The Eye of Death

Chapter: Three

I stepped back, “Who are you?” I commanded. She brandished a blade, a blade I’ve only heard of before. It was a True Fire Sword. I grabbed the handle of my Cutlas and pulled it out of it’s scabbard.

We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. She finally threw herself at me, I dodged to the side and stabbed. She was behind me already! I quickly spun around and caught her blade. She did a turn with her wrist and my Cutlas went flying, it stuck into the ground.

Her True Fire Sword swiped under my legs, I jumped up and punched her. She staggered back as I landed. She had a bloody nose. She looked at with me with brown straight hair covering her one eye. The eye you could see was a dark blue. She wore Green Lucida that looked more cloth than mail.

I quickly ran to my Cutlas and tugged on the handle. It wouldn’t come out! I pulled harder but it still stuck in. I turned to see the girl steadily walking towards me, her eyes were purple. She was casting a spell on my sword. I quickly pulled my bow off my back and knocked an arrow.

I closed my eyes and felt energy seep into them. I let go, using Hurricane, a spell I learnt under our Master Ranger when he was alive. I opened my eyes to see nearly ten arrows stuck in her armor. How did she do that! She was still walking towards me. My strafe is stronger than my Hurricane I remembered.

I shot a strafe, the four arrow’s hit their mark. She staggered back, fourteen arrow’s in her armor. Her eyes turned dark blue again and my Cutlas came flying back to my hand. I walked up to her, she collapsed to the ground. I sheathed my Cutlas and picked her up by her legs and head.

I carried her to my carriage and laid her in it. I closed the door and turned around, I suddenly remembered that the hermit’s were attacking. I pulled my Cutlas from my scabbard, my scabbard snapped and fell to the ground. I ran to the front to see bodies everywhere. Guard’s, hermits and chief bandits, all thrown onto the ground like dolls.

Swords were stuck in hermit’s chests and holes in guards. I could see arrow’s penetrating flesh. King Shaclobe! The king was missing. Flare was standing behind a tree, whimpering. I ran over to her and hugged her. “We’ll get them back, don’t worry” I easily calmed her down. I saddled her and jumped on.

“C’mon, Flare-up” and we were off.
