I sit here in silence and wonder during this hour-long server check, wondering what I had gotten myself into. I guess to sum it up, today I did quite a bit. I leveled, changed my hair from cute to grotesque, AND solo’d the fabled Jr. Barlog. At only level 66.

My day started off fairly average, with 33% at about 10 AM. I was training at zombies, as usual, and by 2 pm, I was at 80%. Then Shmooki showed up, just home from school, and we trained together till I leveled. Lately I had been getting tired of my curly hair (Too many people have it, and it isn’t my style), so I was hoping for something a little more dangerous and interesting. Therefore, I had milked $5 out of my mum, who’s owed me for quite sometime anyway.

Once I had leveled, I sped off toward Orbis, Shmooki right behind me. When we had got there, we both crossed our fingers as I tried the first coupon. No good. I just ended up with the default I had started with, way back in good old newbie ages. I tried again, and cursed rather loudly when I saw that I ended up with the same curly, girly hairstyle I had started with.

So basically, I had just wasted $5 and nothing changed.

Angry at the game, I stomped to mum and then practically flopped over and begged pathetically for another $5. After much negotiations, I came to an agreement, and more money was mine. I was full of glee at this time, quickly running back to my room to set yet another $5 to my account. This time I would get a good hairstyle, I was sure of it! To avoid getting my old hairstyle again, I wasted an extra 10k on a trip to Ludi, and bought two coupons for that hair shop.

Once I finally arrived, at that time, Shmooks had gone AFK on family things, and my good friend Rae had showed up to watch me change hairstyles yet again. After waiting on Shmooks for quite a while, we decided to use the first coupon. It turned out okay, but it wasn’t what I wanted. It was long and dark with pale blonde streaks on it.. the reason I didn’t like it was because;

A.) It wasn’t my style.
B.) No offense to anyone who DOES have it, but I only seem to come across extreme female noobs with that hairstyle.

So, we waited anxiously for another hour at the Ludi Pet Place for Shmooki to come back (which he did), and caught up with us quite quickly. I finally entered the Hair Shop for the final time to get yet another style, so sure I’d get something fantastic. I clicked on the random hair coupon and…

Boy, was I wrong.

My final coupon was gone. I turned out into a hideous character with ugly old woman hair, ‘Ellie’ I think it was called. It’s pale and gray, and looks as though a 5-year old had taken a shaver to it in all the wrong places. I laughed at this, very hard, while both Rae and Shmooks gained the awkward F6 look. After all this time, after all this money spent, I ended up with an ugly hairstyle. Possibly the worst their is. But my hat disguises it okay, I just look bald.

Oh well, c’est la vie.. such is life. Guess I’m stuck like this for another two or three months. I never quite knew how much I liked my girly curls until I lost them.. now I wish I didn’t change them in the first place.
Disappointed and hyper (what a scary combo), I went back to Orbis, to be greeted by Fee, who needed my help gathering 100 solid horns. It was a snap, and we gathered them all in less than 5 minutes, I didn’t even need to use my savage blow. After doing so, I bid her farewell and heading back to Vic to go donate to Za, whom was short on cash and (although protesting) I was donating to. But by the time I had arrived, it was about 11 PM CST, and he needed to go to bed, so that plan was more or less a bust.

So I took a break for a while, in such time, I kicked back, listening to music and drinking my soda, during which time a server check was scheduled to take place in an hour from that time. I grumbled at this, but then Dave, whom was in Ludi, asked if I wanted to go do something fun. Sure, I replied, so he headed to Vic straight away and we met in Ellinia. Since we only had an hour, Dave, as a suicide gag, asked if I wanted to go J-rogging. Why not? I had about .18% to lose, an easy amount to make back. So we both scrolled to Sleepywood, and I was glad to do something to take my mind off my hair.. or lack thereof.

(For your information, Dave is a 4x cleric.) But at any rate, we went in, continuing down the path of darkness, past the evil eyes, till we had come to macis and spears. I was doing fine, as they only did 700 physical damage, since we weren’t attacking them, and Dave was faring well. Passing all that, we finally came to the Jr. Barlog’s lair, as fast as we possibly could, since there was only about 30 minutes left at that time. But no ‘rog there, as we both complained about that, then I urged another channel excitedly, not minding to die, and he agreed. We changed channels, and repeated the process till we again returned to the lair.

Finally I came to the bottom, not expecting a barlog, but jumping right onto one. I yelped in surprise, leaping back onto the rope with only 200 hp left and Dave calmly healed me. After a few moments pause, we decided he would spam heal while I attacked, then leaping into the fray! But alas, he seemed to have lagged at the last moment, with both the barlog and I attacking at the same time, and both of us died quite quickly.

But I was amazed. Not at the fact that we had both died, but that at the fact that I had survived one magic hit AND I had dealt over 1k damage. I could do this! I thought to myself, determined to kill him now, knowing that I could. I asked and more or less whined to Dave if he would come back with me, but he didn’t want to lose any more exp, so we made agreement that he would help me to the barlog, and I’d have to kill him alone.

The clock was ticking. There was only 20 minutes left. I had to do this and this was my chance! I didn’t wait for him, but rather went straight to Lith and into the VIP cab, heading up at the 24-hour store, looking for any HP pots stronger than an unagi. Unfortunately, there was none, so I settled with what I had, hurrying as fast as I could into the lair. I sped past everything, ending up at the barlog yet again with only 15 minutes left. I urged and cheered myself on to kill it, my heart was racing and my hands were shaking.

The battle began.

I jumped at it, my dagger raised high, repeatedly preforming Savage Blow while holding down the unagi key, barely surviving every hit. My focus got blurry, I was so excited. But it went on and on, I didn’t give up, I kept fighting, slashing and slashing, attacking it with all my might! After about 5 minutes, to my utter surprise and amazement, it died. I had slain the legendary monster at level 66. I had spent almost 100k in unagi, but I did it and it was absolutely worth it!

My heart felt like it was about to explode, I was so excited. So unnatural of me, I spammed my victory to all my friends online, which was only Dave and Mippu. At that point, I was at such an emotional high, if my family wasn’t sleeping, I would’ve screamed out loud. Finally Dave caught up with me, and I proved that I had actually killed it by handing over the Power Elixirs I had picked up.
