I’m completely fine with sublcasses. They add a new challenge to the game. I’m sure a lot of Maple Story players know what I mean. Since the subclasses really don’t follow the rules, they are much weaker, which most players don’t mind.
It’s simple, you do what the game recommends, and you get an easier route rather than doing what the game doesn’t recommend.
For example, on Maple Story, Super Noob. You aren’t recommended to stay that class for a really long time. Yet, it adds a challenge that players like. It’s the reason why we play games. A challenge.
You can’t say no. Comeon, give me another reason why you beat Halo 2 on Legendary?
Yet, what happens when a sublcass is better at plaver versus everything (PvE) than the regular class is? What happens when a class goes almost completely unused because of the easy route, yet not recommended by the game?
This, fellow bloggers, is called a Bow Jesters. Jesters have more players that are or were Bow Jesters than actual Jesters.
Now, let me clear this up. When an Acrobat changes to a Jester, their critcal rate makes a huge jump. It only take four dexterity to give one percent critcal rate. Now, to keep the yo yo from constantly keeping enemies airborn, Jesters instead knock back their oponnents with out temporarily keeping them from attacking altogether.
Bow Jesters use a bow, yet keep the critical rate. So, the enemies can rarely attack while the player keeps hammering away at the monster. Because of this, this sublcass is one of the fastest leveling classes in the game.
Now, this doesn’t make any sense. How can a class that isn’t support to exist better than the class the developers made?
Now, don’t get me wrong. The first person to came up with this, pure genious. All these other people are simply copycats that much rather see their levels run up rather than say they worked hard for it.
Let’s call these people Tards.
Now, regularly, the class is looked down upon by everyone… Except the Tards. The Tards only care about seeing that level reach the hundreds, no matter what the cost, as fast as possible. Which isn’t really hard.
Yet, these Tards think they are above everyone since their class is better at person versus person (PvP) and player versus monster (PvM) than all other classes. Because the Tards value their level more than how they got it, they choose the Bow Jester class.
Even when the Tards recieve ridicule, they act snobbish as if they are Gods of the game.
The Tards even think Jesters should have bow skills to make their class even stronger. I’ve seen it.
Now, let’s move on to something else.
The critical rate. How does a little stick send a large monster flying? Last I checked, these are sharp arrows.
I’m not a physician of any kind but if anythingthat small and sharp had enough force to send something like a Crane Machinery flying, the arrow would snap or pierce the target before actually being able to send the target remotely airborn.
Imagine going to an archery range and seeing targets sitting on the floors flying twenty feet back when hit by a arrow. Sounds preposterous, eh?
That’s why I suggest that criticals should be able to do more damage, yet definetly not actually cause the monster to move. Make the game a bit more realistic physics-wise.
Now, let’s talk about the game developers reaction to this. Since many people dislike Bow Jesters and the Tards that play them, you would expect Gala-Net would do something, seeing as how this class is better with a bow rather than the real weapon the class was meant for, right?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
The same company that confirmed the new skill change despite half the FlyFF population being against it?
Nope. Apparently, there are a few Tards in the developement team.
There have been many suggestions to stop the Bow Jester thing. Remove the critical rate bonus… Make bow Acrobat and Ranger only…
All simple and effective.
But…
That was made by Chris a couple of months ago. Though, the people are still stubborn enough to say that Version Seven of FlyFF would “nerf” them.
Coincedentally, that’s the update they are planning the skill change system.
So, if that does go through, I’m quitting FlyFF. I’m not going to play a game that is not interested on hearing it’s customers/players.
<Insert awesome conclusion here.>
(This is just a filler blog until FlyFF gets working again. Please enjoy, either way.)
. i dont get anything, but the insert awesome conclusion
The Ninja beat Halo with his feet. Once.
On Easy.
I beat halo. Too.
In a game, there always seems to be a struggle to keep all class types relatively balanced in ‘efficiency’ while still staying true to the accepted interpretations of that type of character. It seems like these Bow Jesters are severely unbalaced in terms of damage, and I understand how frustrated you feel. D=
Dev. Tard 1: Huh, half of the players don’t want us to change the skills.
Dev. Tard 2: But that means the other half wants us to!
Dev. Tard 1: You’re right! Full steam ahead!
Oh hmm, RPG conflict. I’ve always known PvE as “player versus environment” and not “player verses everything”, and my definition of a subclass seems different from yours. (Or am I thinking of a subjob? Multiclassing? Hmm.)
<Insert nice statement about blog here.>
Lammy pwned bow jesters. ;D
