Friends.

I’ve thought often about friends in MS. I made three really awesome ones quite some time ago, and later on I made another one, but a lot of the friends I made were made solely because I had given them stuff. Those ones usually didn’t last that long unless they had a continued need for items.

(This all takes place in Bera in case anyone was wondering. And I plan on deleting my original character from there eventually, but only after a new Server comes out, that way I can remake them on the new server, at least in name if not in any other fashion.)

The first two really awesome friends were Kloofeh and Izar(Lzar, I can never remember his name correctly. >_<) I met them on Maple Island killing Orange Mushrooms when I was first starting out. I had no clue about anything, I ended up doing 1-3 damage trying to kill Orange Shrooms for a long time until I discovered the slash button and from there, the ability window. >_< Of course once I found that out, I managed to screw up again, I put a bunch of points into Luk and Int (~16 if my memory is correct) and eventually was a Low Dex warrior, not really by choice, more because I didn’t know any better and had to keep my Str up to wear equips. Well as I was saying, I met them on Maple Island, they were collecting Orange Mushrooms as well, and we all sort of hung around in the same spot. (We shared the tops and kills, so we were there for quite a while.) And while we were there, we came up with Shroom Diving, the great MS sport! For those that don’t know about shroom diving, you can go look at my other blog about it. So after a while I became lvl 10 and left the island, Kloofeh and Lzar(Izar) remained as they were both a few lvls below me. Once in Victoria, and then in Perion, I realized I didn’t have the Str necessary to be a warrior, the class I usually chose to be as my first character in any game. To make a long story short, I eventually became a warrior, and while I was a bit messed up, I didn’t mind it too much, I had lots of fun training around Perion, and eventually met another awesome friend, ZhensChick. They actually politely asked if I liked to join them in a party, now I’m pretty much a solo type of person, but the fact that they had asked nicely really meant something to me since most of the time people just go “party?” or just invite you. The second one is fine for PQing, but otherwise I find it rather unacceptable and will decline. So I accepted and we trained. They managed to stay a lvl or two ahead of me no matter how hard I tried to catch up. (I should note, I was never completely sure of their gender, I was fairly sure it was guy playing a girl, but being polite, I never asked since it didn’t make any difference to me.) I’m actually pretty impressed I stayed as close in lvl to them since I had some funked up stats and skills. We trained around Perion, the first map East, and the first Map West when we got stronger. Kloofeh and Lzar later came to Victoria, Kloofeh deciding to be a thief and Lzar deciding to be a warrior like myself. We trained together when we were able to, and I found a hell of a lot of female thief stuff. I’m pretty sure I gave Kloofeh all the stuff she’d need for lvl 33 and maybe at a few other lvls too. XD Eventually my time schedual changed, and I couldn’t play at the same times any more which meant my friends were rarely on at the same time I was. I’m relativly sure around that time ZhensChick deleted me from their buddy list in favor of someone else that was on more often since I didn’t see them for a really long time. When I did see them again, I was about lvl 33, and they were about lvl 50-60. Also, they didn’t show up on my buddy list as being on. I saw them on the ride back from Ossyria actually, and they even remembered training with me, which was nice. Now as time went on, I was online, but didn’t really have any friends that were on, then I met PriceyRulz and Trentyboi. They needed some help getting Jr Neckis and I offered to help since I was pretty bored with training. (A warrior hunting Jr. Neckis is not an easy thing at all. >_<) At first Trent was the one who I talked to the most, but then after a while he left MS and Price and I had quite a few adventures. We went exploring all the way to Jr. Balrog’s spawning place, he died near the end though so I was the only one to get to see it. 😛 We hunted Panlids together, and in general had some fun. It was around this time that I started to expand on my other characters I had created. Mages, Thieves, Archers, and even other Warriors. As I did this, I began spending more and more time on other servers, and then I did something which pretty well made it so I didn’t want to play on Bera again, I restarted my original character. Seemed like a good idea, but as I was replaying the lower lvls, I began to really notice how crowded Bera was compared to the other servers I was playing on. This, combined with yet another schedual change, made it so I realy didn’t play when Price was on, and so I slowly stopped playing on Bera. Finally after a few months of inactivity on there, I retired the characters, npced all I owned, and gave it all to a deserving person.

So now I’m on Broa mostly, my gf even started playing just because she wanted to see what took up such big chunks of time. <.< Now she’s addicted to it and so is her brother. Still, the main reason she plays is to be around me, and I enjoy it, she’s helped me lvl up many of my characters just training with her, and the time I spend with her is probably some of my favorite times on MS. As time has gone on however, I have found I don’t collect many friends, part of it is the way I am, I’m a loner for the most part, and I don’t play exactly from x-y every day on the same character. Yet another problem is if you are different lvls or lvl at a different speed, it’s harder to stay in touch with them if you’re in Ludi and they’re in Victoria or vice-versa. Another part is finding good friends at all, I know there are good people on MS, but there’s quite a lot of people that will just use you for items or quests and don’t give a dam about you otherwise. And still others just have too many friends to keep one friend around if they only see them every once in a blue moon. <.< Not the earrings mind you, since those are pretty common now. XD So I continue to look for the awesome friends, or even just some good ones, and while doing so, I lvl up my characters slowly but surely.

Anyway, I thought I’d share some of my memories and thoughts on friends since I’ve read quite a few blogs about the subject recently and the subject has been on my thoughts. Please excuse any grammatical, spelling, or other errors you discover, at times I tend to type slower than my mind thinks which can result in some odd sentences, poor spelling, and other fun mistakes.

Anyway, there’s some more time I’ve wasted of your life. Mwahahahaha! <.< That was my Laugh of Time Wasting Doom.

  1. i made 4 great friends on broa, nabila1 and her brother darkchime, splitercell, and washuu, but they all seemed to stop goin on at around the same time(a few months ago). now the only friends i got are guild members (1 racist meany that i always defame XD) and my friends in real who play too. oh ya, and a hacker, but when i befriended her, she didnt hack. so i got maybe 4 real ms friends, and its not so great.
