time to do that with rehearsals, battling monsters, and Laren’s desire to shop. Suddenly, the nearby phone began to ring as Gin sat up and shook his head…he should get it. He grabbed the phone and said, “Hi”, but when he head the reply, he wanted to say, “Bye and leave me alone”. “What do you want?” asked Gin as he growled and was didn’t really care whatever the other person was going to say…until. “What? No…you’re joking, right?” asked Gin as he listened intently now…every word burned into his mind as he knelt to the bottom of the bed and pulled out a very old box. “Alright…you sure about this?” asked Gin as he opened the old box and took some stuff out, he picked up the phone and sighed. “Okay…I will do this ‘request’. I know I can’t tell the others…and especially Tino, he doesn’t need to know”, said Gin who place the phone where it usually was. “Hmmm, I should get this over as quickly as I can”, said Gin as he took off what he was wearing now and put on something more…appropriate.

By the time everyone got to the festival, everyone split up to either the carnival rides or the game zone. “Hey Zaleb…do you want to go to the game zone before the carnival rides?” asked Laren as she changed her mind after seeing a little girl walk by with a gigantic Mushroom doll…it was nearly life sized. “Sure…whatever you want”, said Zaleb as Laren blushed, it seemed her fascination with dolls became apparent. “See you later then”, said Jay who was smiling while Kai frowned, it seemed she was trapped with someone who has taken a liking to her…great. “Ummm, these are for you”, said Jay who gave Kai a bouquet of flowers as he tried to keep from smirking, but Kai tried to ignore it. “Let’s just go on the Roller Coaster ride”, said Kai as she walked towards the Roller Coaster line up, Jay quickly followed as he thought it was a great chance for…a kiss! ‘I am so smart’, thought Jay who realized that if he sat next to Kai…if she gets scared…this would be great! “Brother…control yourself”, said Laren who began to drag Zaleb towards the game zone since the thief had been busy laughing at the fire wizard. Meanwhile, no one noticed as Tickle continued to make its way to find Laren…it wanted to eat.

When Laren and Zaleb reached the game zone, they could already see Nelson and Artin playing ‘Destroy The Mateon’, but strangely…Tino wasn’t there. “Hmm, Tino isn’t here”, said Laren as she sighed…guess he was doing something else right now. Laren walked over to one of the games where she could win a life sized mushroom doll as she began to throw…stars, trying to hit the moving targets. “Great…how am I suppose to win?” asked Laren who only hit one of them, but merely by luck. Meanwhile, Zaleb had been standing behind Laren…being amused by her determination and lack of ability to throw stars. “That’s it”, said Laren angrily as she pointed a fire arrow at the targets…they will burn! They all must burn! “Wait”, said Zaleb as he tried to calm down the angry fire wizard as he decided to do something…nice. “Let me try”, said Zaleb as Laren took a minute before moving aside; Zaleb took the throwing stars from the counter as he got ready. In three minutes, Zaleb knocked down all the targets and it took only a minute before Laren gave the thief a tight hug for winning the gigantic mushmom doll. ‘…’, Thought Zaleb as his face blushed red; he never was ‘this’ close to a girl before…click? “Got it, Gin would love to see this”, laughed Nelson as he waved at the two while holding a camera. “Yeah, he probably going to laugh his head off”, said Artin as they both began to run…not sure if they were going to be attacked by fire arrows or ninja stars. “So…let’s go to the rides”, said Laren who didn’t notice Tickle was at her feet; it was finally going to get something to eat. Sadly, Laren began to drag Zaleb away and accidentally knocked the Tick onto it’s back…again, this was sure turning into an adventurous…and hungry day for the little guy.

“You get scared easily, you know that?” asked Kai as she left the Roller Coaster while dragging a disoriented Jay. “How did I know this was part Roller Coaster and Horror Show?” yelled Jay who didn’t like the fact there were real life Cursed Eyes everywhere…Jr. Wraith overhead…Black Ratz at the bottom and to top it off…they had to hold a Jr. Yeti that all looked friendly, except the one he was holding…it looked dangerous. “Well…that was fun”, said Kai who had been clung to by the pure fear that enveloped the great fire wizard. “Well, I am sorry”, said Jay who sighed at the failure in his ‘get a kiss from Kai’ plan before thinking he should go back to the hotel. “It’s okay, I thought it was Kawaii”, said Kai as she walked up to Jay, giving him a kiss on the cheek before walking off. Jay blushed more than his red outfit could ever be as he jumped up and cheered, Kai giggled hearing the fire wizards outburst…it was amusing. “Well…let’s go to the other rides”, said Jay who forgot about going back to the hotel as he walked up to Kai and was now super hyper. Meanwhile, Tino walked by and had taken a picture using his camera…this was going to be a good way to get mesos. “This is great…they didn’t even notice”, said Tino who smirked at how easily it was to hide himself…but thought this was truly ‘too easy’. “Huh?” asked Tino as he saw a quick blur walk by and thought it looked…familiar. Without a moment, Tino followed wondering whom it was…but having the suspicion that it wasn’t good.

It was a while now, Laren and Zaleb met up with Jay and Kai as the four began to go on every carnival ride they could see…well, except one. “The Tunnel of Love, that’s the last one right?” asked Zaleb as he was still a bit dizzy by the last ride…he couldn’t even remember the name of it right now. “Yup, this one and then we are set”, said Jay as they got in line, as he began to think about kissing Kai…on the lips! “Finally”, said Zaleb who stood near Jay to see both girls were giggling about something. “Why do girls always have these girly talks?” asked Zaleb as Jay was too dazed about the kiss to pay attention to the thief. Suddenly, Zaleb was knocked out of balance by a very tired, hungry, and furious…but cute Tickle as it finally found Laren, it squealed as Laren saw her lovable pet. “Oh Tickle…you hungry?” asked Laren as she ran over and knocked Zaleb forward…and causing what must be the most terrifying moment in history. Jay had turned to look at Laren at the word ‘Tickle’, but was knocked over by Zaleb and…they kissed! Zaleb and Jay were blushing readily as Nelson appeared happy he got this moment on camera before going back to finding a food stand…and Artin, Kodak moment. Jay pushed Zaleb off him as he was about to kill the thief with his strongest and blazing fire arrow, but stopped when he heard Kai laugh along with Laren’s. “Wow brother, I didn’t know you liked…well, not girls”, laughed Laren as Kai continued to laugh, but in his mind…no Meso for Laren. Zaleb blushed as he felt very disturbed by this, he never realized this would happen ever…he was really hoping to get a kiss from… “Hey…it’s our turn”, said Kai as she began to drag an angry Jay towards the ride, she didn’t want to wait another hour or longer. “Don’t worry, I think it was cute too”, said Laren who gave Zaleb a little kiss on the cheek before leading him to the ride.

“Sorry…Zaleb, but this ends now”, said a mysterious sniper who wore a fairly concealing uniform and sighed. The sniper had been waiting here at the Tunnel of Love, knowing sooner or later…he would appear. He held a fairly powerful crossbow and placed a single arrow on it. “Good bye”, said the sniper as he took aim at the thief and fired the arrow. “Holy Arrow!” yelled Tino as he shot down the arrow while the sniper was shocked…how did he get here. “Hold it”, said Tino as he already got another Holy Arrow ready, but the sniper had already loaded an arrow and pointed it at Tino. “Guess I will have to take care of you before taking care of him”, said the sniper as he held the crossbow firmly in his hands while Tino was very uncertain. “Why are you trying to attack them? They are my friends”, said Tino as he glared at the sniper who laughed. “Because one of them deserves this”, said the sniper as he shot the arrow…and so did Tino. The Holy Arrow merely grazed the sniper’s shoulder as the sniper’s arrow suddenly exploded into a net, capturing the cleric. “No”, said Tino as he was caught, he can’t use a magic attack…this net was magic resistant. “Well, looks like you got caught…the irony”, said the sniper as he left in a hurry…if he can’t kill him there, he will get them when they come out of the tunnel.

As the ride began, Zaleb was a little nervous as it got dark…really dark, he couldn’t tell what was happening here. “Scared?” asked Jay who could heard the quivering, knowing it had to be Zaleb. “No, I am just…cold”, said Zaleb as the fire wizard chuckled…Kai sighed as she thought this would be ‘romantic’…but not too romantic. Laren sat silently as she giggled and hugged the thief, it seemed apparent that she found this sensitive side to the thief…intriguing. Zaleb suddenly felt something move around the ride…something furry, a jr. yeti? A leatty? Or was it something dangerous. Suddenly he felt whatever it was jump as Kai began to scream…suddenly Jay began to scream as everyone was panicking around him. Suddenly, he could even hear Jay and Kai trying to get up, the fire wizard waving his Evil Wings like crazy as it slipped out of his hand. Whatever it was jumped in between Jay and Kai as it…squealed? In moments, the ride was already over as the sniper blinked at what he could see. Jay was kissing Kai who seemed to be staring at Tickle as it squealed happily, it seemed that the Tick was excited after eating something. Behind the couple, an Evil Wings lay next to Zaleb who looked like the magician’s weapon had hit him on the head…which somehow caused the thief to unknowingly kiss Laren. ‘So many events rolled together to get this…pure chaos theory’, thought the sniper who put the crossbow away and pointed something at them. “Gotcha”, said the sniper as he got a picture of it on his camera. “This is great”, laughed the sniper who decided to let Zaleb live for now…he will be dead one way or another. The sniper was sure that it was going to be the other way as he watched Jay looking behind him and yelled, “Hey! Don’t kiss my sister you thief!” Kai giggled as she took a close up of the couple…it seemed Laren had fallen asleep after the kiss, sweet dreams.
