Deafening Screams: Chapter 2

Chapter 2: The New People

Orbis, Ossyria
4:32:09 AM
Billy Thorne sat atop the inn where Alexei, Rose and Jake were resting. He always came to this point early in the morning to see the sunrise. He was not but a young boy who is 15 years of age. The feather on his Red Hunter was blown away by a gust of wind. His evil eyes looked sympathetically at the rising sun. A young boy holding a Dark Arund came out of the inn and went to the Lucida territory. Billy continued to gaze at the sunrise until it was 6 AM which then he left.

Alexei shot one last Arrow Rain at the horde of Lucidas, finishing them off. His head was soaked with beads of sweat and his shoes were heavy with water but all of that didn’t matter. He changed into his Dark Ades Overall, Dark Brace and Dark Ades Shoes. He picked up the meso that all the Lucidas dropped and headed back to the inn. During this time, Orbis was packed full of fairies making it difficult to get through town. It took a while until he reached the inn, where he found Rose and Jake still sleeping. He decided to drop by later so he walked around town until he stumbled upon a tavern. He went inside finding it packed with races of all kind. He took a seat next to a person with a mysterious look but didn’t notice.

“One Vodka please,” Alexei ordered.

In a mere 4 seconds, a vodka came flying right at him, which he caught in his hand and started to drink. The man next to Alexei turned to him and drew a Varkit and aimed for him. Alexei saw this coming and dropped his cup instantly and did a somersault. He drew his Bow and aimed a Soul Arrow at the man. By that time the tavern was nearly empty and the two fighters were at a stareoff, each waiting for the other to move. The mystery man made the first move and charged at Alexei with a Boomerang Step.

A Shadower?! I thought those were myths!, Alexei’s thought went through his head as he sidestepped and avoided the attack.

“Well apparently you thought wrong,” the man said as he charged at Alexei at once more.

He charged a Soul Arrow and held it there for it stopped the Shadower in his tracks.

“In there! Two people are wrecking my bar!” bellowed a loud voice that came from out the door.

“All right break it u-,” said a Orbis Police Officer and froze when he saw them.

“You lucked out kid,” the Shadower said as he retreated to a safe distance and put his weapon down.

Alexei let go of the Soul Arrow and it dispersed, “What trickery is this?”

“You are unique. Your skills are exceptional for a young Ranger like you. It’s been only one week since you’ve become a Ranger correct?” he asked.

“Who are you? How do you know this? What do you want? Why did you attack me?” Alexei’s voice echoed through the tavern.

“You will see in due time. My name is Rey. Do not forget me, as we shall meet again.” The Shadower disappeared in a puff of smoke and Alexei strapped his bow behind his back. He walked out the tavern and went back to the inn.

He found Rose drinking a cup of hot coffee. Rose had waken up for almost half an hour now.

“Good morning Rose.”

“Oh, good morning,” Rose greeted, startled by his appearence.

“Where’s Jake?”

“Still sleeping. He’s been like that for the past half-hour.”

“Tell me about it. I’m kinda nevous that I’m gonna become a Ranger soon.”

A man pulled the door open off its hinges. His Cabbie hat fell on the floor as he sheathed his Custom Maple Dagger. His Military Cargo Jacket blew into the air as he picked up his hat. His green eyes stared at everyone as his green Metro hair stood out. As he walked in, his Camping Boots thumped the floor loudly like a giant. Hordes of whispers were going on throughout the entire lobby as he walked past.

“I heard that he’s a freak that was abandoned by his family,” whispered a mage at the next table.

“I heard that he got exiled from Perion and went to Kerning,” whispered another person next to the mage.

“Attack!” yelled a warrior as he picked up his Zard and his gang of Fighters charged at the boy. He saw this and drew his Dagger. The leader, holding a Zard trew himself forward, Zard aimed straight at the chest of the boy. He quickly ducked and threw his dagger, peircing the armor of 4 of the members and the leader and killing them. The last member saw his chance and charged at him. The boy had not seen this coming unfortunately since he thought that the others would fall back after the snake’s head had fallen and braced for impact that never came. Alexei had used his Dark Arund and used it to knock the last member back out the front door. He scrambled away immediately. Alexei picked up the dagger and threw it back to the boy.

“. . . Thank you Mister. . . .,” the boy said.

“No problem. They shouldn’t have picked on you,” he said.

“. . . . . . . My name’s Josh, you can call me Leaf. . . .,” the boy said.

“What’s the dilly-dally?” Jake mumbled sleepily.

Rose had bought a hot cup of coffee and placed it next to her for this occasion. She picked up the coffee and poured it at Jake’s face, “Wake up sleepyhead, it’s almost noon.”

Jake was resisiting the urge not to scream until he gave in, “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HHHHHH!”

Alexei fell on the floor laughing uncontrollably and pointing as Jake kept running around in circles. The entire inn was laughing at his silly antics and everything calmed down about 2 hours later, when the burning pain stopped and his face was so red that it looked like his entire face was blushing.

They left the inn with Josh, who was also conveniently going to Victoria Island.

“What was that for?!” Jake exclaimed as he touched his face.

“I bought that two hours ago! It shoudn’t have been that hot so I guess that’s why they call it the famous ‘Lava Cup’ at the inn,” Rose explained.

“Okay break it up you two. . .,” Alexei said as he snickered when he saw Jake’s face.

They bought each of their tickets and the group of four travelers boarded the boat to Ellinia, Victoria Island.

  1. *dance* I’m there! I’m there! Sweet, so I can read minds, why would I tell them my name? Bit odd eh? Like some guys trying to kill u in a bar and he’s like: “My name is ____, remember that, for I will find you again!” then he disapears. Kinda weird >.< I love it btw
