Quitting MMOtales?

THE BIGGEST QUESTION OF THE CENTURY!1

Why do people keep quitting MMOtales?

Alright, so far, I’ve heard of ppl quitting MMOtales for good. Well, I’ve been recently looking at some of the ppl tat dosen’t blog too much. And I’ve noticed something Very VEry VERy VERY VERY similiar with the some of the people that quitted. Some people come out with excuses like

No time… Don’t wanna blog.

Bored…

Alright, although it might sound proper as a lot of ppl say that, there was always a good reason for quitting.

I mean, in maple, you might quit because you were hacked… Or something with “emotion” problems. But I think the main reason is that people don’t feel their stories are exprieciated. I’m not talking about JesusFreak or Genesis… But there are some other ppl that rarely blog now. Well, when I first joined.. I found that those blog that are written by new people like “Hi, I’m new!” or “I’ve just joined =D” this kind of blogs, people totally ignore it. But now recently, I’ve found that more ppl are commenting and pressing likes. I’ve found some of this blogs on the front page. This really encourages a new writer to write.

BUT…

When this writer starts writing, his title is quite boring.. like.. Example..(Life of a Mage).. I don’t think much people will click it. The writer nvr sees any comment, thinks his/her blogs are stupid. Than slowly, he/she loses the spirit to write, and eventually quit. I’m not blaming anybody for not clicking blogs, but just, well, the atmosphere around here is getting bad. When I joined, it was quite joyful, espacially with Aaru, JesusFreak and Genesis around. But one by one, all the famous people left. Not much people wants to surf for new blogs as they only prefer their blogs. Than even more people quit.

I’m just saying this with my experience in MMOtales. It’s my opinion, so you can flame me if you want. But this is my thinking, and I think that we should welcome more people, be more friendly, and more people will want to join. Some of us only restrict ourselves to some people blogs, and become oblivious to other blogs. So, people who spend their time writing the stories the best they could, will their effort go down the drain just because we don’t click on their blogs?

I’m not saying that people are not friendly. There are still plenty in MMOtales… But don’t you think it’s unfair when people do their best and nobody praises them or even give them comments?! I think if it’s me, I’ll feel rejected. So please, think about it.

Oh ya, if you don’t wanna flame mi, please click the “I like it” button so more people can see it. Than maybe more ppl will see it and understand. ty….

Small print (captain please don’t delete this T_T)

  1. I don’t actualy agree everything with you. I did try to write before. My first was rubbish, I didnt correct my spelling using words and the words i used were simple and my story was boring. I wrote a part two, realised I had no insipration and went to think again. I wrote again after much thought, but still it wasnt good enough.

Next i tried my best, but i managed up to five parts, phew. But still it didnt actualy work. But it was better. Finally, I decided that I wasnt much good at writing. My standrad was not great compared to people much older than. (Im 12 btw :P) So I stuck to just commenting, reading blogs and writing random blogs once in a while. I didnt die.

I was like around quite early, but didn’t comment as much as i did now. I was about the time when Mip wrote part3 of her story, yeah, i was around but not as kicking alive as i am now. And man, how the heck can it be unfair? it’s not. if you’re not good enough, face it. Either you try try again, or just give it up. How can it be other’s fault if you’re not good enough? Who agrees?

  2. We’re trying
Look around the site and you’ll see dozens of blogs like these, calling us to action.
All we can say is that We’re trying. You need to have faith

(As a side note, it’s not good to spoil anyone, new or old, either)

As for the quitting question. . .
Lately, people have been quitting because they are getting more and more unhappy with this site. Changes come and there’s nothing to do about them, so I wouldn’t worry too much.
Whoever decides to quit has made their decision and it wouldn’t be fair to blame them or try to stop them.

All we can do as the remaining members is to keep trying.

  3. Does it really matter? If all people care about are comments then go to freaking myspace. Not everyone finds an interest in reading a story and therefore find no reason to reply because they ARE trying to be nice by not giving you negative criticism. I personally don’t care to read a story about MapleStory, I’m not into fics, therefore I avoide most of the blogs around here.

It just sounds like people are fishing for replies, and when they don’t get them they drop everything. Not everyone can be center of attention.

  4. lets people quit

if people dont ike mmotales anymore than dont stop them

thats the reason the internet is so great

you dont hafta do things you dont want =)

  5. yea, i’ve written like 6 stories and i’ve gotten like 6 comments and 4 likes T_T know i ain’t writing cause i’m discouraged and wats the point?

  6. Let them quit; Don’t make a fuss about it.

    The main reason there was that one uproar last week about “mmotales sucks” was because of blogs like these -.-;

  7. I remember when I was writing a book, but quit cause no one payed attention to them, and I was one of the first people on MMOtales,

  8. I think writing should be for you’re own personal enjoyment. Alot of stories aren’t even commented on. But someof them even made front page. You just got to keep trying and see what you ddi that people liked. Also a little creativity for you’re title doesn’t hurt. A title is suppose to attract the reader’s attention. So I think whne writing series the title is the most important part of all. In the middle of the story you decide to change the title it spreads confusion. And also some of you’re old readers might not be able to find the story. Also long long long time ago someone posted a blog about better writing skills. I forgot link but someone should re-post that for the newcomers

  9. A good thing about staying in MMOTALES is that- we get to know other people here in mmotales and reading is good for you
However, going out in the real world is also a adventage, try to get out in the world and be active!

    Err, Waffle didn’t quit -_-

  11. I find that if you’re writing a fan fic for the attention, it’s not going to work. You can’t write for the attention; you have to write for the beauty of writing. I enjoy writing my story, and I’d continue it even I didn’t get any likes. I think people can tell when you’re just writing for the attention, and they’ll ignore you. I mean, I know I personally hate it when someone tries to get attention socially, and the same applies to MMOTales. If you go by having an interesting title, then my story shouldn’t have gotten many likes. Seriously, “The Boy was Lucky?” It doesn’t exactly shout “Read me!” Nonetheless, I got a ton of likes (18 in the first day I think) and a lot of positive comments. *shrugs*

well you can come back because im back

read my latest blog: “waffle. . .”

    im not gone =)

  13. well this site has too many un-friendly people (in the lightest of terms) im still on from time to time, but no time for blogging, or to finish my story sry

  14. I think, That people should remember that “If you wright, it shouldn’t be for *I likes, it should be for self enjoyment.” Also, people complane that “People are saying bad things about my book! I’M QUITING!” and the thing is, I LOVE IT when people complane about stuff in my books.
WHY? If I get something wrong, I want to know, I need to know *is it’s good or bad, so I can improve it and/or make the next chapter better!

Complantes are another key for makeing your book(s) better. When people Diss your book, then you can get mad, but don’t go makeing a HUGE blog about how *MMOTALES sucks because ONE GUY dissed your book.

I thank you if you read all that, and hopr you all have a great day, no matter what day you read this on!
