The Almighty SILVAAR!

Today, today… what shall I say about today?

I think it was the best Maple day so far, ever since the death of my guild. ^^ It consists of hilarity, celebratory suicides, good old friends, running amok in Orbis and insanity. And of course, the Almighty Silver.

Totally ignoring the fact that the exams aren’t actually over, I decided to go on a Mapling spree early this morning. Actually, I didn’t plan to play for very long. 😀 It started out when I logged into SilverFx, the sexehiest Huntress ever (and obviously, she belongs to ME!); I looked at my experience bar and went, ‘Hey, 90.88%! Let’s just get this girl up to lvl 63, then we can go and revise Econs.’ read more

Leveling Up, Sadists, Cells and a Clone

So I was innocently wandering through Maple, thinking to relax after the crappy paper this morning (Oh yeah, my Major MAJOR exams just started and boy did it start off bad. But that isn’t MMO related, so back to the topic). It was a normal day. I started with Gemina, smashed some Jr Sentinels to happy bits, and finally levelling her up to 26 with one last Huckle quest, which happened to be her eleventh level-up from Huckling. ^^ Guess how many Tower Scrolls she has in her inventory. read more

Your Fan

‘It’s a fan.’ She reached out to touch the long, rectangular object nestled in the long, rectangular box. Her black eyes were full of puzzlement, as they darted upwards to look at the man who had presented it to her.

‘Yes,’ he said simply. He did not smile. He never did, not in all the months she knew him; to do so just wasn’t him. He held the narrow box now in two hands, the box’s lid dangling by its edge from the hooked index finger on his right hand. ‘It’s for you.’ read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Forty-eight

¤ Happiness

A girl in green Apprentice robes laughed wildly as she dashed down the corridor, her silver curls flying behind her as she ran. She could hear footsteps behind her, falling at a casual, comfortable rhythm as if her pursuer simply considered the chase a mere jog. Breathless, the girl rounded the next corner and ducked behind it, flattening herself against the wall. read more

¤ Too Many ‘Likes’

After they finished reading the pages that Solomon sent them, Silver, Jaysen and Rei left the mess hall together for the lift pod lobby. The huntress was much more sociable now, the coffee and the progress of her Project having a positively buoyant effect on her mood.

‘It’s easy to figure out how it all goes next, right?’ She shuffled through the pages in her hand again, juggling them together with her journal and the other scrolls from the shelves. ‘You know who gets the position and goes back to take revenge on Verchiel or something.’ read more

My Two Mesos on This

What hurts more than someone coming out of nowhere and, with a few clicks, sending your work into oblivion?

Not much. Except maybe if that person physically stabs you with a dagger. I know, because I have lost stuff that I worked hard on before.

I thought the vandal incident was bad enough. devilrymage, tarheel, Cor and a good bunch of other writers got their fanfics erased just like that. Even my own blogs were defaced; good thing that bitter past experiences made me keep backups. read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Forty-six

¤ Ill Timing

”I had feared that regaining her memory would change Aurora beyond recognition; indeed, during our conversation in the warriors’ training grounds, she seemed like a total stranger. However, a few days later, Aurora was back to her cheerful and optimistic self, and I remember thanking the heavens that she had not lost her irrepressible nature. I was too young and too naive then to realise that it was merely an act that she had put up for the benefit of her friends.” read more

¤ Single Digit Hours of Morn

‘Just as I thought.’ Rei’s voice woke Silver up. Opening bleary eyes, she saw Rei standing next to her table together with Jaysen, a slightly amused expression on his face.

‘The lady slept the entire night here?’ Jaysen said, amazed.

Silver sat upright slowly, massaging the crick in her neck. ‘Seems like it,’ she croaked, the sour taste in her mouth making her gag. ‘What time is it now?’ read more

Mending Wounds (5) – The Healing

† The Healing

Three years was a long time. She said as much to Alaric.

‘Why would you mind if it is?’ Alaric replied, stroking Nenya’s dainty head absentmindedly.

‘I have not been back to Henesys for three years.’

Alaric’s gaze was sharp as he looked at her, her wistful tone making his eyebrow rise. ‘No, you haven’t.’

‘And you have taught me all you can.’ She looked down at her empty hands. They had the same calluses as AlaricÂ’s, rough patches of dead skin across the flesh where fingers met palm. The friction of the pestle against bare skin had worn them there, from the times she had used it to grind herbs during three years of potion making lessons. read more

Mending Wounds (4) – The Infection

† The Infection

‘I think I am ready,’ she told Alaric.

The man looked at her over the top of the ancient scroll he was reading. Nenya’s tiny head poked over the top of the scroll too. ‘But are you?’

‘What do you mean? I said I was ready. I have mastered healing. Even you said you have never seen anyone progress so quickly.’ It was true that she had worked hard to master the skill of Healing. In actual fact, it was not much more magical than healing the natural way was: the cleric only acted as a guide for the healing by providing his or her patient’s body with a blueprint of health and well-being, then fuelled the accelerated healing process with mana. read more
