I quit Maplestory

It’s official. Last night I gave away all of my money to my guild and my best equips, and everything else was randomly dropped in the free market. All of my main characters are item-less so I won’t ever be able to come back one day if I change my mind. Otherwise, I would probably start playing again one day.

I’m sure you’re wondering why.

Oh you don’t care…

Well I’m going to tell you anyway.

I quit mostly because I was just bored of Maplestory. I don’t really have a lot of time to play video games during the week, and in the little time that I do have to myself I would want to spend elsewhere. Particularly, WoW and my Xbox 360.

I downloaded the 10 day free trial of WoW off the website and I like it. So I’m planning on getting a subscription which is a lot ($15 a month) but if I ever decide I don’t like it I will only have to pay for the rest of that month.

Anyway, in addition to me being tired of grinding for a year so I can get new skills to grind with, I don’t like Nexon and their lackluster service. There are never any events other then major holidays. The x2 experience and drops were nice but it was just a time for hackers to level up faster, and me to lag.

The hacking situation wasn’t really my biggest reason for leaving, but they are annoying. There are hackers everywhere and it is hard sometimes to find a channel where there isn’t a hacker on your training map. I remember when my Cleric was training on Jr Wraiths. Every channel has an off screen hacker, or a spawn that is messed up because of them.

So I just decided to quit. It was fun playing Maplestory for the last year, but now I just want to move on and play some different video games. Going outside is for quitters.

I’m still going to stay on this website because this is the best online community that I have ever belonged (or is it belunged?) to. I still have those ideas I keep telling myself about and I will write them down as soon as I stop procrastinating ><

    i dont plan on quitting anytime soon though so i’ll worry about it when the time comes

    but aliyah will be sure to get a big slice =)

  2. At least you got to give away all your crap. I was hacked out of my millions (27 M worth of mesos and items to be exact, at that time, equivalent to over 100M now).

  3. Bye! I hope your W o W experiance is more pleaseing too you!
    Just remember not un-intall it from your computer, for a year of two, when you ‘Might’ want to see MS for a few seconds and have memeries flashing back, the game might Patch! And there could be some cool new stuff! ^_^ Never forget!

    You should Play FlyFF. I like it. Easy leveling, money is relative and not quite needed, and the community is literate.
    And you can Phlii.

  5. You could try out Knight Online. O_O Its a pretty fun game. Not too bad of a grind, and free! pretty damn good graphics as well. >_>

    Yeah! Now that you said that, I want to play even more now! ^_^
    In about a week, that is if ‘you’ want to, look for: Leifgreen0 and/or Leifgreen.
    I have it downloaded to my mother’s friends’s computer, but I only haft to get there, and transfer it to a CD now.
    I SO Can’t wait! Though, I’m not giveing up MapelStory!
    It depends on what mood I’m in! ^_^

  9. If I ever quit, I’m going to chill around vic for a while and give out my stuff to people who I think need it.

    But that won’t be for a long, long time.

    Hackers = un-secksi.

  10. It’s true, 2x exp is a time for hackers to level up faster and for you (and me) to lag. TT
    I so agree, Well, maple to me, i won’t just quit because of some stupid hackers. I mean, i see them everytime while walking to Wraiths. TT They’re so annoying, it’s also annoying how you can only report one user a day. TT when i saw like 2 hackers in the SAME MAP. roar

    But to me, maplestory is a place where i can relax, i love all my friends there, especially my brother. X3.
    Ah well, hope to see you around, and have fun wiff you new game.
