Chapter 5 – Sudden Urge of Action.
“Its you.” Aoi’s voice echoed in Raku’s head as he once again turned towards Ryn and grinned evilly.
“Old man you better heed my warning…” but before he continued to say more he dashed behind Aoi and held his dagger at her throat. “Or your last living relative dies.”
Aoi gasped as she felt him paralyze her arm, making her unable to reach her sword in defense. Yet she felt a wave of safety and trust coming from Raku, as she stared at her father still shocked and amazed. The worried look in her father’s eyes made her only smile gently, as if she was signaling that she would be alright. Ryn saw the smile that her daughter showed him, and could only think that she was sacrificing herself for his sake. He trembled knowing that if her daughter would die, that there would not be another leader to take his place after he died. but the smile that Aoi had showed Ryn made him wonder if he should trust his daughter’s actions.
“We’ll give you the dagger that you seek, just let go of my only daughter..” Ryn placed his hands down to his sides and kneeled down on his knee. “Please… I beg of you. Let Aoi go.”
Raku was shocked that Aoi’s father would plead to him to let go of his daughter’s life, yet he had to stick to the plan that his father told him to abide by. Turning his head to the side, Raku could not look at Ryn’s eyes as he whispered a vague ‘sorry’ before he stole Aoi away in the darkness of the world around them.
“Where are you taking me?” Aoi struggled against his tight grip around her waist as she felt him dashing quickly between trees. “Answer me!”
“Shut up you spoiled brat! Ugh sleeping in a nice bed, having good food and water! We have to surivive on our stupid skills and hunting! I’ll never tell you where I’m heading at!” Raku pouted as he continued to dash from tree to tree.
Aoi began to get worried about her father and the rest of her friends as she was being kidnapped by the mysterious and obnoxous rival as she sighed, knowing that struggling with him was no use. Raku seemed to be stronger than her and could overpower her with just an ample amount of his strength, yet she began to wonder why she and not someone else had been kidnapped from her clan. She looked at the quickly moving surroundings as she could feel the leaves and the tree branches slightly hit her shoulders and legs, but Raku had been careful when he dashed around the larger more thicker branches to make sure that she had not been harmed.
“The Dagger that your clan is looking for… what’s so important about it?” Aoi decided if she could at lease grab a tiny bit of information from her kidnapper as she heard him chuckle with his cool and slick voice.
“The Mystical Dagger, the one dagger that cannot be broken or rust, it is the one true dagger that led us to our rise and power when we first started our clan. Your father however, won it from us after my pathetic excuse of a leader lost a damn bet with him.” Raku’s voice hardened as he continued. “The last leader was my blood before me; my brother. Takuya, who was banned from our clan since this incident, was the one who lost our dagger and pride to the likes of you swords who look down on others who are poor and misjudge the good of heart. And you say that you are the loyal samaritans of the lands! Samaritans my butt! Your clan who can’t even take a young boy just because he isn’t royal blooded, rich, or has someone significant connected to him!”
Aoi sighed and made sure that she never talked about the Mystical Dagger anymore, the last thing she wanted was for him to be upset with her causing in her death. She stayed quiet through out the whole time as Raku soon approached his clan’s headquarters. She sensed a certain foul odor in the air as she held her breath and started to breath out of her mouth preventing from vomiting, Aoi knew that the headquarters were a dump compared to her home and her giant room. She wondered how Raku could have lived in such a dark and smelly place for so long, and he didn’t even smell like the dump.
“If you’re wondering why this place smells, it is due to the wastes that we throw out from our headquarters. You see this is the prison where we take hold of your fellow clansmen. I hope you enjoy your stay.” She could hear him chuckle as he finally came to a halt and placed her down. “I wouldn’ t do anything stupid though, remember I’m faster with my dagger than your sword…”
Aoi held her sword’s hutch as she faced him once again, his dark ….
