Sentimental Value vs. Practicality

So, way back in the long long ago, I started playing Maple, and I didn’t really know how to make a good character. Being the dumb@$$ I was back then, I totally misallocated my stats to the point where it would cost 75 bucks to fix them, not counting ‘k’ skills. (Mage by the way.)

Now I just keep him at level 30, pqing to all ends by dying and losing exp when I get up there, but in reality, this can only suffice for so long. I wanna actually use him as a Cleric, but he’s way too weak to be decent… we’re talkin’ like, 3 levels weaker than other level 30 mages, at least. I did make him the guild master when I got a guild, not having the time to make another character.

Of course, my other character (F/P Mage 36) is now way stronger than the Cleric. But, I see all of the awesome clerics floating around, and I get jealous that I messed up my stats really bad, to the point where I’m debating whether or not I should invest my funds into fixing him up, or working more in game. The latter would require building funds for a new guild, and then making a new cleric. The sentimental value is that he was my first character, the one I leveled at school by hacking the school’s net blocks, and config.

The real question is, do I really wanna be that loser that spends probably like 100 bucks on Nexon points to fix his character, or invest more of my time and energy to do the whole process over again?

Thoughts and comments are appreciated.

  1. So you really want a cleric, huh? Can’t just go on your F/P and forget about it?

If you have 100 bucks to spend, and you can spend it, and you want to, go ahead. Otherwise, make a new one.

  2. I’d suggest making the messed up cleric your mule and playing it sometimes and make a new cleric to use. You’ll keep the sentimental value of your first cleric and have a not messed up cleric.
Just a suggestion, though. Do what you think is right. The choice is yours.

  3. If the character is that sentimental, try to keep it as a storage like I did with my first character. If you can’t, then just restart him, and try to make him similar so it’s like he was reborn or something. It makes it seem like you didn’t ditch him, just, killed and ressurected.
