World Vs. Us~ Story -ENDING-

Recap:
I slowly searched around my sack to find an elixir, hoping with all my heart I didn’t run out. After that few dreadful seconds, I knew there was none, and I was left helpless, Marie was too busy fending off some stray soldiers, leaving me an open target for the Dark Lord!

Author’s note: A lot of you didn’t read the last chapter (chapter 4) I’ve noticed, so please do so at: here

Also, this is the last chapter of the story (if you haven’t noticed by the title already). And this chapter will be longer than I will usually write, enjoy 😀

=====================================================================

Using the very last of my mana, I held my Evil Wings parallel to the horizon, holding it with both hands, and chanted.

“Aba Uno Ari Maq…Ceturio!”

As a holy cross appeared from above my feet, I lifted one of my hands off my Evil Wings, and touched my necklace for a boost of magic.

Quickly going back to my defensive position, I clutched my staff, and braced for the deadly ilbis that the Dark Lord was throwing my way.

Right before the ilbis faced against my spells, I saw red flames circling them.

‘Oh no…’ I thought, ‘the stars are powered by Critical Hit.’

I felt the ilbis smash into the top of my staff, and the shock of the Critical Hit was so strong that I couldn’t help but to throw my Evil Wings onto the ground, completely destroying the crystal jewel that powered the staff’s magic.

The Dark Lord himself was heading straight for me, faster than ever with his incredibility skilled haste.

All I was left with, was a staff without its power cord, a smashed jewel, and my knowledge about basically everything I’m never going to use on because…

I’ll die, in a few seconds, minutes…it didn’t matter now.
Looking at the indent the jewel left on the Evil Wings, it seems as if time stopped for me right then, everything stopped moving, and my thoughts were kicking into accelerating gear.

Quickly as I can, I ran over to my Evil Wings, and picked it up carefully.

Next, in my desperation, I literally ripped the Black Crystal Jewel off my necklace, and put it in the indent of where the smashed crystal was.

A perfect fit.

I felt a pulse in toward me, and suddenly, I was fully healed, my powers felt tenfold stronger than they were before, and in my thoughts, was a spell, one that I didn’t know before, I started chanting.

“Araku mau rei wrs inku!”

A holy lady appeared behind me, she was all dressed in blue, and was wearing an outfit that made her whole body glow.

The lady slowly walked over to the Dark Lord, and pointed her elegant finger at him.

A spark of light flashed in front of the Dark Lord’s eyes, blinding him and hurting him severely.

I quickly took that chance and shot a holy arrow straight into the Dark Lord’s chest, killing him almost immediately.

Tired as I was, I still had some mana left.

Walking over to Marie, I quickly healed her and flashed her a happy smile, we won this war.

“C’mon Marie, lets go home!” Marie said to me cheerfully.

“Tsk tsk tsk my dears, aren’t you forgetting something?” Scarlet jumped right in front of us.

“Look honey, you killed my husband, and now your gunna…”

Before she could finish her sentence, Marie regenerated a bit and used a Power Strike to knock Scarlet off her feet.

In reaction to this, Scarlet threw a few ilbis in our direction, missing by what seemed like miles.

“Scarlet, look, did you really think you could’ve beaten us with that terrible aim?” Marie laughed.

“Aww…such innocent dears. Did I say that I was aiming at you girls?”

I turned around, and there, was a Lycanthrope, the evolved version of a werewolf, headed straight for Marie.

No, I can’t let that happen, what should I do, what should I do?!

I was all out of mana, and couldn’t do anything at all to save Marie, and the fact that Marie was terribly injured during the battle means that 1 hit from that deadly monster and her life is gone.

It all became clear that split second, how I can save Marie from the World of the Dead.

Ohh…What should I do!?

I took a deep breath, and thought…

Marie, this is my way of saying thank you, for saving me on that terrifying day.

Without another second’s delay, I dived in front of Marie, and took the killer hit for her, which instantly knocked me to the ground, and I stopped breathing.

Being a Cleric, no, a Priest, now. I had some magic which allowed me to stay here a bit longer, just enough.

I held Marie’s hand, and chanted a spell, that was to lead her back to El Nath, where she can regenerate fully, so she’ll be ready, to take on Scarlet.

When we arrived at El Nath, I was fading away quickly, becoming transparent.

“Marie, I just wanted to let you know…you were the closest thing to a sister to me, it was nice meeting you.” I said, and could see tears in her eyes.

“Marie please don’t go away! Please don’t go and abandon me here! Please! Please…” Marie kept saying to me.

But by then, I couldn’t hear her anymore, I couldn’t hear anyone anymore, I was gone forever from this world.

THE END! :O

  1. The death scene HAD lots of potential. You could have dragged it on for at least a while more. Why are you in such a hurry to end it? Kinda anti-climatic, imo. :/
