Anti-Hackers, The real motives.

This is getting just crazy, the mass of spam about hackers is getting me nuts. To be completly honest, it doesn’t bother me at all that hackers are around. It is just something that people have to accept. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE HACKERS NO MATTER HOW MANY PATCHES THERE ARE, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU BAN THEM, THEY ALWAYS COME BACK. So to go out your way and spend10-20 bucks announcing over megaphone that there is a hacker around is really idiotic.

I believe that the real reason that people hate hackers is not because they “mess up the game for everyone”, because they aren’t doing any harm to YOU by leveling THEMSELVES up. I really think that poeple hate hackers because THEY ARE JEALOUS. Yeah i know, they do level up so fast while the rest of us strive to atleast get 50% a day. They do make the most money, but think about it. Free Market is basically supplied by hackers. How else would someone have like 7 soul singers.

Some people just need to deal, let them do what they do because in the end we will feel the true feeling of accomplishment, and not them. It’s a game. Get over it.

  1. Although I respect your opinion, i must disagree with you on some points. I believe that jealousy has little to do with the general public outcry against hackers. It is because that the amount of effort and time we put into lvling our characters are being left in the dust by those who refuse to play the game correctly. Imagine you worked in a small cubicle for a large company, after years of devotion and hard work, you become promoted to a much higher position. However, a new employee straight from graduate school ascends to a position higher then you through bribery and deceit. Wouldnt you be pissed off? Do you stop to ask yourself, is it jealousy? no, its natural human instincts to be pissed at injustice.
Also, fueling the free market is good, but the hackers cause major shifts in the prices of items. They put too much items in circulation, reducing prices and personal value. Finding a kumbi just doesnt feel special anymore =/ Also consider the fact that most hackers are arrogant and selfish, they label others as “noobs” and consider themselves pros.

  2. Hackers still annoy me, but I wouldn’t waste real money to attempt to attract the attention of a GM. Unfortunately, a lot of hackers are really big pains =. I think we all need to kick back sometimes and realize that it’s a game. Most “hackers” merely download programs that help the hack. They aren’t the actual code-developers for the hack. Once they reach real life, they’ll realize that it just isn’t that simple to succeed. Life’s formula is completely different.

  3. AJuice, Ofcourse i would be pissed off in that senario, but again MS is NOT a job its a GAME. If you think about MOST people in Ms are arrogant. MS is majorly played by younger people, so i can understand why most people are so ignorant. Im not trying to put your opinion down, but there are tons of other people that out level others everyday, but they aren’t payed no attention. I believe that because hackers lvl so fast so effortlessly, is why people are jelous. It’s like saying ” I have been fighting to so hard to get to lvl 60, and some guy just started yesterday and is already lvl 54. I’m mad!”
See it all depends on how mad you are. Of course you will get mad, but if you get mad and take it to the next level like following him around, and megaphoning. I’ll say that most likely its jealousy. If someone cares SO MUCH, to go all out of their way to try to get them banned, then it must be something personal.

  4. I don’t think it’s jealousy even if you do stalk the hacker. Like you said yourself, arrogance. Most MSers are arrogant. So why do they have to be jealous just because of a hacker? How come they’re just not slapped with your arrogant tag and left at that?

Even if MS is just a game, to some it’s considered a hobby, and to have that hobby dampered by people who don’t want to take that time to level, or to complete quests, or freaking take the mobs you were killing first, is just not fair to those that worked hard for it.

And I don’t think “wasting megaphones” should be complaint by ANYONE, because that “$10-$30” people are wasting on using them, is what’s keeping MS free.

  5. Yoonhozo, ok let’s say that is IS someone’s hobby. If is YOUR hobby to level up, and play the right way, then what does it matter if SOMEONE else is not. YOU are still leveling, so technically that hobbie, in my opinion is not being “dampered at all”. I still dont understand how hackers cause so much “problem”, there are 20 channels. How easy is it to just, Change channel if a hacker is gettin in the way of your training. Most hackers themselves change channel when people are around. I still think that it is just jealousy. If you are leveling, but you are concerned that someone else is leveling up faster, i dont know about you, But to me it sounds like jealousy.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not pro-hacker, but I have come to accept that in reality there is nothing we can do to stop them. So we just have to deal. There will always be away around gameguard, not matter how many patches there are. It takes a hacker about a week or two to figure out a new way to bypass. For example, the last patch before Zakum, there was an AMAZING decrease in hacking, but what happend a couple of days later? They came back and at full throttle.

I’d like to say that AJuice’s IQ has to be exceeding at least 150.
Anyways, Hackers piss me off. I’ve even reported friends that hacked, even if it was simply autoclicking for the Ludi PQ (They told me, I don’t report when people say ‘REPORT XXX, THEY AC’). As well, when you say it’s just a game, Wizet would probably attract/keep more maplers if there were less hackers, and they would be more likely to attract cash shop users as well. Even though it’s just a game, I’d say at least 20% of the people at higher (40+ levels) have cash items. If there are over 550,000 registered users, and 10% of users spends 10$ (which many spend way more), a funded game should probably have technicians that know how to counterhack. Hire the hackers to block hackers *shrug.*

  7. wow
if every1’s opinion of hacking was shared by the poster of this blog, everywhere u go, ud see hackers. how wouldu feel seeing hackers in every zone hacking U, stealing ur items, vacing like there’s no 2moro. every1 would be like max lvl, and if ur not hacking, then ur a n00b and every1 will just look down on u. do u WANT to be forced to hack just to be a “normal” player, since hacking would be a norm.
hacking will never ever be completely stopped, so y just give up and not strive for SOME ideal. even if its unreachable, we dont HAVE to give quarter to hackers. mrbasil started the hacker section so that people would be able to report hackers and ban them. now hackers r somewhat scared of hacking since they see that SOMETHING is being done about it.

also, my motives against hacking is that i dont want it to be OK and i dont want to see every1 hacking cuz hacking simply doesnt look fun. standing in a spot hitting attack. training is boring enough as it is, id HATE for hacking to be normal and accepted.
also also, whenevr i train and i find NO hackers, i find SOO much loot. but when i find hackers, i find no loot. this has happened SOO many times, so im not gonna just think of it as a concequence. so i want to be able to train and actually find stuff. it sucks when u train and u find absolutly no loot and hackers get everyhting without ANY effort while u bust ur A–

  8. LOL. I don’t see the reason getting all worked up over this. There is no way that anyone can stop all the hackers r there. NEULTIMA I know how u feel. Hackers should be ban but they’re just gonna make new account and start hacking again. I’m not supporting hacking or anything but they do supplied the free market. The only problems is they’re screwing up the prices of everything. At least those hackers should get a brain so they know not to throw so much items in circulation and screw everything around for the rest of us.

  9. Well, for some reason or another hacks don’t annoy me either. It’s Wizet’s game. Ppl who scream about hackers are probably people who are really devoted to Wizet (*cough*HyunieJjang*cough*), and want to help out Wizet for some reason. Well Wizet wants hackers banned because the hackers are messing up Wizet’s game. If someone screwed with your stuff and discovered the codes you spent $200 to create, would you be worked up? I’m guessing your answer would be a yes. If it was a no then you have a personality that likes to let ppl screw around with you o.O.

  10. Uh, yeah, that’s why I post screenshots and email Wizet about hackers in Maple Story. . it’s ’cause I’m so extremely jealous that they get so much EXP in one day, and get all those great item drops that I wish I could sell and make as much money as them. You’ve figured me out, you must be psychic or something.

Who the hell strives to get 50% a day? You said it’s just a game, anyone who puts that much time into Maple Story “is really idiotic.”

There’s always this group of people like you posting rants in BasilMarket’s forums and posting comments on screenshots (as well as whispering in-game people who hate hackers) about how we’re just jealous of the hacker. Sure they’re gonna fix their hacks every time a patch comes out, and it’ll start all over again. I really could care less. If I go to every channel of DMT and there’s some hacker offscreen, I’m gonna be pissed about it because it’s interfering with my training. Maybe megaphones aren’t a lot of money to the person using them, have you ever thought about that? Money is relative. You need to think things through before just repeating the same old stuff that all the other angry pro-hacker people have said. Read MatrixPortal’s comment too.

  11. there are 2 types of hackers

1: person who uses hacks (eg fly hack, vac hack) to train faster and/or disrupt others’ training areas

2: person who is too lazy to train so they just hack other accounts to get mesoes/hi-lvl chars

sadly I encountered the secont type of hacker twice
I got hacked out of all my stuff exept my jester o_O

  12. Incredible topic =0 Must join in.

For legit players, Hackers ruin our game. I don’t think that it’s a fact of jealousy. I’m not jealous of their cheated items and levels. I’m more proud of any 1 of my levels than they are for all their levels combined. I think it’s a fact of people should play the game RIGHT. It says in the rules that you accept when you join not to use, buy, sell, or trade any form of hacking information or program. If they break the rules that they told us in the beginning, WHY SHOULD THEY BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE PLAYING? Seriously.

Here’s my thought about the “Anti-Hackers”. Remember the Nazi Party and Hitler? Yeah, I’m sure you’ve heard of him. Him and his army were slowly allowed to take over germany with his nice sounding offers and anger against a certain people’s ways. Few people spoke against the Nazi Party. Eventually it came to the point where you were either with him, or you were shot for trying to speak up.

This can be compared to hackers as well (on a MUCH less important scale). The people who give nice sounding offers (OMG quick levels!) and speak up against a certain people (LEGIT is slooow) are hackers. But unlike the people who DIDN’T speak up in Germany, there are people in our game RIGHT NOW willing to put their time and NX into speaking up against hackers, one hacker at a time.

I believe this is one of the reasons that our MapleStory hasn’t been overrun by hackers. Imagine how many more hackers there would be if nobody Megaphoned or reported them? We’d be overrun by cheaters, 3 vaccers a map even. Even on the largest Global MS server, there’s only what, about 10-12 GM’s? As opposed to “Over 1 million users” registered? They can’t catch them all themselves. Everytime that megaphone shows up reporting a hacker’s name and location, it’s a reminder to legit players thinking about trying hacking that hacking doesn’t pay in the long run.

    In short, Long Live Anti-Hackers.

[Yeah, that got long. Maybe I should Copy and Paste this into my blog.]

  13. Actually, in response to xxcleric87, I’d like to say that there are four types of hackers and they are:

    (1) Personal Hacker — Someone who hacks to gain for themselves, eg: Vac hackers, trade hackers, account hackers, etc.

    (2) Attack Hacker — Someone who hacks to ‘attack’ others. Such as those who vac the monsters to the point where someone is as to kill them. This can include many types of things that personal hackers do as well.

    (3) Helper Hacker — These are the types of people that everyone would just love to party with. These are the ones who use hacks to help others level up or get good items. The most abundant case are ones that vac or can boost fame multiple times in one day.

    (4) Joker — These are the people that use things like fly hacks to amuse people.

I’ve decided to only report the second kind. The first kind only if I happen to be the one that gets hacked by them. Otherwise I don’t care and would actually like to become one of the last two.
