Aurora’s Redemption – Ten

¤ Warrior

The next morning, Aurora was uncommonly fast in her morning preparations. Shortly after bolting down her breakfast, she dashed out of the cottage’s door and onto the streets. Because of the Selections, the village was bustling with activity as merchants hawked their wares to the many travellers that the Selections had attracted.

Salmer, holding a half-eaten piece of toast in his hand, chased after Aurora. ‘Hey, what is the rush?’ read more

¤ My Fair Flower of Beauty!

By the time they finished delivering the fishes, it was already evening.

The trio dropped by the Potions shop, where they were persuaded by the fairy alchemist Edel to purchase some bottles of potions. ‘You’ll need them one day, and besides, they do not break easily!’ She had pushed them into Ida’s unwilling hands, telling them over a growing hubbub outside the Potions shop. (Silver thought she heard some muffled shouts of ‘Let’s just take this out in the Potion Shop!’ before they were kindly showed the exit through the back door.) read more

It’s Friday! (aka Full Servers ramble)

Yep. It’s the weekends, and if I pretend that that pile of homework there will just automatically disappear, it will be fun.

*pretends*
*pile of homework still stands, quivering a little as it prepares to avalanche*

Never mind it.

I feel like mapling now, but since it’s Friday, the Aquila server is going to be positively flooded with everyone that has returned home from school. :/ Nowadays, going into the server in the evening and in the weekends is like trying to lead a PQ. You click and click and click for one whole minute and you still can’t get in. read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Eight

¤ Starting from One

As they climbed up the first storey of the tower, Silver found herself explaining her Project once again. Ida looked very interested. ‘So how far have you got on the Project? I have never heard anything about this statue too.’

‘We are going along quite nicely. Ever since someone in El Nath passed us this journal that his grandfather wrote, we have gotten quite a lot of information. I haven’t read the journal to the end though, so there’s a lot that we still don’t know,’ said Silver. ‘One thing would be why we cannot speak the girl’s name.’ read more

¤ When Our Eyes Meet

‘I want to take a look!’ Aurora hopped a little on the spot. ‘I have never seen a fairy.’

Salmer exchanged a look with Eriksen, who shrugged. Why not?

Pushing through the crowd, Salmer cleared the way to the front of the crowd for the petite girl. Aurora stood eagerly before the dirt path, peering ever so often down the path to try and spot the fairies. read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Six

¤ Unnatural

It was spring. A slender figure stood beneath the flower-laden tree, trying her best to reach upwards to the lowest branches.

‘Brother Salmer! Could you help me get that flower there?’ The girl gave up on her futile attempts. She sat down in a huff, glaring at the tree as if it owed her something.

Salmer laughed as he stretched to his full height and easily plucked the bunch of blossoms down. Who knew a girl who seemed so lifeless three months ago could hold such fire? read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Five

¤ The Quest Continues

Silver and Jaysen sat in their seats, hushed by Scadur’s tale. ‘So your grandfather knew this girl? And she was one of those who protected the village of El Nath?’ Silver asked in awe, her hands flat against the table they gathered around. She had read a little about the history of El Nath, but never really had an image as vivid as the one Scadur painted. read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Four

But the blow never came. Slowly opening his eyes, an amazing picture came into his sight. Silver stood before him, breathless, holding tightly onto her bow that hummed with released tension. At her feet, the great creature laid, slain with two arrows buried deep in the back of its neck.

‘Not… bad…’ Jaysen panted in relief.

Silver gave him a faint smile, her face pale and bloodless in the cold. read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Three

¤ Cold

The pair trudged out into the snowy grounds further away from the town. A cold wind gusted through the barren trees, gently teasing Silver’s curls. Hugging her red Napoleon cloak closer to herself, Silver held her Olympus bow at the ready. Jaysen led the way, claiming to be the more experienced one.

And he was right. Using his golden dagger, he quickly dispatched the various strange creatures that dwelled in the snowy forest. Silver provided support by watching his back and shooting any attacking creatures from afar. After clearing several mobs of Jr. Yetis, Hectors and Fangs, she felt more confident about her hunting skills. read more

Aurora’s Redemption – Two

¤ Damsel in Distress

Backing away, Silver reached automatically for the small field dagger sheathed at her waist. ‘Who… who are you?’ she stammered, wondering desperately if she had time to draw her bow. Trained as an archer, she had little experience with melee weapons and could not possibly defend herself properly with a mere field dagger.

‘Oops.’ The young man realized his mistake just then, and sheepishly sheathed his dagger. Smoothing down the front of his Scorpio armour, he offered Silver a bright grin. ‘Chill. I just saw you looking so beautifully puzzled at that scrap of paper-’ read more
