The sunrise is always as beautiful as the sunset. I sat on my windowsill all snuggled up in my blankets watching the sky change. From dark blue to orange and red. Then the light blue that signals another morning started. Birds chirped and the streets bustled below. I looked out over the hills wondering what lies beyond them. Since the moment I was brought here I wondered. The smell of waffles brought my attention back to earth. I set to work getting ready for a new day. In the middle of getting dressed I heard the creaking of my window. I spun around coming face to face with Cory. Well more of…my face to his chest.

“Cory! What are you doing here! Can’t you see I’m indecent…” I shouted.

“Ah hush up. It nothing I haven’t seen before Dani.” He smirked moving to wake up Jeanette. He loved to annoy her. Poor girl. I finished dressing as fast as I could and watched as Cory positioned himself standing above her. He bent over moving his lips close to her ear and…

“JEANETTE!!!! WAKEY, WAKEY!” I laughed as she nearly jumped from her skin. Like I said before…poor girl.

“Cory you jerk!” She moaned throwing a pillow at his head.

All three of us raced down the stairs for breakfast. I’m still not sure why Cory always showed up at our house for breakfast. He claims Kaz is the best cook he’s ever met but I sometimes think otherwise. Not too long after the food was served and finished Matt came knocking at the door read for school. The last day as a matter of fact. I was excited yet sad at the same time. After today, tonight we all go for our job advancements. I wondered if the mystery girl would be there tonight.

“So guys. Excited about tonight?” Cory said grinning. He attacked the air using Savage Blow. This time not tearing his shirt and or falling on his back.

“Meh, It’s no biggie. I’m slightly nervous though.” Matt claimed examining his beloved Evil Wings. Jeanette still half asleep nodded her head in agreement. Not know what the hell is going on. I giggled a little at this but stopped after getting some weird looks from the guys.

“What about you Dani?”

“Eh…I’m not too sure. I feel sort of numbed out right now and could you please not point your dagger at me.” Cory huffed walking ahead of us.

“Hey Dani! Look it’s the ‘mystery’ girl.” Matt smirked nudging me. I could feel my cheeks burning up as we approached her. She looked…lost. “Hey there. In need of assistance?”

“Well…err. Yes actually.” She looked up from her directions to look at us both. Jeanette wondered up ahead with Cory leaving me and Matt alone with the mystery girl. The first feature I noticed was her height. She was shorter than me…cute.

“Where you headed?” Matt asked trying to peak at the piece of paper in her hands. She looked so confused it caused me to giggle inside.

“Well…I need to get to Wood Brook. Do you know where that is?” She glanced up looking at me. Eye to eye. She had the palest green eye’s I’ve ever seen.

“Actually we’re headed there right now. Going for your advancement?” She nodded in response. “What job are you? If I may ask” She removed her coat revealing her Dark Scarab and Steely throwing stars. An assassin. Great.

“Well we better hurry up if we want to make the introduction speeches.” I said running ahead to catch up with Jeanette and Cory.

“Your friend…she’s… weird?” The new girl flashed a shy smile.

“Yeah she is. By the way I never caught your name?”

“It’s Chinoshi.”
