Let’s get going!

[The Curse of the Dragon]

Lydia

You shall never escape. No matter how far you run, we will get you. YOU SHALL SUFFER ETERNAL TORURE…

My eyes opened straight away and I felt myself being drenched in sweat. I panted as it was only a dream. This was the 3rd to 4th time I dreamt about this since I heard the voice.

“Dear, are you okay?” My “mother” asked.

Ever since I was “found” on the streets, this kind lady took me in with her… Erm.. 2 .. Boys. The lady insisted me to call her mother until she found out where I was from. I wish I could tell her what I was running away from, trying to never go back. Even if my mother was alive, she must be tortured really badly.

FlashBack

“Mum!!” I shouted in agony as another fearsome tounge of flame scorched my hand. I leapt back, yelping.

“Run while you can!! Even if I can’t survive, you must survive this!! AND BRING END TO THE CURSE!!”

FlashBack Ends

Tears rolled down my cheeks. My mother wanted me to bring end to this curse. I don’t know if I can do it. But I felt a little safer after I told my two “brothers” what the curse was.

Me

“That’s weird. This maple history book never says anything about the Curse. There’s the curse of the Diamond… But nothing else in the “D” Section…” I muttered angrily. We had been burning midnight oil for the past few days trying to find any new clues about the Curse. But to no avail. “Don’t tell me we’ve been on a wild goose chase…” Plaren grumbled as he flipped through Maple History book 2.

Suddenly, I caught a glimspe of a dark shadow moving outside the window. I immediately sprang into action and ran out of the house. Plaren tried to catch up with me, asking what was going on. I scanned the area carefully, looking for anybody mysterious. Except for a mewing cat, nothing else was heard. I scurried back to the warmth of the fireplace.

“What happened?” Asked Plaren.
“Someone was spying on us, and I don’t know who it is. But, whoever it is, I think it’s regarding the Curse, anyway, the book says th-” I said.

A piercing scream cut me short. It came from Lydia’s room! Plaren and I exchanged skeptical glances before dashing off to her room.

The first sight we saw was blood. Yes, fresh blood. I looked around desperately, trying to find out where Lydia is. At the sight of the room, there was definitely a struggle here. The window was wide open so the only way out was there. I jumped out of the window, and there was a fresh trail of blood.

“Blood. Only one thing. Follow it. It won’t be long before the snow covers it.. We have to hurry.”

To be continued…
