Well that was fun

First blog in a while. Needless to say, I’ve been rather busy with real life. Yay!

Anyway, last night was an interesting night, to say the least. I managed to get involved in a 2-hour-long kill steal war. Looking back on it (and Ara agrees with me on this), the war was actually kinda fun. It kept us killing zombies and we both managed to get a lot of experience. Wooot!

Regardless, I guess I should start at the beginning of the whole thing. If you’ve read my previous blogs, you know that my guild and I all use a voice chat program called Vent. Well, last night, we were all on it, but not necessarily in Maple. Ajema and Araneu were fighting at zombies (Forest of Dead Trees IV) because Ajema was about to reach level 60. I was doing homework while they were doing this, but still listening to their babblings.

Anyway, about 10 or so, Ara says something about how another bandit came in and was trying to KS her. Now, Ara’s a level 70 (she might be 71 now) priest, and apparently the bandit was 50-something. So, needless to say, he couldn’t keep up with her, especially so when Ajema would occasionally come by and kill things. So, he calls some friends. When Ara said that, I figured it was my cue to go and join them. For one, I hadn’t played Maple in quite a few days, and I wanted to play. I also stick up for my buddies even if it doesn’t involve me. Ehehehe…

So, I get there, and the map was already pretty laggy. The bandit who came in to steal the channel had called about four or so friends (most of which were between 60-75), so it was five against two without me there. Ara tells me to go to the bottom right hand of the screen because I finally had enough levels in Iron Arrow for it to be useful. The fun began. >=)

Ajema took the top left, Ara took the middle, and I took the bottom right. Ajema said that almost none of the others came up there – they dealt mostly with Ara and I. I wasn’t really paying attention, but Ara said that they had to double- and triple-team me to keep up. I wouldn’t say that, but I wasn’t paying attention, so… I do know that I was able to KS people 10 levels higher than me, though. I <3 my Golden Crow/Iron Arrow.

So, that goes on for a while, and the original bandit bails on the other side. But, they don’t give up. In fact, they call more friends, many of which were higher level sins with Steelies. Now my clan is horribly outnumbered – something silly like 7 against 3 (technically, it was 4, because HPWarrior from Hidden Street was there with us, but because he’s only level 28, he really couldn’t do anything except try to find people to help us). By this time, I was getting tons of sins on me, and I can’t keep up with more than 2 or so high leveled sins. That’s when I saw a nice little notice pop up in the bottom right hand side of my screen: “Big00H has logged on.” Score.

I warp up to the top platform and ask my guild if they’d like me to ask Big to come and help. Ara chuckled giddily and was all “hell yeah!” and Ajema just said, “Who’s that?” Anyway, I messaged him over buddy chat and asked him if he was in the mood for a KS war over at zombies. He seemed pretty fired up over it, so we were all extremely happy. Now, why were we happy? You see, Big is a level 89 Ranger, and man can he tear up those zombies. About 10 minutes later, he showed up, and the real party began.

That goes on for about 30 minutes or so, and people just keep coming, and most of them join the other side. Eventually, it basically turns into a battle between archers and sins – a couple more archers came into the channel and we got them on our side, and a buttload of sins came in and joined the other side. With Big using Strafe and Arrow Rain and another Crossbow Woman and I using Iron Arrow, we could at least hold our areas. Araneu helped me when sins ganged up on me, and I helped her when I could. Ajema had to leave after about an hour and a half because of his time zone, but he kept us Hasted so we could get a small little edge.

Eventually, one of the people on the other side asked what exactly happened. That pretty much ended things, because the original dit that had tried to steal the channel left a waaaaay long time ago, and most of the original friends he called left too. One of the sins on the other side tried to lie and say that we KSed him, but Ara and Ajema had been there for over an hour when the war first started. So, people just left after that, and we could say we actually won. Plus, Ajema got his level before he left, I gained 20%, and Ara said she gained about 30%. Big earned himself several fames, because he’s simply that awesome. Thanks again, man!

The oddest thing happened right before I went to bed, though. Ara went to set up her shop with her mule, and I stopped by to drop off incriminating messages. I looked at the people sitting around her, and guess who I saw? One of the poeple from the other side of the KS war! XD It was actually the one who tried to lie and the one that I could KS really easily even with his Steelies.

In other news, I finally hit level 61. 9 more levels! *major drools* I love the Blue Choro I have. It’s really pretty, unlike the butt-ugly Lumati I had. The only difference is that my Choro has 1 less dex than the Lumati, but I don’t mind. I still get 16 dex from it. Plus, I got a huge damage boost from hitting level 60. Ara and Riteye watched me hit some things right after my level. They said they were speechless. >_> But hey, I can keep up with people now!

So, yeah, that was my night last night. It was frustrating at times, but for the most part, it was some of best fun I’ve had in Maple for a while. XD
