Well where shall I start? RF Online or my MMO?

*flips coin*

danmit…i lost my funny…not that i had it to begin with >.

Yeah…this blog won’t be funny…lemme tell you that >.

Well…it all started when my friend asked me to play RF Online with him. At the time I was playing FlyFF on the Aibatt server which was pretty fun. In fact, I met Morgan Webb from X-Play on that game! Well not really…it was just a person posing as her and who ripped me off for my Forfroms. I sold 7 for 60k. I thought it was a good deal. I’m such a noob. My friend (darxler from Paper Hell RP), told me that they are worth 70k each.

Yay! I got ripped off!

A day later, my other friend burned me a copy of RF Online on a private server. Now I play link

RF Online is actually pretty fun. For those who don’t know about it, it takes place in a futuristic setting with 3 warring races. You have to choose from one of three:

~Accretians: an Android-like race
~Bellato: A technologically advanced race who can use mechs at a later level
~Cora: A tall elven type race that is mostly proficient in magic.

I made myself an Accretian warrior and a Cora spiritualist (mage).

So how would I rate RF Online? Well, its pretty fun in my opinion. The graphics are very nice. Its pretty easy to level on normal EXP.

Finally…what I actually wanted to talk about. Our MMO Project.

Now what I wanted to talk about was when people would say “Bah! What can a bunch of 18 year olds make?!”…Yes…I know that there is a lot of you over here who believe this is an unachievable task. I say nay! (as always!). Making an MMORPG is not as hard as you think…I mean…all you need is a system of how things will work. And remember…its an MMORPG, it won’t have a storyline with all these cut scenes and CG animation…even though I have an idea for another game that we may make after Project Genesis is completed.

Also, some people may think that even though it is completed it will look like shiznits. I mean, people have seen games made by regular people and sometimes they aren’t the best…like Runescape. However, why do some games look like complete garbage? Simple! Because they suck at art…(hate to be blunt once again).

Anyway, we are also learning while we are making our game. Mostly learning about 3d Animation. However I believe were doing pretty well.

In my opinion, were progressing really well. All we need now is to learn how to lock Meshes into Skeletons and how to texture meshes…once we got that, were set!

We can’t disclose a lot of our information on Battle Systems, Inventory Systems, Skill systems, Job systems, quest systems, and what events we have planned yet. You’ll find all that out during beta testing! ^^;

However, there are a few things we can disclose now.

We have 3 main continents. Each with their own thing.

Lacérza (the c is pronounced as an s)
Lacérza is a military powered continent. It isn’t full of idiots who bash their swords around, they only use it to protect themselves from imminent threats.

Ulteria
Ulteria is a technologically advanced continent. Not futuristic really…but think sorta like Atlantis mixed with 1800s.

Veneficus
For those who read or RPed in Paper Hell, need I say more? Its a spiritually advanced continent.

These three continents aren’t all like “cool WAR LOLOL”. There’s a reason behind their existence and why they co-exist.
