[SEA Landers to marry in Ammoria]
Singapura– On Monday October 1, the MNHR*’s Marital Authority
declared on a 88-2 vote that
residents of the SEA Lands Territory be allowed to marry in Ammoria wedding village.
As of now, SEA Lands couples will be able to travel to the wedding town east of Henesys,
and marry
at a reduced cost. For many couples seeking to marry, this news comes to them as relief.
The decision resulted growing protests of thousands of couples in the SEA Lands,
from Brisbane to Singapura demanding to be allowed to marry in Ammoria.
Investigations conducted by various groups have confirmed the marriage system at
Peach Blossom Island is too restrictive, too conservative, and of all too expensive.
Randy BC, a young dexless rogue living in Singapura’s English speaking Scott-Yard
district says he’s been to
Peach Blossom Island before to attend the wedding of his guild boss’ friend.
“The people working at PBI are too strict, too mean, and they maintain
heavy security at the weddings.
I went outside during the after party and I was arrested and sent home,”
BC was returned to the SEA Lands and was punished by the courts. His punishment was
6 months of volunteer street cleaning. He says he did nothing to deserve this.
Married couples also admit that the total costs are exceedingly high;
MrTaiYang5 and his wife of six months FeiCui explain:
“To get to Peach Blossom Island, we had to fly to Orbis. That is already three flights; first one to
Anyang in the Korean Lands, then to Riprey, and then to Orbis.
Total is 500,000 mesos.
Then we must obtain a permit from customs at Orbis to enter the southern
territories and that alone is
70K. Then we must pay 1500 mesos for a permit to go to Peach
Blossom Island,”
After making it to Peach Blossom Island, couples must pay a 30K
application for marriage.
Once all the paperwork is done and fees are paid, couples are
required to leave Peach Blossom Island
and seek out rare special items before returning. Add another
1500 for coming back to PBI and
all costs if the required items were purchased at the Free Market.
The number is well into the millions.
Wedding invitations are not cheap. 1000mesos for each guest.
After the 10th guest, the price goes up to
2000, and after 15th person attending, 3000 mesos.
And finally, a 2K waiver fee for gift registration, and the
actual wedding costs 100K, not including preparation and reservation fees.
These costs ranger anywhere between 3.9 mil 5 mil, but for the elegant
fancy weddings, the prices are
known to rise to 40mil or even higher.
The Marital Authority’s record for most expensive wedding for SEA
Lands couple was a staggering
85 million for a two day event.
These numbers may not seem like much among the elite, but for civilians
(Permanoobs really),
weddings are impossible to afford.
In Victoria, total fees for weddings in Ammoria only amount to 1.2 mil,
the highest possible cost for gaining required items as per current
Free Market prices.
So far no other fees apply, except travel expenses and permits.
Since the board’s decision to let SEA Landers marry in Victoria,
already more than 100 couples have married there,
the majority of them hasty ceremonies. When asked why they
were rushing through, the couple admits they
were worn out over the stresses and they wanted to be over with.
The local economy in Ammoria has boomed since Oct 1,
“and money is flowing like water,” the local accountants
say.
The demand for weddings to be conducted by registered
priests is the result of various local laws in the
SEA Lands Territory.
One such controversial law states that elite Maplers with
permits could select a mate to be married, REGARDLESS
of the person’s love situation. In the case of Casey Zuk,
a level 21 magician frequenting Singapura’s local PQ circuit,
was in love with a young man around her level.
She was courted by a level 97 dark knight, and when she rejected his offer,
Zuk was arrested and imprisoned, awaiting punishment demands of the court by the DK.
With these laws in place, thousands of young couples are expected to flee to Victoria to get married.
[Rollbacks cost SEA Landers billions in lost items/finances]
Brisbane– Over the last two days, the Maple Storage System
suffered a series of incidents called
‘rollbacks.’ Items and money stored at the MSS banks accross the
SEA Lands were erased, triggering an estimated loss
at over 817.5 billion mesos. The rollbacks occured between
Saturday afternoon around 9:00 [3:00 PM Victoria time],
and by 6:60 Monday morning (11am Victoria time), everyone c
hecking their MSS accounts found all of their
stored possessions gone.
The storage system uses magic to reduce the items to mere
streams of electrons, and store them on massive
hard drives at 7 major locations in the SEA Lands (Brisbane, Showa,
Kong Kong, Singapura, Dong 3ing, and Orbis).
MSS spokesperson Jack Kaki [Megathon007] said the
MSS was hit by a magic virus; a stream of
dangrous magic energy, that disrupted everything. “MSS working to restore the losses leh”
However, it does not seem likely. The police and
GMs in Brisbane and Singapura launched a joint
investigation into the matter. they believe the rollbacks are the work of a fugitive.
It is still unknown the magnitude of economic impact yet to come
[Maze PQ a fast working road to disaster]
Ludibrium– The PQWU local 12,
or Lubrium Party Quest Workers’ Union is calling for the shutdown of the
new PQ maze in downtown Ludi.
The PQ was opened on September 28 for people levels 51-70; to alleviate
traffic at the Orbis PQ arena.
In a 15-minute time limit, the party rushes through the
maze killing off as many monsters as they can and
return with orange tickets in exchange for experience,
mana fuel, cursed and dark scrolls, and drinks.
This PQ is fast paced and it is easy for people to get lost in due to the complex warp portal system.
PQers tend to get stressed out way more, and the immense supply of
mana fuel and exilir has the
Addicts Anomynous organization worried.
“Maplers will be stressed, wether it is from too much PQing,
or from abuse from teammates, whatever,
and they are at risk of becoming addicted to the cheap, and toxic mana fuel going around,”
It’s not like they can avoid drinking the MP fuel, they must to keep
using their skills when fighting the
powerful monsters that lurk in the Maze. Constant consumption of mana fuel at such high rates is known
to alter the body’s system, making the person dependent on
mana fuel.
the Ludibrium Medical Centre has seen the daily rate of
patients skyrocket since the Maze was opened;
many of whom are so intoxicated they were dragged in.
Mana fuel poisoning is also another big issue.
massive consumption slowly cripples the liver and kidneys as they
filter out the toxins. seven people who PQ’d for nearly 17 hours straight with
no rest were rushed to the hospital
and had to be ‘pumped’ to expel mana fuel that
crystallized in their stomachs.
Such a fast paced PQ also eliminates any possibility of participants to rest or buy supplies from the shop.
“As soon as you get out, you have hardly even half a minute to get HP pots, or stock up on arrows or stars,
or to sell excess items. I get out, start for the nearest store, and before I even get my foot in the door,
whammo
we are back in again,”
Violence is a reality here too. As one party comes out from a
bad round, they scapegoat one of their members
and beat the crap out of him/her as they wait to get in again;
that is if they miss.
The PQWU paid up to 8 million mesos to install camera crystals
at the Abandoned Tower and the Maze
to better moniter the parties inside.
“In Room 16 of the maze, the party gathers and they deliver their tickets to
the leader who must give them to the worker and they are warped out.
I’ve seen people come in,
and as soon as they have their tickets out of their pockets,
the leader fails to notice that Jimmy has 150
tickets and he has the worker warp them to the exit right away.
Then he is aggravated that they recieved very
poor experience and when Jimmy yells he had the 150 tickets,
the leader just pounds the crap
out of him.”
This fast paced PQ was designed to get lots of people in fast
and reduce wait times, and to reduce congestion
at the Tower of Goddess in Orbis.
The GM at Ludi may put the clamp down on this PQ pretty quick.
“It is evedent that the crews who
set this up did not do their research,
they did not carry out test runs all they did was
hire some workers, and write an ‘OPEN’ sign.
These people are level 51-70, but they become
aggrivated as immature PQers at Kerning City
and we see the same levels of violence as over there,”
The PQWU locals at all PQ sites in the southern
territories will be holding a vote for an immediate
strike next Monday. On Monday all PQ arenas will be closed.
Union spokesman Jack Korringer at Kerning City says, “We done all we can. We see police efforts in
keeping the peace, but they too have their limits. It is really up to each and every PQ participant to turn things around,
and if we have to strike, I hope that will send a strong message to everybody.
This will be on the news,
and we will have comment boxes at all PQ locations,
and if things turn around before Monday, that would be great,”
[Tobi Scammers Snagged]
GMs in Singapura nailed 15 guys in a sting operation a
t local markets for grossly mis pricing tobi stars.
Douchebag101, KimchekWe, and Son0fSam158; the alleged instigators of the plot attempted to
sell tobi stars for up to 4 million mesos each to naive
rogues. According to a police report,
the men tried to push prices of steelies and
ilbies by cranking the prices of tobis eight-fold.
The known retailers who know these guys had their
FM vendor permits revoked and are in question bu GMs.
The three guys will appear in SEA Lands supreme court
Wednesday morning; the other 12 were given 4 month jail terms.
The three leaders are charged with economic disruption.
[Justice Arrow never Came: MPC]
Orbis– Despite speculation in Victoria that the Justice
Arrow militant gang dispatched their best men to El Nath to assist
the army, not a single bowman claiming to be a member
of the organization actually showed up.
Master Jalonska of the JA refused to comment.
[Nath War turns uglier and uglier]
It started out as a battle between hackium infected
Coolies and the hackers that got them hyped up.
Bomb raids and ground missions pushed back the Coolies,
then they advance again. The same cycle repeats,
and the GMs and Maple Peace Corps soldiers find themselves battling enraged Yetis,
Pepes, and Lycanthropes,
whos home turf they are fighting the war on.
According to soldiers on the front lines, as they move about to attack
the hackers and zombies and be done with it,
they are constantly ambushed by the angry beasts of
Mount Popapulous.
[Osuwarii Case Reopens]
One year ago on Halloween, big time Permanoob celebrity
Osuwarii was shot dead at Kerning City’s
annual Pumpkin Palooza Halloweeen party.
Aside from the four arrows extracted from her body, the local police
had no clues as to who did it, even though
Osuwarii was among hundreds of people when she died.
This week, The Kerning City Police received an
anomynous tip in the form of a letter that lit a fire under the
Osuwarii murder
case. The letter contained information on the two suspects
may have been Justice Arrow members at the time.
The Permanoob community at Turkey
Whye district offer a 15M reward for any information
leading to the arrest, charge
and conviction of the killers. People with information are asked to call the
