LOVE CONFESSIONS OF A DRAGON KNIGHT PART 10

“Hey, you ready to start the fight?” Sumesh’s voice rang from the battlegrounds.

Then I remembered my wound had not fully healed yet. “Um, could you go light on me please, my wound…”

Sumesh smiled and chanted an incantation. At once, the wound patched itself up and I felt normal once again. “This battle will be a 2 on 1 match. It’s you and your girl against me.”

“I can handle you alone!” I protested.

“You can’t.”

“Fine, we’ll see about that.”

I asked Samantha to stand at the side of the court. “This is between me and him.”

“Haha, fine, you can fight against me 1 on 1 then. But let me warn you, you WILL NOT win for sure. Miss, you can help your boyfriend anytime you want. But for now, this battle begins in 3…2…1…START!”

I immediately used spear booster and swung my spear at Sumesh with great speed. He laughed again and hasted himself, easily dodging all of my attacks. “You fool, I’d like to see you even touch me.”

I needed to approach him with a different tactic. But what could work? I observed the terrain of the battleground. It was rocky and lava spouted beneath the platform. Just then I thought of a brilliant idea. I used my spear to hit the ground and created a fissure. Then, I channeled it toward Sumesh.

“Nice try, but that will not work.” Sumesh jumped over the pool of lava towards me and used his claw to stab me. I quickly blessed myself with iron body and the attack ended up useless. I immediately took the chance of his closeness to me and slugged him in the stomach.

Sumesh stepped back and winced in pain but it was not enough to make him falter. “Enough playing. I am going to get serious.” He used claw booster and before I came to my senses, an array of hwabis were chucked at me. My iron body deflected a lot of them but I was badly scratched. All my exposed skin had lines of blood on them and my armour was badly torn.

He then gathered up energy in his hand. I recognised it as his avenger attack. I was in deep trouble. Since I could not defend myself from it, I would have to dodge it.

FWAAM! The avenger sped through the air, straight at me. I tried to jump away from it. Too late, I would not make it…SWIISH! The avenger sliced past me by an inch. I felt the wind blowing along with it and tilted my head back. That was really close.

Sumesh grunted. He had already expected to win. “Now it’s my turn!” I ran towards him with my spear and tried to stab him. He dodged it. Again! I ran, charging and shouting at the same time. Miss! Again! Parry! Shoot he was way too fast.

Sumesh stopped and laughed at me. His combined technique of haste and flash jump was deadly. I wasn’t going to win the fight like that…

Mean while, Samantha sat by the side. “Sigh, Bryan isn’t going to win like that. But I can’t attack Sumesh either, he’ll scold me. How can I help him but at the same time not attack Sumesh…” She got a brainwave.

Back at the battlefield, I was still losing to Sumesh. Having used up almost all my energy, I almost fainted. Suddenly, I heard Sumesh shouting in anger. Samantha had used seal on him! He was now trapped and immobile.

This was my golden chance! Rushing towards him, I raised my spear and prepared a power strike…SWOOOSH! The spear cut through him. But something did not feel right.

I turned my head and saw him standing by the side, laughing. He had used shadow partner just before my attack and I had cut the shadow partner instead. “And you thought it was so easy!” Sumesh chimed.

“Please let me help.” Samantha asked me from the side. “Ok.” Maybe I needed her help after all. Samantha smiled, then took her stand on the battlegrounds.

“Well, you finally admit you need help.” Sumesh smirked. “It doesn’t matter anyway, you can’t beat me.

“I have an idea.” Samantha whispered to me. She told me all the details and I agreed. This plan sounded very alike to the one I had used to eliminate the papulatus clock. Samantha got to work first.

She struck Sumesh with ice strike but it was pretty obvious Sumesh dodged it. “Ha! You thought you could…” I whacked Sumesh halfway in his speech. Samantha used ice strike again and pinned him onto the ground. Not surprisingly, the ice melted and Sumesh freed himself.

Sumesh cast spider web on me angrily. Darn it that was not what I had expected him to do! I had only one chance now…Samantha looked at me hopefully. I stared into her eyes. You can do it! You can do it! I told myself that I would not fail this one chance.

Samantha raised her hand. A thunder spear appeared in her hand and lunged it at Sumesh, who was beside me. He easily dodged it. Now was my chance! I grabbed the thunder spear and thrust it of Sumesh. I DID IT! I DID IT!

The electric shock slammed Sumesh onto the ground and he was paralysed badly. “Now to finish this battle!” I yelled. I ran at him and prepared a power strike. The spear flew at him but Sumesh used the easiest possible way out- darksight.

“Haha! That was a fine match! I concede defeat! You win!” Sumesh told us. I was overjoyed. Now I could get my powers back…

I walked over to Samantha and kissed her on her lips. She paused for a while, and then started kissing me as well. It wasn’t light kissing, think more of French style.

But our celebration was short lived. Suddenly, Sumesh’s eyes glowed and he levitated into the air. In a booming voice he spoke, “Muahaha! Looks like you are a worthy challenger! I am not a new face to you. Surely you recognise me as…the summoning king!”

I was shocked. I always recognised him as a friend…

“I will give you your powers back Bryan, but this is not the last time you will meet me!” In an instance he released a spirit and it flew into me. At once, I felt a familiar sense of my dragon powers returning to me.

Sumesh then floated over to me. “My master wants to meet you some time soon. I am sure you will love meeting him as well! Both of you have met each other before.”

A portal appeared above him and he disappeared into it.

“Come on dear, let’s not waste our time with this moron.”

We were about to leave, but then an arm resembling Zakum’s stretched out of the portal. In a swift action it grabbed Samantha and carried her into the portal. I was infuriated and used dragon buster on the hand. Too late- the portal had disappeared.

So his master was Zakum! I did not know what to do. But I did not only occur losses. Suddenly, my worn out commodore armour was replaced by the one in my dreams. My omega spear disappeared and in turn was replaced by a fairfrozen. My armour was exactly identical to the one in my dream. But there was going to be a difference, I would not let the outcome in my dream .happen

I stood rooted to the ground for a long time. Zakum had taken away the love of my life so that I had no way out and my decision was final. I would go back to El Nath for the last time and fight Zakum till the end. The result would be the extinction of either me or Zakum. There were no other exceptions.
