A Sporadic Chain of Events Chapter 1- An Ending and A Beginning

Many things change, for the better or for the worse. In fact, everything will eventually change in one way for another. Change takes time, it can be as fast as a snap or as slow as metal decomposing.

It was an ordinary night when I closed my eyes and laid in my tent. I was part of the “Reign of The Devil” guild and I had stayed with the rest of the members, in our Southside ground.

I was almost completely clouded by my artistic muses as my eyelids laid horizontal.

“Charge!” A voice called.

I immediately slammed myself out of the tent. Oh no! Sky and Earth’s Will (Tian Di Hui, Lol =P), the notorious ksing, raiding guild was there with their guild flag and emblem shields. They ran towards us.

I quickly grabbed my Zard and rushed forward. Much to my surprise, our leader Reagan told us to escape.

Reagan was only a level 70 hermit then.

Many of us escaped, some were too slow and were attacked. I too, made a run for the hills. Being a warrior wielding heavy armor, I decided to rest my body behind the tent, hoping not to catch their attention.

Reagan was obviously outnumbered, 30 to 1. He was already rather injured from the job advancement test the day before. I tried not to panic and stay calm to prevent the enemny from spotting me.

Too late.

“Sire, a stubborn mindless young warrior is hiding here.” A page commented as he and his two thief friends dragged me in front of their leader, who ironically called himself “I am bandit”, when he was obviously “I am a bandit”.

That bandit leader just calmly told one of his men, “Let the fool free, we will take his leader.”

I was completely shocked. Take Reagan? He was a courageously strong patriot and further more he had already been occurring trouble regarding his wife and children? His wife was commonly known as Fairy. Strangely enough, she and the children had disappeared a day before and thy guild master was already under enough stress.

The minute they set me free, I grabbed my backpack, I then ran and ran, as far as I could. I could not believe it, one night and the next thing you know, all your friends have disappeared. I’d vow to kill “I am bandit”, but being a 4x fighter, I knew that my chances were closer to 0 percent than 1 percent.

Exhausted, I fell into the grassland below the mountains of the Southside. Fatigue had gotten the best of me and without my knowledge, I was long into sleep.

I woke up to the nudging of two young adventurers, they introduced themselves as Freak and Mage and asked for my name.

“Yeh sure, it’s Lawrence.”

“Come on, are you really that poor till you can’t afford a room in the Ellinia Inn?”

Wow, my legs had taken me that far?

They were extremely helpful and introduced me to various places around Ellinia.

Wow. 1x these days are still as kind as ever. I wish some people like 8x bandits who call themselves “I am bandit” would be as “nice”.

I bought myself a ticket to Orbis and said bye to them.

The first person I met on the ship was Daphene, a level 32 crossbowwoman. My eyes locked on her and soon my eyes were romantically involved with her eyes. I wished. My eyes instead, were just having a monologue with itself while staring at those starry eyes.

She was spamming “Looking for crossbow arrows.”

Much to my surprise, a level 50 cleric told her, “I’ll give you free crossbow arrows if you let me have a look at that magically inclined work glove of yours.”

“I’m sorry, my Grandma gave it to me as a gift and told me never to give it to anyone as it had a weapon attack of 12.”

“Aww, little girl, just pass me the item and let me look at it, I promise I’ll give it back.”

I doubted her experience. I was right, she almost passed the work glove to that scammer.

“Stop! Don’t try to bully her just because she has less experience then you!”

That scammer then nervously retracted his statement, “Who’s scamming? Never mind, I don’t need to see your work glove anymore. Bye.”

That girl expressed her gratitude by giving me a short grin, it was enough for me.

I handed some crossbow arrows to her that I had in my backpack. She thanked me and then quickly boarded the ship.

She was blushing.

We entered the ship.

Much to our surprise, the door to the cabin had a big notice on it.

“Cabin closed for renovation till…”

Everyone was feeling rather angry for the disturbance and even our friendly neighbourhood Crog had seen it.

“Attention passengers, we will be leaving now.” The voice over the Public Announcement system rang like a grim reaper warning us of our impending doom.

I sneakily glanced at the captain’s passenger list.

It stated:
Ritchy 90 Priest
Lawrence 46 Fighter
Daphene 32 Crossbow woman
HorneeBee 10 Archer

I realised that there was something wrong. There was no priest to be seen anywhere. At least that was what I thought till I saw that disgruntled old slug a.k.a captain, “blessing himself” with a lottery ticket in his hand.

Soon a cry was heard. Then I saw the Crog backing into the ship. Me, the amazingly calm crossbow gal and the beginner archer.

I tried act brave as everyone crowded around the cabin door. I gulped down my anxiety and threw my zard into my hand and wacked that black flying identified object.

Holy crap! My dex being 60 only -_- obviously missed it.

It too was going “wth?!”

It then threw a black ball out of its chest, heading for the three of us. The little archer being anxious, jumped, trying to escape.

I quickly pulled Daphene aside as the grave of the young archer slammed on the ship.

Roars gushed out of its mouth and black beams of thunder struck the ship. Daphene and I just stared on. Petrified could be used to describe us.

“Hey captain! Drive faster!”

But the ship was still as slow as ever. I made a sprint to the captain’s deck and I saw an old fool lingering in his out drunken stupor.

I jammed my leg on the accelerate pedal. The crog was caught off-guard polishing his 10% scrolls. It was too slow to catch up.

Yes! We outsmarted it.

Another of those roars filled the skies. Ha! Must be the roar of defeat!

I tried to wake the captain up. And much to my surprise, he actually woke up.

Daphene thanked me as she was polishing her Eagle Crow and introduced herself. Needless to say, I pretended that I had not peaked at the list and did not know her name.

“Stupid fool!” The captain remarked as another crog appeared in front of our ship. My eyes was filled with delusions amd fear.
