People are easily aggravated

Alright, so, maybe it’s just me, but has everyone seemed extremely quick to anger today? Perhaps it was that I was exceptionally annoying/aggravating today, though I don’t think I was (though, the aggravator doesn’t always know). Alas, I managed to ruin at least three people’s days today, and I didn’t even try. Best start at the beginning.

I ended up going back to Zombies today. Lord, I hate those things, but they still give amazing money. And, because the formula stats that

{if (name=Arc)
moneystatus=broke
}

the said money was very welcome. Plus, Rit’s got a second character going and he wanted teeth. Yay teeth. So, I get myself a Z3 map, and am *happily* sliding around, killing said undead. (Completely off topic, but they were much more enjoyable this time around. I believe it’s because I can kill them in one shot about 98% of the time, and I saw my first Strafe 3k today. Joy!) So, shoot shoot shoot lag. Oh hey, someone’s up top. Oh well, they’ll leave. Go to the left side, get a little distracted over there (stun + multiple aggroed zombies + sliding shoes + ledge = F5), and head back to the middle. What’s this? Two people have come into the map (a hunter and an assassin)? Oh noes! Well, they’ll leave, because I’m much higher than them and I was here first. Shoot shoot shoot, accidently steal a few kills, and then the assassin stops. Next, the dreaded phrase: “cc plx”. I climb up to the rope, tell them that I was unfortunately here first, and keep on training/money hording. They stay there for about 10 minutes, and eventually leave, though I doubt they were extremely happy. Now, I probably look like the “big bad evil high level noob jerk”. However, I’m a strong believer of “first come, first serve”, especially if the “first come” is more than capable of holding said screen. Check the map before you kill anything – I know for a fact they didn’t. At the very least, ask to share. I have no problem sharing if you can keep up. It’s not hard. “Hey, would you mind if I shared the map with you?” 10 seconds (if even that) of typing. Oh noes, a full sentence! The world is going to END!!!!!!!!!!!!

>_>

Second incident! I’m training my low-mid level cleric at Jr. Wraiths. I’ve been there probably half an hour or so, and have managed to not pick up everything. I don’t mind if someone loots if I leave something on the ground. No biggy. Now, because I had loot on the ground, you’d think that might trigger some neurons in a brain to say “o hay, sme1 mihgt b hre”. Alas, again, no. (Really, what little faith I had in the Maple population is really, really starting to be eaten by the netherworld.) So, I’m mobbing the bottom, because the bottom is so deliciously mobbable. I’ve got a nice loooooooong train following, and I’m heading towards the right to finish them off. Two people show up on my mini map, coming from the right. Well, I, being the oh-so-trusting (and ignorant) person that I am, keep going that direction, thinking “Oh, they won’t kill my mob”. I pass them, and what do they do? They start attacking my mob. So, I go back and heal it to death. Yet, what is the first word out of one of the player’s mouths? “bish”, of course, because it’s now illegal to kill your own mobs that you have painstakenly pulled together. Oh no, what will I do at the bottom of the Death Teddy maps with Ris now? Regardless, they stay for a little bit, and then leave because I can kill the little wraiths faster.

<_<

Third incident! By this point, I’ve been playing Maple for quite a while, and I’m ready to quit for the night. That, of course, means shop time! I go ahead and price all my stuff, get the name for the shop ready in my right mouse button, and head in. I’m fully expecting to get stuck in the channel two Free Market, as this has been my luck the past week or so. But, I check the first row in channel one anyway, because hey, I might get lucky. Well, today was one of those nights. Kinda. I’m in room six and notice that the top left hand corner is empty. SCORE! Rush rush rush rush oh no two other people rush faster item menu double click shop permit ctrl v enter. Oh hello shop menu. I haven’t seen you in a while. How have things been? Anyway, apparently, one of the other people that was trying to get the spot had been there previously, and seeing that she lost it, went ballistic. She and an apparent friend started calling me “noob” and “betch” (and versions of it). I open my shop, and, well, look at the picture for the rest of it. Now, notice how she says she didn’t say anything mean? Look at the green highlight in my normal chat box. I would definitely rate that as “inappropriate” and “mean”. Now, once again, I probably look like the “big bad evil high level noob jerk”. However, if she really had asked nicely, I probably would have given her the spot. Perhaps I’m too much of an idealist. Oh well. Regardless, I’m halfway expecting to have negative fame on that character by the morning. Good stuff.

In other news, SilkRoad! I started playing with Rit and Moon, and it’s really interesting. I’m a level 12 Warlock on the Rome server. If you’re around, whisper me and say hi, but please identify yourself in the process. If anyone has any tips for the game, those would be appreciated too. :3

So, I shall bring this to a close. As usual, no refunds on lost time. If I had the power to do that, I would have redone my first semester of college. *shudders*

P.S. Sorry for the bad picture quality. I want my png, darnit! D:

(Saying that is DEFINATLY NO MANNERS.)

Explainations: That’s what ‘betch’s’ say. Arrogant, you think you are better than them, ten-fold. You’re not. They must be pissed ‘cuz they lost their precious spot, and you saying that. They have a reason to be.

Those two were idiots: “Yeah i know, thanks” or whatever. WTH? And the blue guy saying “I didn’t say anything bad” Hahahahah! LMAO. They should be arguaing back, not trying to be ‘nice’ like you. Nice? Pretending to be nice, but that’s not true nice.

Now how do I explain it? “You pretend to be nice, so you can look ‘pro’.”

Nevrmind, I shouldn’t even be writing this, but whatever. (-___________;; It was funny seeing the two arguing.

EDIT: I like your name, Nuri the fairy, from Orbis?

  2. Y’know, reading this is kind of hilarious >D

Eden, don’t tell me you’d would have just sat there and let the two nubs attack you like that, without pwning them in some way o_o~

Even if you pwnt them, you did do wrong,so there’s no point in lecturing her like that. O:

Eden said: “”You pretend to be nice, so you can look ‘pro’.””

@_@;; You should post that everytime someone shows a screenie labelled ‘pwning nubs’.

Oh dear, I’ll have to tell my parents that they were rude for telling me the same thing. I don’t see how pointing out that screaming obscenities is considered rude is, well, rude.

Arrogant? Perhaps. Better than them? No. I don’t know them – they’re two inch pixel characters, and I have no idea who the person behind the character is. How can I, in fact, be better than them in a meaningful way? I can’t, unless I start taking a game seriously and basing worth on character level. I could understand them being pissed to loosing a spot (I would be too if it were me). However, the spot was open, that is, neither pacifca or her friend were actually in it (they were running to it) when I grabbed it. Also, the stuff in the chat box was said BEFORE they came into the shop window.

I was trying to be civil, not nice. There’s a difference. Would you have preferred that I gloat and say “omg noob i so stoled ur spot u sux!11!”? I am nice to people who don’t treat me like dirt to begin with. And, like I said in the blog, I would have given her back the spot if she had asked nicely. How many people would actually do that? Also, I am not “pro”. I hope to never be “pro”. I just want to be another person playing a game with friends.

No, the name is not from the fairy. A friend of mine and I were brainstorming names back in high school, and that’s one that stuck with me.

My intent was not to “pwn” them. If I’m going to “pwn” someone, I’ll do it in real life where I can brag about it. I also don’t see how grabbing an open spot (see above in my reply to Eden) is wrong. Yes, I understand that people get disconnected. Deal with it. I always lost my spot in the Free Market at home because I disconnected at least twice a night. I also understand that sometimes people want to reprice or add items to their shops. However, by dropping your shop window, the spot becomes fair game. Stay in the spot and have the name you want in your right mouse button, so you can put it back up in a matter of seconds.

Also, for the record, the screen was not labelled “pwning nubs”. It was labelled “NeedlessDrama”.

    Edit: Clarifying a bad sentence.

Still, you pissed them off. It is normal for people to swear.

Two stradegies that were good. Let me tell you right now so you don’t piss off more ppl.

Number 1: Don’t say anything, just stay there, ignore them. Then, that’s the ultimate way of pwning them. Human’s can’t live without communication.

Number 2: Say that, “I got this spot fair and square, so don’t bother. You won’t be getting it back.

AND YES, THERE IS NO PROBLEMS TAKING AN EMPTY SPOT. I’D HAVE TAKEN IT TOO, BUT I WOULDN’T BE TRYING TO BE ‘CIVIL’ LIKE YOU.

You sound like china that thinks their culture is the best. ‘You are civil, so you are better than them barbarians’

I know exactly what you mean.

But you don’t treat people like pathetic nooblings. That’s wrong. You trying to be ‘civil’ is wrong. You did the right thing, ‘xept that.

What Maplers consider nowdays = Pro = Civil. SO DON’T HIDE IT. YOU KNOW IT.

  5. o. . .k. . .

this whole argument doesnt make sense ;>__>

Why must you yell like this, Eden? D=

  9. Eden said: “You sound like china that thinks their culture is the best. ‘You are civil, so you are better than them barbarians'”

That, boy, is just flat-out racist. Basing your talk on negative stereotypes is not good for image. Who doesn’t have pride in their nationality? (and when is being civil inferior to barbarianism?) I’m sorely tempted, sir, to call you dim-witted, but that would degrade me, bring me down to the same level as you; thus, I will restrain my tongue. But BTW, after reading your post on the forum thread ‘How Many Five-Year-Olds,’ I am forced to conclude that you also posess a pretty darn high-and-mighty opinion of yourself.
