A seemingly normal life Prologue/intro

AUTHOR’S NOTES: I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED IT WHEN I TRIED TO EDIT IT!!!! MMO, PLEASE HAVE A CONFIRMATION POP UP INTERGRATED INTO THE BLOGGING SYSTEM!!!! THANKS VERY MUCH!!!! NOW I HAVE TO START AGAIN! Fortunately, I can remember 90% of it.

‘The world of Maple Story was created more than a decade ago.

The half decade war between the corrupt GMs and the Hackers has finally ended.

The GMs finally mended their ways and the Hackers were but a fleeting dream.

THE END.’

I could only stare and let my jaw drop upon reading this piece of crap.
——————–

As to how Uzaki and I got dragged into this activity was the very action of joining the guild,’THELASTHACKERS’ in the first place. Owned by Reena, and she was obviously the only one who enjoys being in the guild.

Since ‘we were the only survivors of the wiping of the Hackers’, we were asked to ‘summarise everything that happened during the war’.

As if I’d know! Those Maple reporters are crazy. I mean, why should I even bother memorising everything that happened? And why should we provide with a summary for the History books??! All I know is that the war ended when the GMs and Hackers lost all their powers and died. But for us three, we merely lost our powers, but we didn’t die.

Just an hour ago, Uzaki and I were put into Reena’s cottage in Henesys, and /ordered/ to write up the summary in such short a time. Without heeding our please and insults Reena claimed that she had something to do and bolted out of the house. /Reena’s/ the one who cares about this ‘project’, or so she calls it. I don’t care, and I’m willing to bet that Uzaki didn’t care either. Picking up our pens, we started writing…

And came up with the manuscript I dubbed a piece of crap.

It was so bad that I could vomit. Uzaki didn’t mind, apparently. He took back the piece of paper upon seeing my act of fake vomitting, frowning, lunging at me, grabbing my collar. “How could you say that?! I tried my best, ok?!” Uzaki yelled in my face. That was when——-

The door slammed open, and between its frames stood a moderately tall girl, a red pilfer shabbily sitting on her head, a broad smile upon her face. Peaceful times has just ended. Scantily clad in a pink, but heavily scrolled sauna robe, I saw what she meant by ‘work’; a polished avarice dangling between her belt. Her old avarice was apparently sold. The same mouth that exuded the lively aura around her opened, and out came the words,”What are you all doing?! If the summary is not satisfactory, woe unto you! You’ll have to give me 5000 push ups and a set of kumbi each!!”

I’ll do the push ups, but I’ll pass on the kumbis. they’re worth a whopping 500,000 mesos, and definitely not worth buying for a mere act of laziness. Then again, we were made to finish it in only an hour, so laziness wouldn’t sum up the various reasons why our work is definitely not satisfactory. This work theoretically belongs to the only girl who can mete out hoards of assignments for us and not bat those vivacious yellow eyes at our insults.

“Fine, as an act of a merciful and awesome leader, I’ll give you all another hour to finish up! If it’s not decent by then, you’ll all buy me tobis! Tobis!!” Reena yelled when bargained at by Uzaki.

‘Merciful’ and ‘awesome’ totally contradicts your qualities, Reena!!! And Tobis?! In your dreams!!

The next 45 minutes were spent arguing, complaining, and the pretence of brainstorming. Reena was taking ‘a walk outside’. Oh, great. I almost expect more work. For the last 15 minutes, Uzaki and I were slightly panicked. Reena dished out the most damage among the three of us. She had the highest level among us. And when she wants something, she always gets it. She even obtained her Hwabi by forcing it out of a person who killed the mushmom, un-rightfully getting that star as a drop. If she could force Hwabis out of a total stranger, forcing tobis out of us would be a piece of cake.

When Reena finally came back, this time, in a less dramatic fashion, we managed only a line I would consider stupid and lame.

“And the people of MapleSEA lived happily ever after. ‘And the people of MapleSEA lived happily ever after’??!! What are you people doing??!!” Reena yelled, but she would have noticed that we were gone. We slipped away while she was reading our ‘work’.

My Zard was treated like a tree cutting tool. Reena’s going to be so mad when she meets us again. Uzaki, a level 45 Cleric followed close behind me as we took the forest-like shortcut to Kerning City. The first of many rundown buildings marked the start of the old Hackers’ hideout. Good, I’m sure that we lost Reena. Panting and wheezing, Uzaki and I collapsed against the wall, the Zard driven at least 10 inches into the cement.Uzaki’s Arc staff was soiled, and he proceeded to cleaning it with his robe. I tilted my head vertically against the sky.

Clouded by smoke, and cut across by various buildings on the verge of collapse. The sky seemed like a pice of maroon cloth that had ashes sprinkled on it. The aftermath of the war caused such damage to the once sleek, proud, and elegant skyscrapers, which in turn polluted the once pure sky.

Graffitti ran across the walls of the old building, implying the former presence of the Hackers’ army. Emotions were poured into it without restraint; a delicate piece of art, stained by blood in various places.

Although the war was damaging, it bonded a small band of people who stood up against the corrupt GMs. It brought thrill, laughter, hope, and sadness. I dare say that I missed such times.

Peaceful times were indeed over.

Uzaki seemingly responded to that thought by giving a short outburst of alarm, then proceeded to push me away from my current position. A dull thud followed the action, and I was stunned, eyes wide open in surprisde. Uzaki looked to the location behind him, and I peered over his shoulder.

I stifled a cry of alarm after that.
