I let you guide me through life,
Yet I never saw that hidden knife.
You played so well,
Even I couldn’t tell.

You were suppose to be here,
Supposed to tell me not to fear.
Trying to protect me all the time,
But never gave me a dime.

I was never treated good,
I guess you were never in the mood.
You never gave me the care,
If you did, it was rare.

I remember the time I fell,
Oh god, it was a living hell.
I lay in the hospital bed,
Never even saw your head.

When I needed you the most,
You were on the other coast.
I sat on my bed crying,
I gave up trying.

I was never treated good,
I guess you were never in the mood.
You never gave me the care,
If you did, it was rare.

I guess you never cared…
Or you just didn’t dare…
I thought I knew you…
I guess I was wrong too…

I spent my whole life trying to catch your attention…
You always put me in detention…
I try, I try so much…
Never ever got your touch…

I was never treated good,

    Thx for the comments. I’ve recently read ‘Hoot’ and if you read or watched the movie before, you’d understand why I was inspired. Yeah, Hoot inspired me to write this.
