Jetlag.

The suitcase is unpacked, the computer’s on, the air outside is hot, and I’m home

Nearly two weeks ago, I was packing for a fifteen day vacation in Western Europe. My suitcase packed, I sought to readjust my sleep cycles: I stayed up ’til 5:00, slept three hours, got on an airplane, slept some more, and arrived in Amsterdam at 8:00 the next day.

It was fun.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t do the same thing coming back, and now I am tired. But enough broad generalizations about my private life…

Roveri: Hi
Moirea: hola
Moirea: long time no see o_O
Roveri: I checked MMOT and all of the blogs were about some sort of granola express
Roveri: So I had to check it out.

A day or two before I left, I decided to try Granado Espada to see how it had taken over the front page. The website looked promising – the backstory was at least semi-coherent, and I didn’t see any gobs lurking around to suddenly pop up and bless me.

My family would be the Roveri family. The three characters I decided to create were:

Serafino Roveri, Wizard
Andrea Roveri, Scout
Alessandro Roveri, Musketeer

I ran around the map with the bird monsters, wondering how those crocs could jump on their tiny legs and collecting round bits of salt (from the crocodiles, see).

It wasn’t until level six that I ran in far enough to see the waddling snowman, “Jack Frost”. [1] A cute little thing, with minuscule feet, a head larger than its body, a warm sweater wrapped around its neck, and a bullet hole between its eyes…

Hey, 100 Vis for a pile of fruit is pretty good.

Witlessly, I spent most of my newly minted cash on a redundant First-aid stance book. It turns out I already had the stance, but I couldn’t switch to it with a dagger equipped. *Grumble grumble*

Roveri: It’s supposedly 3:39 right now, but I’ve just spent two weeks in Europe, so my sleep cycles are all weird.
Moirea: 3:39.
Roveri: More than usual, I mean.
Moirea: *peers*

Having just gotten back the day before, jetlag befuddlement led me to wake up at an earlier time than usual (this is also the only time Silver ever gets on).

I had trained a bit earlier on, getting to level eighteen. [2] The screen shows me in the room with the three Dilos Lantemn bosses, staring at the huge army of “Forsaken” monsters. I’d thought that Undercovering and Quake would be able to handle them – but I died.

Quake is great though. My stances aren’t leveled up much, [3] but I think it’s the second coolest skill I have. Healing is better. 😉

Those things in the air? [4] Yeah, they’re monsters…

I met up with Silver in the Al Quelt Moreza dungeon. [5] She had the idea of getting in a squad to fight the boss, but we were split up into separate instances. Gah.

This screenie shows me just before I killed the third copy of the boss along with Silver exulting over her own victory. She beat me by forty seconds or so. ¬¬

Pfft, silly girl with her “tank”. I’ll just march bravely to my death, thanks.

Also, by her looting of people who train while ‘afk’, she happened to have more than 50 times the money I had. She had 100k, while I had 2k. (I had 60k of stuff like Ionium and Bulk Coal, though.)

So I set out to make some gold. I did the voucher quest, killed some minibosses, and did some looting of my own. It seems so many people put their family on patrol mode and go eat chips or something.

The result: Money! Yay!

  1. I had jet lag as well, it was fun while it lasted.

Oh my gawd. Granado Espada is just like Mabinogi! But only using 3 people at once!

    Have you played Mabinogi before?

  2. Ieatpie! Glad to have you back!

Those graphics kinda remind me of Shadow of the Colossus. =/

  3. Man I cant enter that place with the Bisons.

    It like super lags.

Darn Terrain had to be so graphicy. Even tho I lowered the graphics pretty low nothing changed.Dx

  4. HIIIIII.
    *glompounces*

I did march onward bravely, I did! I practically even did June! I just happen to do so without remembering to switch out of Individual mode, and thusly the fighter got left behind. . . -_-; So ‘silly girl’, uh, yourself!

    I like Apocalypse better.
