Darkness In Shadows (Prologue)

Another attempt at a WHOLE story. Yea, I hope this can make it to my mind. Heheh. I hardly complete any stories, and so like my friends. Hey, Flame, if you read this, you’re the person who post the least blogs >.>. What’s wrong? Can’t cope with the work? O_o. Anyway,

Darkness In Shadows Prologue

Shadows danced and flicked in every corner as a Assassin swiftly dashed pass the shadows, his Lopenze Dagger glinting in the moonlight. His face showed a smirk as he once again ran towards the shadows. A brown bamboo hat covered his face.
‘So… We have to destroy the Guild base of the Reborns…’
‘Yes. With them out of the picture, we can finnaly proceed with our plans.’
The Assassin muttered a curse. So they did want to kill the Reborns. His grip around his Lopenze Dagger tightened as he advanced forward slowly, sticking to the dark shadows.
‘We did some great work at the Darkness base. We killed everybody in the base.’
‘No. We must be careful. Be alert. We didn’t kill all of them.’
‘But-‘
The Assassin mumbled to himself. So it was them who killed his guild. What a terrifying sight it was, coming into the Guild base, just to find it ruined. Blood was splattered everywhere… He shook his head as he became light-headed. ‘I must avenge my friends… even if it means to sacrifice myself…’

With a mighty oath, he skimmed towards the three masked person, face contorted with anger. Shocked, the first member was killed with a mighty blow of the Lopenze Dagger. Blood smeared across the dagger as it seemed to gleam in delight as the blood splattered over it. His face disfigured by a vicious snarl, the Assassin parried a hammer blow from the second member as the third member bent over to get his weapon. ‘You’ve drawn your last breath.’ He said silently, but not regretfully as he jumped pass, slashing. The third member bent over, motionless.

Glancing around him, the Assassin noticed that the Leader was gone. ‘Darn! I’ve let him slip through my fingers!’ He swore, scanning the barren ground. He noticed the piece of paper on the table. Picking it up, he looked at the plan.

‘The Reborns…’ He muttered, slamming the paper down onto the table. It shook and broke into half. He glanced at it in disbelief.

‘You’re trapped, Broan. Give up.’ A voice said. “A trap!” I thought, looking around. ‘Of course! The hooded figures.. they were just scarecrows! No wonder they didn’t scream. The voice came from the walkie-talkies. What a fool I am. And to think I call myself a Bandit.’ the Assassin thought as he looked around. He was cornered.

‘Give it up. There’s no way you can win. And you know it too.’

‘I shall never give up. Even if I have to die in your hands, I would at least kill one of your,’ Broan muttered with disgust as he spat out the words. ‘Hooligans.’ That was the nicest way he could put it.

‘You have chosen your path. Now, you shall perish.’

Broan gripped his Lopenze dagger tightly as they slowly advanced towards him. Suddenly, a shriek broke the silence. A man fall onto the ground, an arrow portruding from his back. Amidst the confusion, Broan yelled a savage war cry before swinging his dagger madly at the two men. They managed a scream before falling like the rest. Another man fell, an arrow portruding from his chest. Broan caught a glance of a hooded ranger as another volley of arrows came straight at the men. Parrying a blow from a Doombringer, Broan jumped up and slashed down with all his force he could muster. A terrible ripping sound came from the skull as it seperated. Broan grimaced as he kicked aside the still moving corpse.

As the second last man fell, Broan muttered, ‘No, don’t kill him.’ The man’s breathing was heavy and forced. He knew that his life was being spared. Broan placed his dagger at his throat as the man flinched. The Ranger walked over, removing his hood. ‘Raon? I thought you were-‘ He gave my a grin.
‘I escaped, together with Yew too.’
‘Yew? Where’s-‘

At the mere mention of his name, the man laughed. ‘Hah. Your friend should be rotting by now.’ Raon gritted his teeth as he aimed an arrow at him. ‘Kill me than. Than I won’t tell you where your friend is.’ The man said, smiling a irritating smile. ‘I won’t hesitate to kill you. But if you refuse to tell me…’ I muttered, taking out a Tobi. ‘You would be target practice for me since I don’t have anybody volounteering.’ He kept his mouth shut. I shrugged, ‘Alright than. Since it would be that way…’

His eyes bulged out as I told Raon to tie him up and place him in the middle of the road. ‘Alright!’ He yelped.
‘Just don’t do that to me! Your friend is in a storage in Elinia. Get there quickly, before he…’ A devious grin appeared on his face. I swore, and place the man in the middle of the two broken table pieces, placing a Tobi on top. ‘Not a nice way of killing you, but that would have to do.’

‘But… you said..’
‘Never trust your enemies.’ I answered simply before taking out a Elinia return scroll and a bright light covered the area before Raon and I dissapeared. Before I dissapeared, I swore I heard the screaming of the man.

Revenge… Bloodthirsty Revenge…

~To be continued.

If I’m not mistaking, a Lopenze Dagger would be the big steely thing. The big steely dagger.
