Destiny

I sighed as I scanned Fusion Bar. There were happy couples strewn about, chatting, smiling. Oh, the nausea.

“One more drink, please,” I requested from the bar tender. He slid a drink my way, and I threw out my arm to catch it. My move was interrupted by another hand.

“Mind if I take this?” I turned around to face this drink-stealer. He was about a level 50, a sin. His eyes were aqua, and his messy hair was shoved into his pilfer.

“Go buy your own drink,” I flatly said, and smoothly guided the drink away from his grasp. I gulped it down, pretending to eye the people, but kept my gaze toward him.

He must have noticed, because he said, “Say, what’s your name?”

I rolled my eyes. Like picking up chicks was his everyday thing. “Lucy,” I said without thinking. Just some random name that popped into my head. Not that I’d ever see him again.

“Cool. I’m Kai.” He scratched the back of his neck, giving him something to do in the awkward silence. “Uh. . .”

“What?” I spat out. I didn’t care if I sounded rude. This guy was pissing me off.

“Don’t you feel it?” Kai stared into my eyes. My face heated up.

“Feel what? That creepy feeling that you’re coming onto me?”

He threw back his head and laughed. “No. I feel like we were meant to be.”

This guy was crazy. I slid on my circlet around my black hair and picked up my cromi. “Yeah, sure. Later, Romeo. I gotta run.” I had to get out of that place. I felt it too. Some strange feeling that was pulling me toward him. I fought it, and teleported toward the taxi.

I slid in without saying anything to the driver. “To Ellinia, please,” I calmly ordered, and smoothed out my calaf.

“Me too. Ellinia,” a voice in the seat beside me said. I stared in disbelief. “Get out of my taxi,” I told Kai.

He chuckled and pulled me close. “Don’t fight it. You know we were meant to be.” He was so close to me that I could smell him. It was a mix of mana pots and unagis. I struggled to pull away.

“I’d never fall in love with a person like you.”

“Oh really,” he distantly said, and retreated to his corner of the taxi.

The ride to Ellinia was long, and I felt bored. I stole a peek at Kai, who seemed to be drifting off to sleep. I leaned over to check if he was asleep. In one quick motion, he was over me, holding my face. “Hee hee, I knew you’d do that,” He smirked at his cleverness. I couldn’t pull away this time. His aroma captivated me.

In a single day, a simple-minded boy showed my stoic heart that destiny is alive in all of us. Perhaps one day you’ll find your own

  1. LOL. ‘This guy was crazy.’ I like that. 😀

Funny, I never thought mana pots could smell of anything.
And have you actually smelled unagi? It just makes me hungry, unagi. :X
