Setbacks.

———————————————
Hey, I can deal with it.

Operational cash flow: -35 mil
Net exp change: -2%
Sanity level: 0

When Ludi came out, I waited at least a week before going there with my friends. The leader of my second guild led the initial expedition through the Omega Sector. I was on vacation when Aqua Road became available, so I missed the excitement of its release.

That said, why did I decide to go explore the “new” maps around Perion this weekend? [1]

Admittedly, I should have known that this computer would have the Sticky Keys option on by default. I definitely shouldn’t have been trying to use up my white potions. But come on. The clanking, fleshless buggers had poison.

Those calvary wannabes didn’t use just any kind of poison gas. Oh, no. They packed magical, delayed effect, poison burst ray guns. That, or they called upon the mystic powers embedded deep within their souls, using their collective will to call up a cleansing mist to defend their heartland against the heartless invader.

Either way, totally annoying.

A while back, I had seen some screenshots that held strange creatures, and I wanted to go check them out. As I walked around the excavation site, trying to find an entrance to the other area, I saw people heading towards the top right of the map.

The moment my shoes slipped through the portal, a couple of very skinny dogs assailed me with savage barks and bites. A puppy trailed behind them, similar in form but easily distinguishable from the rest by the bandage around its head. This one wandered forward morosely until it bumped into my legs, the force of our contact making him fall on his back legs.

My response being predominantly o.O and containing some ^_^, I hit them on their heads with my bow until they stopped moving.

Ah, yes. The joys of mindless violence.

I don’t know exactly how much exp I lost that day; I do know that I had had a tad bit over sixty percent. Since I wasn’t planning on leveling any time soon, a death didn’t upset me as much as it would have, say, last year.

DeathArrow18, a ranger in our guild, had recently bought a Metus for 110 mil or so and was grumbling that he couldn’t sell his Arund.

Iepiat: What atk?
Death: 98
Iepiat: Color?
Death: gold

Cue senseless grin.

We quickly came up with a price: 35 mil. This appeared to be an agreeable price, and I didn’t feel like demanding a better deal from a guild member. My only problem, of course, was coming up with fifteen more mil.

I went through my stockpile of scrolls; a 60% glove glove attack scroll coupled with a 60% overall Luk scroll would sell for about seventeen mil. Five minutes later, I was one happy Ranger. [2]

My purchase complete, I attempted to sneak in a picture with Death – but he blinked! His expensive Metus matches well with the rest of his equipment. [3]

More recently, I’ve learned that I’m terrible at stalking people.

Given permission from Shatred to add her to my buddy list, I did so. Subsequently, I attempted to find her in game and failed completely. [4]

Yes, I do know that Mushmom doesn’t live near the monkey forest. Don’t give me that look.

I may have let my general paranoia get to me when I first added Shatred; I wasn’t sure if I had typed the right username. Indicators that I had added a random stranger included the double question mark, the z and the multiple F. Sure, I act absurdly when I first meet people, but that’s just to see how much Iepiat they can take. I actually tabbed out of Maple and looked at previous blogs for examples of her typewriting.

Shatred is weird.

  1. That MapleTip in the fourth picture is talking about the fourth job advancement. It’s not even out, is it?

The “F’s” were a replacements for the four letter curse word that begins with “F.
