Get ready for a read, people.

I have been on MMOT for quite a while. Not as long as some, but by most standards, I have devoted maybe too much time to this site.

I remember what it was like when I first joined. It was a flower still blooming, which is always a sight to see. The main reason I came was because of fanfiction. I have written fanfiction for years, and was excited to find some for Maple Story. I read a few different stories and afterwards decided to sign up, so that I could comment on them. I made a few blogs, explored the forum.

I’m sure that all of you –most of you– know that my personality sometimes limits my ability to think things through before I say them, or maybe appear arrogant or rude when all I intend to do is constructively criticize. When I do criticize, my tone with you may vary greatly depending on your attitude and personality. And your ability to type without killing a kitten.

If you are blogging with good intent, I give an encouraging critique that hopefully helps you. If you blog like an ass who is just trying to tick people off, expect a corresponding reply. I don’t believe in creating false responses just to make someone else feel better about themselves.

I don’t adjust my response to someone’s blog depending on how popular they are, or how long they have been here, or even by their name. I don’t see a blog by so and so and think, ‘well then it must deserve a like!‘

If I read your blog and find it interesting, or enjoyable and original, or a chapter of a story that I have been sitting on the edge of my seat while reading, I award you accordingly with a comment and a like. But with other blogs, I may comment with my opinion or advice or response, yet give you no like.

This does not mean that I dislike your blog. It merely means that it didn’t live up to earning that like. Either it was too bland; too off-topic, burned my eyes with illiteracy, too self-righteous and haughty, was terribly pointless, or was just complete junk.

So sometimes I announce the title of self-proclaimed supreme bish of MMOT. Well, it’s not that I really enjoy being that. More like it is just what I know everyone is thinking when they see my name. Just know that I am not trying to be.

So anyway, I return now back to the horrible flower metaphor. MMOT has now bloomed- it is no longer that little bud that it was when I had joined. It has become –almost– everything that I hate about the online world. I won’t specify the things that I hate, most likely everyone can guess them and probably be right. But I will tell you the only things I remain here for.

I remain here to follow Silver’s fanfic, because it is the only fanfic on this site that is still in progress (not that the rest of them aren’t decent), yet is also well-written and has a functional system of plot and theme. It has emotion, it makes you think, and keeps you wanting more. How every story should be.

I remain here because of the few people left (grant it, a small few, since most of those I admired are dead to this site) whose blogs are never pointless to me and are always interesting.

I remain here to give art to those who request it, and even though those updates span anywhere from a week to a month apart, I still want to complete all of them.

And of course, I remain to burn the toosh of anyone who dares try to drag this site into the similar depths of myspace. But I never do so without a good reason, and remember that.

I want to be here when -hopefully- another good fanfic arises unexpectedly from a new blogger, who can actually type something that I can read without my eyes exploding. I want to be here to see MMOT become what it is supposed to be, and what some people who do not read the rules don’t understand:

A site to blog about your day in a game or share a fanfic or a comic or a poem related to that game, or to have discussions in the forum about related topics. A site where everyone can enjoy themselves without having to read about who broke up with you because your sorry ass is too lazy to get a Live Journal or Xanga or MySpace, or listen to how terrible you think your life is.

If you really feel that you need to share something of that nature, then that is why we have the PM feature. Talk to someone individually who you get along with and wish advice from, or even better, go talk to someone in real life. Notice that the ‘general‘ forum says ‘talk about gaming in general‘.

I think that it is sad that SirSolo is so unbearable, when everyone has the potential to be liked. He just chooses to be a moron.

I think it is funny that Fpooned’s most popular blog should actually have been in the forum. But then, I also admire one of his quotes from a more recent blog, “I don’t ask for the likes, I just get them.”

I think it is upsetting that so many people are quitting Maple Story, because they just don’t find it fun anymore.

But then, if you don’t find a game fun, why do you play it? If a community is not fun to you, why do you join?

Maybe I’m just going through PMS and letting my emotions pour out of me by the bucket?

Also, I wish that we had more Mips to go around and monitor the site. I vote Mip the next candidate for oncoming human cloning experiments.

But you guys know who you are when I say this: thank you for putting up with me and understanding that I’m weird and there is nothing anyone can do about it n_n

I truly love you guys.
